Ima be honest, my school had cool teachers and one specifically is still friends with all of us on social media to this day and he talks hella crap to the other students because we’re all grown now. They clowned him for wearing Timbs all through high school to come to work with his shirt and tie 😂 and he told the kid his Daddy couldn’t afford to buy him anything but sketchers the whole time he had his class. We all cracked up, and that’s just how we joke with that teacher, so I can see why a teacher and student would have each others numbers. For us, it was different times back then and our teacher was more involved in our lives and we’d see them outside of school where we live. I don’t know if that’s how this guy was in his area, probably not if they think he’s texting the student inappropriately, but I’m just saying, not every teacher who has their students number is a creep. Also my father was a professor and he just passed in Sept. multiple of his students came and spoke at his funeral and he has not taught in years due to dementia, so that tells you a lot about the kind of person he was and professor
This teacher was extremely inappropriate. You don’t tell kids “your daddy can’t afford…” that’s bullying. Also it sounds like a rivalry over a teen girl that he was having with a teen boy. Like why else would he need to say that? This is grooming behavior.

Nowadays, somehow, I feel that the zeitgeist is more conducive to that kind of behavior. Of course you're never going to get 100% of crimes reported, but the ones that are reported are an indication, no doubt.
No, instances of sexually inappropriate behavior between teachers and students have unfortunately persisted throughout the history of the teaching profession. What has changed is not the prevalence of such behavior, but rather our awareness of it. More individuals feel empowered to come forward and speak out against misconduct these days due to more awareness and support. In past decades, these issues may have been concealed or downplayed, but today, they receive greater attention thanks to our expanded access to media platforms. Thus, while these incidents may seem more prevalent now, they were simply less visible in earlier times.
It wasn't uncommon The consequences were less enforced and the teachers would threaten the students that told Even if the student did tell the school or police would not believe them

Why does he even have students’ numbers ? That wasn’t a thing when I went to school. Only emails or you talk to them in class. I don’t think you should ever have a teacher number. ……. Times have changed
the charges were not sexual, the charges involved illicit text messages, and it involved child abuse without bodily harm. Was he selling something to students and then threatening them if they did not pay?
If you’re an adult you should basically never be texting any girl under the age of 18 , and honestly even 18 is way too young, unless that person under 18 is your own child or MAYBE your child’s friend but even then basically not unless you’re a mother. If it’s not your own child you have no business texting anyone underage basically ever. Adults should not be friends with children for any reason , again, unless it’s your own child
Yet we have all these women teachers that are actually sleeping with male students and it doesn't seem like they are getting the same kind of charges. They try to act like it isn't such a big deal and it is. Any one in authority of child no matter the sex of a child needs to be arrested, tried and jailed. They need to be put on the sex registry after a very, very, very long sentence if they even get out of jail. These crimes need to be taken seriously.
that's not true at all. adults who commit these acts regardless of gender all receive appropriate sentences. Imagine crying about gender equality when regardless this dude should be charged.
Here are some stats: A female teacher from Fort Thomas, Kentucky, who had sex with a male student multiple times, inside and outside of her classroom was sentenced to 90 days in jail. She could have faced up to five years in prison. A female teacher from Johnson County, Kansas, was sentenced to 36 months probation and must register as a sex offender for having sex with her students. She pleaded guilty to three counts of unlawful sex with a minor, which typically carries a 31-month to 13-year prison sentence. If she does not violate her probation for three years, her record will be completely cleared. A female teacher from Long Island, New York, was sentenced to six years probation for having sex with a male student. She was also required to register as a sex offender. A male teacher from Winston Salem, North Carolina, was sentenced to 26 to 33 years in prison for having sex with two female students. A male teacher was sentenced to 20 years in prison for having sex with two male students who say they were not coerced.@@orders69pizzas30
You can't put your faith in these educators any more. Exercise caution while dealing with these professionals. Take precautions for your children and give up thinking you can trust teachers. Seriously, if you don't trust your own family with your children, what makes you believe strangers won't do something bad to them?
Are there not any teachers in the teacher's lounge these teachers can hook up with? Why is it always a child? I'm glad I had good, respectful teachers in high school.
Well apparently this dude was "good" & "respectful". He had just received teacher of the month. Not speaking for you, but this stuff always makes me wonder which of my teachers were sickos. 18 years. I'm sure I was unknowingly being taught by one 🫤
Then go comment on one of those cases. There are plenty on here. The problem is that guys like my father and many men from his generation think it is a dream come true for a male student. 😂
Same thing happened to me and also to the rest of the class, when my teacher, Mr. Donald Angel spelled out the F**k word in front of me and my classmates, and it was in an elementary school, in 2010 or 2011, and if anybody lives in the west Covina area where yorbita elementary school is, please get the teacher fired, no kid is safe from his inappropriate mannerisms! So I understand where all this is coming from, we need teachers that could respect and honor the rules of education, not for the teachers to treat the school and the students, like as if they were freakin' pimps and bimbos, and to not treat the school as a exclusive club with their evil manners! School is supposed to be safe, not Satan's nightclub! 😮😤😤😡😡🤨🤨😔😔😬👁️🗨️

