Have you heard about forgotten WW2 prisoners who were in 60's or 80's found during a tunnelwork on a bunker locked in there was one survivor. Because i can't remember where i heard about it but when i gold about it to my dad he said it was true.
WW2HistoryHunter If you look down the escape tunnel then there could be a tunnel leading off from the left. Could this be the entrance to a separate section.
History never dies due to folks like you...your enthusiasm is addictive..and hopefully awakens an interest in others who will carry on and share history..thanks for your efforts..
In the 1980’s I and some friends found a large underground complex in Hong Kong. We entered through a locked shaft with a ladder that went down to some kind of boiler room and the only exit we could find was on a mountainside overgrown with jungle behind a locked iron gate. There were still bed frames and other furniture, and even old documents still in place, some partly burned. In the center of one room there was a see through chinagraph board (for plotting aircraft movements was our guess), and a long wooden lectern. It looked like it had been abandoned in a hurry when the Japanese had invaded and never used again after that. It’s probably still there.
The bunker look's much larger from the outside than it from the inside. It is such a good thing that there are people like yourself that keep history alive otherwise it would just be lost to time. A good example was the gun barrel cooling trough.
Isnt the "Made in (some country)" from the industrial Revolution? The revolution was first in England and because of the competitors the "Made in (...)" was a seal of quality... Since then it was "Made in (...)" I guess... So everything has the seal of quality on it, in english...
My husband just found your video, by chance. This is amazing. On the coast of NH, there is a state park called Ordiorne State Park. In it, one can see the bunkers that are covered by grass. One can see the doors but they are bolted shut. It was a beautiful, rich sea community that the American government took by Eminent Domain. All the mansions were torn down an the US built bunkers and there are several turrets for cannons. I'm so ignorant, I didn't realize there must be quarters below them. You've taught me so much, in the two videos I've watched. Thank you so much for helping me to relive history. We need to learn from history so we don't make the same mistakes again.
John Potter Burned out? Flooded is normal they're underground. After a few years. Look at how fast Hitler's bunker filled with water before the skum reds blew it up! It should have been preserved for history. That's Russian mentality, we Americans never forgot the Cuban crisis! Thank god for JFK
you wont find any abandoned structures with stuff still left in them. but there are a decent amount of bunkers left around in certain places. we have tons of them close. try zandvoort in the netherlands or certain areas of normandy in france
I enjoy how you imagine what the soldiers were doing there and the kinds of situations in which they were involved. I do the same thing. I find it fascinating to think about what their lives were like and to imagine the people that walked in the very same space as you 70 years ago. Too awesome!
I don't think they'd leave mines where there own soldiers walked over, maybe somewhere further but definitely not around a bunker unless they laid them there as a last minute desperate defense.
What would be nice is if you could find some WWll Veterans and record some of their stories. Like we have only a few surviving WWll Vets left and once their gone so is their stories. Thank You for going out of your way and showing us your finds.
My father in law was a Captain in the 6th armored tank division with Patton. They liberated Buchenwald, but they went all throughout Europe. He probably was there. He passed away, but my mother in law who is 99 and still remembers all the stories.
I could watch these many times over. Better than the cut & paste history channels. These are genuine and much research & work involved in making these. Thks HH
A few years back, they found 3 untouched and unopended german bunkers burried in the sand off the coast of Denmark after a big storm. It had everything a bunker would have when the soldiers left it. Guns, radio equipment, rations, bedlinens, personal items, everyhing. Pretty cool.
I like the hunt, for sure but it's just sad thinking of the boys that died for the sake of war. Just sad! God bless all their souls !! My grandparents and their parents came to Canada just in the nick of time. They were some of the fortunate ones although they weren't treated very well here for many years.
Thank you for sharing this. Let us hope that soon authorities will realise that the Atlantic wall is an historic legacy like Hadrian's wall and start to preserve it.
Hey i found 3-4 bunkers close to My forest, i found 22nates, german clothes (perfect to me), 3helmets 2 Mosin nagant, And 6 pistoles, no One had rust it Was in the bunker

