The line "Father, father - we don't need to escalate" is so sad when you think of how he passed on. This world is too cruel. But love prevails, be it in the flesh or in music like this.
If you're reading this, know that you're blessed and loved, though it may not always feel so. Someone or something out there will always love you. Live on dear one, live on.

As an artist who dabbles in animation, I can’t begin to imagine how long this took. It usually takes me about 10-12 hours to animate just a couple seconds. The details on the dress? Immaculate. Chefs kiss. Don’t mind me geeking out over here.

He saw this then + unfortunately there's been a snails pace of positive growth + even worse is it seems like at least a 1/3 of country have started to show that the progress was somewhat superficial because you put that racist orange POS in the white house + let him start with the racist shit practically from his announcement of running for president + allowed all the closeted, underground + subtle people with some racist ideology to feel confident + comfortable enough to start coming out of the closet so to speak. ✌

People are trying to erase history but of you want change you have to learn so you you don't do the same thing all over! I send music out to make people happy & not to forget. I agree, @peanut2046. What's Going On was one of the very best of the anti-war songs of the 1970s, but there were quite a few of them. I think about Freda Payne's "Bring the Boys Home" and Edwin Starr's "War (What is it Good For)" and the Temptations' "Ball of Confusion" -- as just a few examples.

Artists such as EW&F, Kool & The Gang, Funkadelic, James Brown, etc began to incorporate social/spiritual commentary into their music. #MarvinTheGreat

Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been listening to this album in all its formats for 50 years. Unfortunately, the lyrics still ring true today as they did back then. What's happening, brother?

What a terrific tune, in light of what was going on in Vietnam. So right in losing our guys in a war we didn't have no business being there. Love You Marvin!

I’ve loved Marvin Gaye since the very first time at the age of 14 brought my first album vinyl of course (what’s going on)this completely changed my approach to music and to life. And even today when you listen to the album it is still Actuality in the society we live in today Marvin Gaye Wasn’t just a singer He was a poet philosopher and a humanists. The album what’s going on in my opinion should be awarded the Nobel Prize for literature I don’t know What Hollywood are waiting for to make a film on the life of Marvin Gaye