I would love to see the content of these messages. I'm not saying he wasn't doing anything wrong... but I've seen kids report teachers for complimenting their clothing.
I’m so glad we homeschool. Homeschooling cannot prevent my kids from ever being exposed to evil, but man, I’ve had the greatest gift of being able to equip them and prepare them for the world they are living in.
Completely respect and understand parents that take the home school route. Personally, I feel the socializing, making friends and just regular interaction with other kids from age 5 to 15 is vital to creating a well-adjusted adult. I would be worried about my kids growing up to be awkward and not socially accepted. I would just talk to my kids regularly about why they should never text or have certain interactions with there teacher. Just an opinion
@@mecca3000 I agree that socializing is important for overall development. I’d argue, however, that school is a place for learning, not socializing. But I do see your point. Thankfully, my kids are extremely social and very well-rounded. They are involved in sports within the local high school, they attend youth group, our local teen center, summer camps, and they have tons of friends. My kiddos have the most adventurous days with their friends on daily basis. It’s quite amazing. They go fishing, golfing, movies; they play basketball, baseball, football. They meet up at the library and hang out. All this is initiated by them and their peers. It’s great. And I love that they are adventurous. As a homeschooling parent, I have made it my business to ensure my kids have a great education, but also equip them to interact with the world around them. That wherever they find themselves, that they can interact and navigate those spaces with wisdom and discernment. Homeschooling goes beyond academics. Another cool fact: my boys can cook you any meal you’d like, clean, and do laundry. They are 13 and 14. I’d like to think my boys are off to a good start. My daughter who is 18, is also off on her own living and thriving. For us, homeschooling has been a gift. I wouldn’t trade it for anything. But I appreciate your insight and do respect your thoughts. I think homeschool has a stigma that quite frankly, hasn’t been our experience. And other homeschool parents I know, their kids are also excelling socially❤️.

Nowadays, somehow, I feel that the zeitgeist is more conducive to that kind of behavior. Of course you're never going to get 100% of crimes reported, but the ones that are reported are an indication, no doubt.
Lol you lie STOP 😂
No, instances of sexually inappropriate behavior between teachers and students have unfortunately persisted throughout the history of the teaching profession. What has changed is not the prevalence of such behavior, but rather our awareness of it. More individuals feel empowered to come forward and speak out against misconduct these days due to more awareness and support. In past decades, these issues may have been concealed or downplayed, but today, they receive greater attention thanks to our expanded access to media platforms. Thus, while these incidents may seem more prevalent now, they were simply less visible in earlier times.
It wasn't uncommon
The consequences were less enforced and the teachers would threaten the students that told
Even if the student did tell the school or police would not believe them
It's reported alot more* Now. In the 60s it happened more, there was just less proof and accountability.
What did he text?
He texted things like “ I want to be in your skin LOL” and “I want to kiss you all over” and “where you liked being kissed and touched” and apparently he went to all the sports games to and would text her he’s jealous when he sees her talking to others
He said “yo baby yo yo”
I am a teacher, I never look @ my students being a teacher but as a brother and sister or daughter's or son's and protector.
One of my teachers was arrested, charged, and convicted of sleeping with 1 of her students... before anyone asks yes I live in Florida.
Everybody trust teachers (Everybody trust the lowest paid)
🛑 trust parents, police, politicians, doctors, lawyers, etc oh media is the worse group of people! Speaking from experience as I've dealt with Miami media and school district as I'm banned from earning a living in Miami Dade county public schools when they school board members are the criminals! 10 year story that involves criminal FBI agents, lawyers, DOJ, etc😊❤
Oh my gosh! Stop it already. This is beyond the pale of inappropriate.
Why does he even have students’ numbers ? That wasn’t a thing when I went to school. Only emails or you talk to them in class. I don’t think you should ever have a teacher number. ……. Times have changed
Honestly I want to know what the text messages said
No. Everybody doesn’t trust teachers to take care of our kids.
Everybody trust them enough to send their kids to school
What's scarier is nobody should trust parents from raising their kids. That's even worse.
@@jahanbaxter Homeschooling is now the fastest-growing form of education in the U.S., per a Washington Post analysis. Try again.
When you don't back the teacher that have the students best interests at heart this is what we are left with!
Poor girl, she must've felt uncomfortable
nope, not at all.
he probably made her feel very special.
Disgusting
I have to know what the texts are before I make any kind of informed judgement. It's possible they were not sexual in nature.
the charges were not sexual, the charges involved illicit text messages, and it involved child abuse without bodily harm.
Was he selling something to students and then threatening them if they did not pay?
Can’t believe they call that “child abuse” lmfao
@@realistically9091if you’re trying to talk dirty to a minor and you’re a teacher, then yes that’s child abuse.
@@TheRazorTongue not by definition, just a law that makes no sense
@@realistically9091talking dirty, making inappropriate comments is abuse making threats is also abuse. Kids should not have cellphones at all
@@realistically9091so you would send explicit texts to a child?
Well I am not surprised the kind of people that are teachers these days
How did he get this girls cell phone number?
I almost spat my coffee out when they said he taught criminal justice, what awful and disgusting irony
Multiple layers of irony here. This is a bad loss for Goodwin.
Adults should not be friends with children for any reason , again, unless it’s your own child
teachers shouldn't have the phone number of students and students shouldnt have the phone number of teachers!
Let the boys have their fantasies.
u know in the sex offender registration they can even find a job ? how do you think they gonna support themselves guy?
that's not true at all. adults who commit these acts regardless of gender all receive appropriate sentences. Imagine crying about gender equality when regardless this dude should be charged.
You are a sensitive liberal worthless loser.
I guess he wanted a practical/ hands-on experience with the criminal justice system. Now he can talk about what prison is like.
Goes to show that people can definitely put on a mask! He looks very sneaky!
You can't put your faith in these educators any more. Exercise caution while dealing with these professionals. Take precautions for your children and give up thinking you can trust teachers. Seriously, if you don't trust your own family with your children, what makes you believe strangers won't do something bad to them?
Same thing goes with parents. You can't trust most parents with kids because they don't know how to parent and dont deserve to have kids
What is considered inappropriate messages ?
The parent stated he finds this “kinda concerning.” That’s it?
In his "community", the predator gets the protection.