Awww man first of all, thank you for sharing and second, thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for the 'small' details and showing me there are more people in the world like me who can totally dream away, using your imagination looking at a, for example, a simple screw where someone, most likely a German soldier, was looking at. The details I now see , he must've seen as well etc etc.... Hope you get what I'm saying. Again, thanks for sharing... !!
This is totally amazing and as I was watching I thought of my Grandfather and my Uncles - may they Rest IN Peace. they served in this War. Truly incredible stuff here - Thank you for sharing this with us.
Awesome opportunity to see a bunker discovered under so much earth and to see it before it is demolished for modern developments. Thank you for sharing this and for the unique details such as the cooling trough for the gun barrel. I do hope you went back and even found the location where the gun was. Thanks for preserving history for us.
Why should anyone spend time demolishing a bunker in the middle of a field. Anyways, if its cleaned up and pumped dry it will make an exelent potato cellar
Ha ha. Almost the entire length of the fortifications to prevent the liberation of Europe are intact. You can them (tell) them easily. Why do you think this is important?
When I was stationed in the US Army near the Sigfried Line there were a lot of those bunkers along the ridge between Pirmasens and Dellfield in 1963-65. Most had been blown up but the basic bunker was still embeded in the ground. Many had railroad track for reinforcement in the cement. Most the top had been blown off, one the top was still attached standing in a vertical above the old bunker. We had an old Sargent in our unit that said he was with demolisions when they blew these up. They had to fill the bunker with water so the TNT would use the hydraulic action to blow the bunker apart, and the top off. Along the base of the ridge there are a string of caves that the Army used for storage. Many of them are still being used. WS
These bunkers are scattered all across the island of Jersey, if you ever get the opportunity of visiting the channel islands keep an eye out for them, they're really cool to explore. Some of the larger ones have even been converted into WW2 museums.
I was on a bus in Jersey with a friend who lived there. As we went along the road I saw windmill after windmill, all without blades. I asked why there were so many windmills, & why none of these had blades. I was told that they weren't "windmills", but German bunkers.
i live on jersey, channels islands, we were occupied during the war, and there are many many bunkers like this here, even on a 9 miles by 5 miles island !
I absolutely love your enthusiasm and excitement when finding something! It is infectious. You remind me of myself, whenever I find even something just small, like a arrowhead lying on the surface of dirt. Since we dont have any battlefields from WWII-nowhere in the U.S., and with most Revolutionary war and War between the States battlefields being so picked over by those with metal detectors who-anywhere allowed- go out in almost Platoon strength, a arrowhead is about the biggest thing I can find.
Of course you need to go back and investigate further. This could be the 'tip of the iceberg'. Makes an individual (and I'm sure you) how many lost hidden relics, bunkers, etc. there could be waiting to be discovered and opened up..... GREAT Find... please continue your quest.
I am from Colombia, I like the history and see those places, I try to imagine the soldiers, bullets so on so forth , thank you very much for show us those things
I went in one that had 3 levels with a tile bath. Some of the guys even found Lugar's still packed in Cosmoline. I only found some unused ammo. They sure knew how to use concrete and rebar.
It’s unfortunate many German families destroyed anything “nazi Germany” period from fear after the war so we missed out on so much history because of the hatred of “what happened”. Many don’t understand or they are taught that everybody in ww2 were some terrible monsters but the families and military those men women children were born there it isn’t there fault. As well as if the Americans had lost we would have done the same and history would be written differently in the end we are all the same just live in a different place. It’s so easy to say I wouldn’t do that when your actually doing everything your gov says to do. Scary to think how many innocent Germans were forced to hide their heritage from generations that came after. I’m not some racist fanatic I just love history and what we did and thought like. Keep it up man find more everything. Wish I had your job.
