    From my considerable experience of interactions with Indians (colleagues and others) in the West and elsewhere, I am convinced that they are intellectually and culturally of a high quality. They are persevering in meeting challenges and hardworking, honest and very amiable annd respectful. This, to my mind, cannot come from mere schooling but rather it could only be due to their heritage of intellectual, spiritual and cultural origin and development through millennia - a heritage which the Indians honour by consciously observing in their family life and career but without flaunting it as if it is superior.
    Dr Kak's comprehensive talk is sufficiently detailed for average listeners. It certainly was good enough for me to deepen my own understanding of ndia's great heritage of many outstanding achievements in mathematics, astrinomy, medicine and other sciences and technology including some that are astoundingly renough, clear precursors of such advanced modern discoveries in relativuty and quantum mechanics, to cite a few instances. And for an sstonidhingly simple looking example, the decimal system of numbers - which we so easily take for granted due to their common use - cannot but be called profound, outstanding contributions of Indians. Another example is Indian calculus, described in a different way without the kind of symbols we use today.
    Many of Srinivada Ramanujan's aphorism like mathematical statements, taking ecamples from the modern era, continue to defy the best mathematical brains. In astronomy, the calculation of the elliptic, the age of our planet earth (which no non-Indians of tye past could estimate) are a couple instances of strikingly great contributions by Indians long before any others
    The long colonial European rule is likely to have subdued appreciton of, if not downplayed, their truly great significance.
    Many thanks to Dr Kak for not only presenting cogently a number of specific achievements of Indians but also helping us see them in their true perspective.

    A real intellectual treat. This talk should be made a compulsory listening for all of our youth. Subhash Kakji takes us through the fascinating journey of our traditional Vedic thought forming basis of Modern Western style science. He effortlessly explains the Quantum Physics in terms of Vedantic Darshana and makes a persuasive case for non replicability of consciousness in Machines of future.

    In the beginning a mention of medicine, surgery, and metallurgy should be included to broaden the scope. Also, agriculture, sculpture, and architecture.

    Physics -----> Chemistry -----> biology -----> Consciousness -----> Physics.
    It's a full circle.

    Meaning of Suniata is not that according to Buddha Dharma.... the westerners have no clue because they have learnt Buddha Dharma from 'mahayana' and 'Tantric' and Dalai Lama is their GURU

    So mind has to be lit. How do you light the mind? The shastras say yoga, ayurveda, dhyana leading to inner gyan. The drastic loss in number of jobs means max must look into being sanyasi with tyag and gyan.

    India is a secular country, all knowledge mentioned/gifted to humanity is from Hinduism. Every Hindu knowledge to humanity should be referred as HINDU KNOWLEDGE and NOT as Indian knowledge..please !
