    I understand everything up until the reference clone and using that to make the rest of the geometry deform? Can you explain that please? I have no idea how you made the geometry bend from a vertice on another object. Edit: I figured it out. It was reference clones that did it. Except it appears they have to be made in a certain way.

      if the other objects are instances, they will not attach.
