Good stuff man. I was a little intimidated by the process, but was able to replace my own brake switch & bleed the rear brake for the first time. The sense of accomplishment felt great! However, it did take me 3 hours total. Btw, I bought my Sporty in 2011 brand new & its stock brake switch lasted 12 years! Two recommendations to first timers: 1. all you need is a small bottle of brake fluid for both front & rear brakes, 2. Put some di-electric grease on the brake switch connectors. Part of the problem as to why the brake switch fails is water penetration so the di-electric grease will protect the connection. WD-40 will work too.
I would also like to see 1) how to take play out of throttle handle. Over the period of time I have been riding the play has gotten significant. From step one all the way to the end. 2) change running light bulb from getting the plastic housing off without breaking, just start to finish. Thank you,
LeoSNDS, I actually recommend bleeding the brakes at 3:14. I just don't cover the process in this video because it's been covered a million times in other videos.
Please note. You will need to bleed the rear brakes after replacing this switch. If you don't the brakes will go out. Do yourself a favor and don't skip the brake bleed.
True, good comment. I bled the brakes and mentioned the need to, but there are plenty of videos on it so I didn't see the need to drag this video out and show it. Thanks for your input.
I wanted to replace the whole line cause mine is a 96 and still factory i believe however so expensive and none available here in UK, maybe you could buy me a factory one and i pay you including all postage...US tax imports are a killer.

When you bled the brake line, did you have to replace any brake fluid? I've got the same problem, doing some research on trying to fix it..
