Tribute To Ratu Finau Mara

Ratu Finau Mara, A 'Vasu Levu' to the Vanua o Burebasaga was laid to rest Lomanikoro, Rewa last week.
He is survived by his two children and life long partner Vitinia Buadromo.

I remembered ratu finau Mara 2o years ago when his father was the prime minister and had a first ever visit to the republic of Vanuatu
Really Finau was a chief protocol officer or a chief security officer .
I am over 70 years old but but vanuatu has just got its political lndependance and needed alot of help and advice which it did get from honorable p m ratu kamisese Mara .Vanuatu wish and send a warm Condolences to the Maras families and may God mercy and grace be ubundance upon you in Jesus's name name..

Ratu Finau was next in line and chosen by the Vuanirewa clan to be the next Tui Nayau and Sau ni Vanua ko Lau after the passing of the late Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara but he rejected the offer twice when approached. A great man indeed and quite and gentle cheifly giant. This title Tui Nayau and Sau ni Vanua ko Lau will only fall to male bloodline of Ratu Mara children or any male chiefly bloodline chosen by the Vuanirewa clan but not to Ratu Maras daughters as Lau never has and never will have a woman as the Tui and Sau ni Vanua ko Lau. Once women get married in Lau they are now under the leadership of their husband but will always have a place and respected in Lau where she is rightly from. After the passing of Ratu Finau, next in line is Roko Ului who is in Tonga fleeing from the Bainimarama govt which he was part and parcel of the initial coup in 2006 and cases to answer to which is why he is in Tonga and can't set foot in Fiji because of prison time that comes with it that will be implemented on him upon arrival to Fiji shores, Lau doesn't want runners as leaders or taking that title, Lau want and need leaders with chiefly bloodline and very well educated leaders. It seems the Vuanirewa clan is at a stalemate, they and they alone have the authority to choose the next Tui Nayau. You'll have to give them credit and respect for not choosing and filling in the Tui Nayau title after all these years 10 years plus as they know full well the true bloodlines that should be seated on it and as a matter of fact they can choose whoever with chiefly bloodline that comes with it IF they so willingly choose to do so but they didn't from then 10 years plus to date 2021. Older generations of the Vuanirewa clan are still alive and out of respect and honor the Tui Nayau title and sau ni Vanua ko Lau title it seems will be left vacant until they've passed and leave it for the younger upcoming generation to do so in choosing the Tui Nayau OR if the older generation of the Vuanirewa clan so willingly choose to do so, appoint a new Tui Nayau and Sau ni Vanua ko Lau whoever is agreed upon by the Vuanirewa clan.
