I updated to a larger one. But It was a great starter. I think the 35hp-50hp range is more ideal for most tractor work. Personally went up to 74hp and it's replaced my need for a skid steer at present.
@OnSiteTrav gotcha. I’m a groundskeeper, 75hp is definitely a jump. I’m looking for something for my property. Mostly just for the garden, gravel, lawn maintenance.
Compact tractors are handy and cheaper than a skid steer. Much easier to repair as well. However I really prefer a skid steer because it's tougher and far better for what I do. Glad you were not hurt when your tractor turned over. Many of my attachments were implements I converted for skid steer use. A bit of metal, welding, hydraulic motor, hoses lines, no problem. Mowing is mostly with my old zero turn mower.
We really need a machine for the homestead and I think that we will get the B26 (backhoe loader tractor). It is extremely versatile and will get most of the work done on our 25 acres. I recently rented a skid steer and was disappointed. Yes it does have lots of power and can lift more. My skid steer had tires on it and because of that it was basically worthless and I would never rent one again (with tires). Took me 5 min to get stuck. Had to get my neighbour (he has a B26) to pull me out several times. Now I don't know how much better the skid steer would be with the tracks on it but I think it is still a specialized machine and not as versatile- I also think that they cost quite a bit more? If I get a specialized machine I would rather have an excavator.
@@chargermopar I looked at a 6 ton excavator that looked really big and powerful to me (Wolf 06) and I really liked it. At 70 k I thought it is cheap to be honest. I wouldn't be surprised if a skid steer cost that much or even more. But they are both specialized machines. I just got a quote for the BS26 and it is almost 80k (84 months financing at 3%)!!! It is extremely hard for me to justify spending 80k right now for a tractor that doesn't make us any money. So not sure how things will go.. Our land is pretty flat actually! It didnt take much to the the skid steer stuck. It is a very heavy machine and with the tires it just sinks right down whenever it is a little soft.
I'M SHOPPING A B26 FOR OUR 120 HOMESTEAD. QUESTION; I NOTICE YOU HAVE A 4 WAY BUCKET LOADER. HAVE YOU DONE ANY DOZER WORK WITH THE 4 WAY BUCKET? HOW'D IT WORK OUT?
I loved the 4 in 1 bucket. Works ok for a dozer blade, just need to be really skilled on the loader positioning. You'll have to stay on it, unlike a skid steer.
Great review. Just blew my rear drive gear when pushing dry clay in low gear. About 900 hours and 2 years old. Dealer thinks Kubota will pay, they better. Still love it tho. Can lift a massive 4x4x8 square bale and stack them 3 high. And I can remove my quickhitch and 3 point arms and put on the backhoe in 6 minutes. I can do the reverse in 8 mins. I do it often but still hate swapping it.
@@OnSiteTrav 👍🏻 I need quite a bit more than that, but it’s a great (almost industrial) machine. The L47 is probably what I would be happier with. My dk40 lifts 2750 at the pins, probably closer to 2400-2500 pounds.
I’m on my second B21 and have put thousands of hours on them I’m afraid to buy a B26 because I don’t want to be disappointed ☹️ I Did own a New Grand L35 in between the B21,s and it was ok because it had all the whistles except I kept breaking everything on it. So stick with the construction line of TLB’s.
Great video for new tractor buyers trying to figure things out
Thank you!
Really considering getting this. Happy with it? I’ve looked at the B2601 a year ago, but decided to wait.

Not a bad way to go. I sometimes miss my skids.

@@fabiancanada8876 Excavators are extremely useful but expensive. You must have challenging terrain if the skid steer got stuck so fast.

Sorry to hear about that rear. They are little beasts of machines though.
770 hours my gears ripped apart too.... latest video is on that.
@@OnSiteTravhow expensive is that repair?
Shoot man, I did a service on your unit. It was about mid summer. But that’s the dealership i worked out of
NICE MAN!
I would love a TLB. How much will the loader lift? I would hate giving up my Kioti Dk40, but having a backhoe may make it easier.
a lot, think its 1,200+ it'll definitely pick up the back tires.

Cost of the machine?
Have the same problem with the front tire coming off the rim. I check the air prior to running it. But do think the B 26 is underrated.
It's got a ton of lift power. I think the front tire and rim needs to be beefed up
Very good info.
Love me some good tractor reviews!
Reviews always perform, fyi lol
Excellent review. From the gut.
Thank you Brian!
I just got a B26. Had a JD 310 before and miss it. But the b26 is more versatile

The B21 is a great unit
What do use the rear hose hook ups for
Flail Mower and Hydro Box Blade
What quick hitch is that
I think its Q10 from land pride just a CAT 1
Put bubble gum in the front tires. (That’s
What we call it here) thick pink sealant. Been around forever. Seals most anything thorns ext. Not cuts.
Good idea
I have both , b21 TLB and the b26 TLB, the b21 is more robust.
The fact that you almost ruined an engine because your negligence, says it all.....
Happens man, and when it happens that new. You get new machines swapped out.
