The Sound View has solid breakfast fare, a true Seattle coffee menu…and a view of the ferries…which are not tourist ripoffs but essential to our economy.

Our host and my young son set out to find a ranger, while my daughter and I sat under a tree waiting, marveling at the quiet and the slim trees which bore signs of heavy snow loads that had bent their young trunks. The quiet was…unforgettable.

My friend and I weren't expecting much of a sidewalk with stars on it, so we were mildly pleased with it. Niagara Falls was the largest I had ever seen, but it was much smaller than I had expected. My wife and I were mildly pleased for a few minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed the Alamo because of all the knowledge and interest I took to the place. For me, it was an immersive deepening of my appreciation for it. (Imagine an art scholar and a cretin going to the Sistine Chapel; they'd have totally different experiences.) The Alamo doesn't sing, dance, or whistle "Dixie," so I can understand why some tourists are disappointed in it. I stood outside Graceland (1977) a month before Elvis died, and of course before it became a tourist attraction, so I couldn't comment on that. I've now hiked to the bottom over 20 times, and have visited many unique waterfalls inside (Havasupai, Vasey's Paradise, Ribbon Falls, etc). When my family went to the Grand Canyon , my mother and grandmother literally said “it’s a big hole in the ground”. My dad and I loved it. I agree with your thoughts on the Alamo. I think Plymouth Rock is bigger than just a rock. It is were the story of our country begins. Did the Pilgrims actually step this rock, probably not , but it’s a cool story bro.

The World's Tallest Thermometer in Baker. Think Baker days is done once that new rail linking Fontana to Las Vegas is created.

Not sure how the Mall of America is disappointing except for some stores going out lately. I suppose you have to like going to the mall in the first place, but it's very easy to get to even without a car, has lots of stores you would never see in a regular mall, and lots of restaurants.

he did not lie about a single place on this list lmao, i live in NYC and it does suck..i miss when i was a teen..when virgin records still lived and food was better and cheaper and there was fun to be had there, Atlantic city had me dying because his comments are so true my first date with a X was there and i had my whole lunch taken by those birds. and the walk of fame are literally dirty sidewalks..only good thing i remember was finding a Quay shop and getting some great affordable sunglasses ( they only have stores in LA) and getting my cousin a pair of hello kitty converses from one of those hentai shops. its like a warmer less noisy times square over there

If you go to the Walk of Fame, Fisherman's Wharf or Times Square, you'll probably find your car windows smashed. If you go after dark you may never be heard from again.

Replace Niagara Falls with New Orleans French Quarter. Unless you are there to party , there's no reason to go here. It's really run down and dirty. So dirty. Homeless people everywhere. It feels unsafe, like you could be murdered at any time.

I LOVED the natural spectacle of the Grand Canyon, the bright lights of Times Square, (they have great delicatessen's there,) and the CANADIAN side of Niagara Falls. Last visited Fisherman's Wharf in 01. Had some good garlic crab at a small restaurant appropriately called the "Crab Shack." Got introduced to Anchor Steam beer, See's Candy, and sourdough bread in Frisco. Totally agree about the Alamo But the BEST chili in the world is in San Antonio. Also Hollywood. Loved Pink's hot dog stand there though. Great chili dogs.....

Your take on Time Square is SPOT-ON! I could not get out of there quickly enough. I had no clue what the purpose of that was other than to get squished by millions of tourists and feel like an ant in a trap. The rest of Manhattan... incredible!