Agreed..! Also, I don't like idiots that still are pestering Germans for what happened back then. Most people living today weren't even born back then. No need to be hostile to them. We all learned from history and something similar won't happen again. I have a hope we all can be brothers and stop the fighting no matter where in the world it happens. Utopia..? Maybe...but one can still hope the best.
Awesome video WW2HH, that place is a time capsule that needs to be completely preserved. Makes you wonder how many other forgotten and undiscovered positions remain to be found! Keep up the great videos. Happy Fossicking! Warren.
There are still ots of long forgotten structures out there for sure. Thanks for taking time to watch Warren and HH in the Next adventure ) Greetings from WW2HH
Your passion and enthusiasm is beautiful to behold. Thank you for sharing this with us all. You never fail to pick out the smallest of items and explain them away for us. I actually felt that I was walking through this bunker. Perfect, as usual. Thanks so much.
I think those wheels might be the undercarriage of a ME 163 jet fighter plane. It was essentially a rocket plane, and while your fuel lasted, it was the fastest thing in the sky at the time. When the plane took off, the wheels were jettisoned, and the plane had to make a belly landing when it returned. The plane was then brought in using a sort of cart that was designed for the purpose. The fuel mixture was quite volatile, and they had a nasty habit of exploding on landing. Great find!
Would've been nice if you circle around the bunker outside so we can see how it looks from different angles. How it blends into the area on the covered side.
Man, they should give you a t.v. show on Discovery or National Gheographic. Realy like your vids. We got alot of this stuff to, over here in the Netherlands. Keep it up, great findings.
I'm seeing this in 2018 for the first time. Wow. very great to see this. I'm a very big history fan, and I don't concern myself about who fought who or won. I look at it from all sides and anything found by any side, in world war 1 or 2, I think should be preserved. ALL history is is very important. Also really the host here is very knowledgeable and is very entertaining to listen to. thank you!.. Bob
Amazing how well intact it is...many such bunkers are unsafe to enter because of risk of it caving in, but that one looks relatively safe because the ceiling appears to be pretty solid still. That axle with wheels at beginning look like it may have belonged to a tractor(possibly used in the bunker's construction)or maybe from a truck or towed artillery piece.
My friend you been busy completely fantastic video I do pray they Don't tear it down get a water pump and suck out that water simply amazes me you always come though for your viewers I do thank you History Hunter
Komi Shouko Ikr!! These childish fools with this "who's watching in (fill in the year) drives people with IQs and jobs fricking crazy. Too much time on their hands living off mummy and daddy and or the government smh
Great find, but you should make a trip to my island if you’re interested in German bunkers. The Germans fortified Jersey in the Channel Islands for 5 years making the entire island a fortress. With many of the bunkers still open to public and some even restored. The underground hospital which has two miles of tunnels under a mountain is a main attraction.
Brilliant video! I really enjoy all your videos. Very entertaining, informative and well produced. Thanks, and keep up the great work.I also love your excitement and enthusiasm for the history and the importance of preserving that history for future generations.
Did you see that it looked like "SS" was scratched into the wall at about 11:33? Right behind where you were touching the old cable. Perhaps scratched in the Nazi SS by a previous soldier? I could be wrong but I perceive it that way. Anyone else?
The "huge bar" in the bunker is an axle, the same as the one outside with the wheels on, probably for a small trailer or cart . Engelbert were a major tire manufacturer for years.
Always so amazing what lies beneath our feet that we explorers find to show, fantastic find and very well documented indeed :-) ATB GL & HH LittleJohn Metal Detecting

