He was a socialist, supportive of the most deadly political ideology in the history of humanity. The guy was funny, and pointed out the hypocrisy of the situation his beliefs caused, but failed to see the source of misery. He was a cog in the machine. He recognized the machine, and the operators, but failed to see the fuel for the machine, or the best way to destroy it. Capitalism is not the problem. Capitalism breeds competition, lessening the stranglehold of the elite, who control supply, which is exactly why they have destroyed the US. They put the bombs in place in 1803 (Marbury v Madison), and have been steadily tearing down the country ever since. When they finally set off the explosion, will you be prepared? Carlin would have been shocked by it, because he didn't see it. He was blinded by cynicism, and eager to sell his worldview to the naive. Yes, there is a lot of truth in his comedy, but also an obvious blindness.

On one hand he's right. The US treats future generations as this endless supply of cheap labor and the dream of working for a house or family has evaporated into indentured servitude that's cyclical throughout the generations.
But my family only exists because parents that came from meager backgrounds dreamt they could give something better to their kids. All of human history is a story of heritage and family. I genuinely want to pass on something of my own.
I agree. Its interesting though, a lot of pessimists in the comments are hypocrites themselves. For as much as they praise Carlin for calling out America's bullshit they fail to realize the ignorance they display when applying their negative outlook on the entire world. America is a shit heap yes but plenty of other nations have higher qualities of life that doesn't fall in line with American consumerist decadence.
