  • I performed this challenge to see how the YETI stacks up against Arizona heat for the purpose of determining whether i should spend the money on the YETI 45, RTIC 45 or the Engel 50 QT for my jon boat

4 days in AZ dry heat in the back of the truck is nothing to scoff at, and the water still cold it’ll still keep the drinks cold for a while longer. I just purchased one and am exited to try it out on our next camping trip. Maybe I should test it out before then in case warranty claim? I have heard some may have quality issues but yeti jumps on them and makes them right.

Still running that same cooler 7 years biggest thing you can do to help it is pre cool it 24 hours before you load it and leave.Apperciate the view and comment and enjoy your trip

Brand new 45 tundra gifted to me less than 3 weeks ago. Ice never lasted longer than 2 days down here in southwest FL (averaging upper 80s) and I found my lid warped today. Can't say anything nice about this brand right now.

I would send it back to Yeti that is not typical quality results for them and considering the price point that's way under performing. My 65 is 6 years old now and is still performing like a champ. You need to let Yeti know and give their costumer service a chance to stand behind it and if their service under performs then share your experience with everyone. Appreciate the view and the comment hope you get it resolved.

@@aor5148 I have sent in my warranty claim and will update this as they follow through. Really want this one resolved. I rely heavily on it for work.

@@single_daddin_it I'm sure they'll make right and you'll be happy but for whatever reason it doesn't happen that way Engle coolers are very popular with the trades I work with.

How is it holding up? Have you experienced any warping on the lid?

No warping still using it for outdoor recreation daily I've been using 20 qt Polaris Northstar for work.

That's pretty good. Not too much trouble to just top it off with ice every few days. If I were out in the middle of nowhere I'd keep it in the shade.

The wife and I are headed over to Prescott AZ next week to visit her grandparents and was wondering how well our Yeti 45 would hold up if we were to leave it in the cab of our pickup. After viewing this I'm pretty confident it'll hold up on our 4 day trip with maybe one refill of ice

Pre cool your yeti put a bag in 24 hours before you fill it and limit the opening of it the best you can and you should get 4 days easy. Appreciate the view and comment

Here in Florida the humidity is so thick it's like trying to breathe with a warm wet rag over your face. I've been to Arizona. I didn't even sweat.
Edit: admittedly it was only a buck five when I was there.

Canyon coolers are just as worthy, maybe do some research on canyon. I got both yeti and canyon both good products.