Why are they teaching criminal justice in school? Hopefully, the class covers an individuals constitutional rights when dealing with the police.
I serve as a substitute teacher often. I see inappropriate behavior often from the dynamic of female teacher to male student. It is often ignored.
Examples?
@@rodster811 You want examples go search it up see how many
Then go comment on one of those cases.
What did he say to them?
Usual suspect.
1. He crossed the line. 2. He wanted to be friends with the students , getting their attention , so used their media , a no no. 3. This was his attempt to have them engaged in his class.( do the work) . 4. Spending so much time with adolescents can make you think like them, a no no for an adult.
Was a teacher before. Kids would wanna hang out with me during free period or walk me to my car. I'd tell them get lost. I'm your teacher. Go home and leave me the F alone 😅
I will never understand an adult would risk their freedom for an inappropriate relationship with a child. Did he think this child wouldn’t tell anyone or that he wasn’t leaving an electronic trail? This shows a lack of self discipline.
Even if a teacher dates a student over 18 that's inappropriate !!
facts
@@iiCounted-op5jx the teacher would think it's okay cause 18 or 19 or 21 but it's enough to get them fired?

Taught criminology and didn't see this one coming?
I would love to see the content of these messages. I'm not saying he wasn't doing anything wrong... but I've seen kids report teachers for complimenting their clothing.
Child predators are cunning. They will always find a way to be around children.
Very sad 😞 for all of those involved

Florida again 😑😞
They willl slap him on the hand and let him go and pay him while he's off!!!
Nah. He is not an attractive white or Hispanic woman.
Did he do it? While the media has sensationally convicted this man it still is not clear he did anything wrong.
He turned himself in… you hard of hearing?
@@OoOMonkeyCoFreakOoO Doesn’t mean he did something wrong. Just means that he didn’t run. Need to know facts and context before convicting someone. The media uses sensationalism and fear to sell ads. The fact that teen students are willing to text back and forth is wild
Kids often look up to adults in their life.
he was one of my teachers and my favorite one he was so nice 💔
He's about to eat a 35-40 year sentence for texting, good luck explaining that to the other inmates: he's going to have OAM (offence a against a minor) on his paperwork.
What. Was. Texted?!!?
Thank GOD they caught this before it went ANY further

another day in Florida
Put him in life time jail
That was my teacher and he would normally follow a lot of kids or they would follow him it’s crazy because he was a good teacher he got teacher of the month and teacher of year mutiple times it’s crazy how he just threw it all away and I heard this is not the first time he has done it he did it at another school but now because of his mistakes and the schools as well we all have to suffer because the school likes to brush it off even though they knew they messed up
I had my 8th grade student ask me for my phone number to send me a funny photo he edited of me for our silly bulliten board. I was like, "as much as I appreciate your photo skills, you are my student so please send it to my school email" See how easy that is?! Jesus.
Sounds like alot of work. I wouldnt have sent that photo to your email if you told me that over a simple text
Why do people do things like this when everything can be traced back to you ?!!

Well now he'll have plenty of time to inappropriately text students in prison. SOB.
