In your tech tree next to the Mortar and pestle you will see the "crushed bone" item, open that and you can then crush ordinary bones for more epoxy and you dont have to chase Mamouths for your bones. If you worry about bears then make the pistol, it is only a single shot but does good damage, or if you prefer make the rifle as it will deal far more damage to bears, a single head shot from the side will drop a bear right away, head shots only or he will have you for lunch.
