The front ring is the ring for setting the shooting aperture ring. Pull it forward and set it to the shooting aperture and then you can move the aperture ring to open up for focus and then stop down to the shooting aperture by turning it until it stops at the shooting aperture.

Picked up this same lens for 35.00 usd from UK. It is amazing lens...it is said to be a rebadged Meyer Optik Lydith 30mm F3.5 and now they are remaking that lens to be sold around 750.00 usd when it gets released. They call it their magic lens.
I have several bronica zenzanon lenses and thought about getting an adapter for my xt 10... I already have an adapter for the few pentax lenses I own. do you think the cost of the adapter would be worth it?
Absolutely, if it's not expensive then I would definitely! You never know what gems you have in your collection (as far as using them with your Fuji gear)
I have a range of Pentacon lenses. The 50mm f1.8, 135 f2.8, 200 f4 and 300mm f4. I am currently looking for a 30mm f3.5 to complete the set! Using them on a couple of Sony bodies, but that is for historical reasons.

There are three rings not two. There is the stop-down preset ring. It lets you focus, meter and preselect your aperture and stop down just before pressing the shutter release.

Hey, Christopher. I know it's been two years since you wrote that comment. But I still want to thank you for mentioning the stop-down preset ring. I just bought this lense and I'm really glad to discover that I can preset aperture with it. Thank you!