Why would a WW2 German made tyre have "Made in Germany" written in ENGLISH on it
i wouldnt know , export piece ? Thanks for watching.
Isnt the "Made in (some country)" from the industrial Revolution?
The revolution was first in England and because of the competitors the "Made in (...)" was a seal of quality... Since then it was "Made in (...)"
I guess...
So everything has the seal of quality on it, in english...
TIRE
HAMRADIOJOE american vs English version of spelling. Depends if ur using Oxford or american English.
Ahhh, americans parading their ignorance on the Internet as usual.
"Tire" means "to become exhausted" in proper English.

Yup
I don't think they'd leave mines where there own soldiers walked over, maybe somewhere further but definitely not around a bunker unless they laid them there as a last minute desperate defense.

When the plane took off, the wheels were jettisoned, and the plane had to make a belly landing when it returned. The plane was then brought in using a sort of cart that was designed for the purpose. The fuel mixture was quite volatile, and they had a nasty habit of exploding on landing. Great find!
well at least they look pretty old. Thanks for watching
Would've been nice if you circle around the bunker outside so we can see how it looks from different angles. How it blends into the area on the covered side.
will keep that in mind. Thanks
Those tires look... Wheelie wheelie old... 😰😂
yes they do. Thanks
WW2HistoryHunter you're welcome

Well i feel fre and happy so all is well :) Thanks
cool gun carriage axle laying there for 70+ years
I'm seeing this in 2018 for the first time. Wow. very great to see this. Bob
Thanks for taking time to comment and watch.
This vid is better than my social studies class 😂
My social studies is really fun.
My S.S makes it very fun for us.
And most of my friends/people in my class, are obsessed with WWII
Thanks for watching.
I live in Sitka Alaska and there are a lot of ww2 bunkers and there all open
Amazing how well intact it is...many such bunkers are unsafe to enter because of risk of it caving in, but that one looks relatively safe because the ceiling appears to be pretty solid still. That axle with wheels at beginning look like it may have belonged to a tractor(possibly used in the bunker's construction)or maybe from a truck or towed artillery piece.
who knows about the Wheels. Great location and thanks for watching my friend.
Amazing !!! Just amazing my friend thanks so much for taking the time to do this for us all !!!!
More 2 come later and Greetings from us.
Another cool video.....Have you considered doing your magnet fishing in the flooded rooms?? Never know what's under there!!
Could do that if i Return. Thanks
me meme Of course the magnet could be stuck on some metal built into the concrete. Then lose a magnet or go for a dive! :)
Good point Raoul.....I didn't consider that!!
Another level
Englebert was a tyre company from Belgium, also having a production facility in Aachen (Germany). Continental bought this company in 1979.

Komi Shouko Ikr!! These childish fools with this "who's watching in (fill in the year) drives people with IQs and jobs fricking crazy. Too much time on their hands living off mummy and daddy and or the government smh
@Komi Shouko if u don't care then why you took your time to reply
Great find, but you should make a trip to my island if you’re interested in German bunkers. The Germans fortified Jersey in the Channel Islands for 5 years making the entire island a fortress. With many of the bunkers still open to public and some even restored. The underground hospital which has two miles of tunnels under a mountain is a main attraction.
ok and will keep that in mind. Thanks my friend.
Very cool Thanks!
Appreciated gmako

Did you see that it looked like "SS" was scratched into the wall at about 11:33? Right behind where you were touching the old cable. Perhaps scratched in the Nazi SS by a previous soldier? I could be wrong but I perceive it that way. Anyone else?
h, could it be ? Thanks
Where
I saw them right behind the end of the cable that you bent
yes
Love your channel & I love to hear you talk :)
Thanks Bobbie
As a player of Sniper Elite 4, I feel like I've visited many of these bunkers. Thank you for this excellent video and commentary.
ok and thanks for watching.
Very very awesome! But can you make another video from this Bunker when he is dry?
Might do just that. Thanks
What a fantastic find congratulations sir
Thank you my friend.
The "huge bar" in the bunker is an axle, the same as the one outside with the wheels on, probably for a small trailer or cart . Engelbert were a major tire manufacturer for years.
Thanks for watching and taking time to comment.
Nice find with the Wt 80 stove inside
it is pretty special yes. Thanks

Thank you for preserving history my friend! You are providing a great a service for humanity!

It looks like it was open for a time after the war, then someone covered the entrance and the exit with that oil drum and earth.
