Woah, some people need to calm down... Kim, I can see that you worked incredibly hard to make this video! Compiling all that footage must have taken ages. As someone who knows almost 0 about korea this is a great list to start someone off! I'm sure these are places that your viewers will love, of course! Thank you 😘

Don’t go to Korea. Go to Hong Kong first or Tokyo. Airfares are expensive and you want the most Asian culture for your money not any substitutes. The best places to visit are the ones that look like Asia and have preserved their culture and history. Bangkok, Hong Kong, Kyoto, HoChiMin City.

Art Curious Korea has tried to do that but the war destroyed a lot of the older buildings. Dont talk bad about a country that was once burning in flames

@@salinalibohovana8663 you are correct, we went to SKorea last summer & we are going again next month to drop off my daughter who is moving there. We are from CA, SKorea is the most beautiful country i have ever visited. We did the 9day cultural tour and it was sooooo sad. SKorea has really been through it, but they are finally bouncing back and thriving.

Hongdae, and Gangnam for food, drinks, and people.
Itaewon is the expat area (go on the Street behind the Hamilton Hotel) multinational food, drinks, shopping, people, and lots of English.
Myeong-dong and Dongdaemun for shopping and sightseeing.
Subway is super easy with colors and numbers. Taxis are cheaper than the US, Europe, or Japan.
Waze is good for navigation, Kakao is Hangouts/Skype/maps get it, and Google Translate is take picture functional for translation. Think menu.
    Have fun and enjoy.

Stuff I really enjoyed doing in Seoul:
    - booked a tour from Seoul to visit the DMZ
    - stayed in a hanok where they gave you traditional breakfast and let you try on a hanbok
    - lots of reasonably priced massage places
    - watch buskers in Hongdae
    - visit the Hongdae free market (lots of beautiful handmade stuff. I bought a keyring and a rabbit doll made from socks)
    - enjoy the nightlife (pub, club, or just walking around the busy areas taking in the different atmosphere compared to daytime)
    - I went to Silloam spa rather than Dragon Hill. Not sure if one is better than the other but I really liked that one and they have lots of different rooms of different temperatures/things in them (salt etc)
    - Sanchon in Insadong does beautiful Korean food in a gorgeous building but it's vegetarian (I'm not vegetarian so doesn't matter for me. The food was delicious)
Lots and lots to do. You'll never be bored :)

bur to be honest, kimbab is not the Korean sushi.....
    sushi is Japanese food
well Kimbab and sushi are diffirent food each other
therefore Kimbab is just Korean food with salted sea weed, rise, meet(sometimes tuna) and lots of kind vege
It's totally diffirent with sushi anyway
There are sushi looks like a Kimbab, the name is California roll in Japan 😊
Anyway thanks for announcing Korean culture!!

The spicy rice cakes are one of my favorites. Bukchon Village is a beautiful walk, although tiring as it is very hilly. North Seoul Tower is a must, as even the trip up the cable car and incline is fun. Korean fried chicken is the best on the planet! You missed two of my favorites. I love the dish called Jjimdok, and Korean professional baseball i s a must. They have the most energetic baseball culture I have ever seen. Games in Seoul are played at Jamsil Stadium in the 1988 Olympic Village near the Lotte Tower.

Y'know... I've been to Korea, Japan and China and I mostly planned the trip myself and also travelled alone. The thing is, it is SO easy to find out about attractions you wanna visit, it's literally just looking at the metro map or typing in the name of the city on google.
What is hard to figure out on your own, even if you're there, is where to shop and eat and what to eat. There are SO MANY different shops and foods and you're just overwhelmed by everything. Which is why I only visited a restaurant once in Korea. They're pretty hard to find as well... it's not like there's a big sign screaming restaurant like McDonalds has it.
They are small doors and if you don't know it's there, you just go past it. I WISH I would have known about some of these stores when I was there! I love Korean history and traditions and visited all the major Museums, palaces and temples but you need breaks in between as well or they will all look the same and you'll just go through it to "have seen it". Trust me. I've travelled 5 weeks in Asia in total ( 2 in Japan, 1 in China, 2 in SK) and that's just how it is....
So... yeah....I didn't mean to offend you with this or anything, that's just my experience here :)

    • @carinedemolin7832
      @carinedemolin7832 6 лет назад +3

@@HanonTsukani mate, you obviously haven't tried really hard with the restaurants. In 4 trips to Korea we've only eaten at McDs twice, just to try the local menu. There's literally restaurants round every street corner. With one exception, everywhere we've eaten was awesome and there's so many things to try. Dakgalbi, stews, BBQ, Korean fried chicken, tonkatsu, jajjangmyeon, etc... We actually never have enough time to try everything we wanted.

As a korean, I don't recommend to go to dog cafes cuz they are mostly stressed by new people(dogs don't like being touched by strangers and what a worse extremely stressed dogs would bite you). Furthermore, it's one of the most popular issues in korea that if the dog cafe is closed, the dogs will be abandoned or sent to puppymills (even they could be 🍖) so if you really love animals, the best way to love them is not to go the dog(animal) cafes

Don't go to Dragon Hill Spa it is not a good sauna. There are way to many foreigners. You will not get a real Korean experience there. Also why did you leave out Lotte World Mall? It is one of the newer Malls in Seoul. They also hold a lot of events in the center court or outside around the mall. Like right now they have a Halloween display set out right outside the mall. There is a nice walking area around Seoul Station it is called Seoullo 7017.It opened earlier this year. There is so much to do in Seoul not just what was mentioned in this video.
    -Deoksugung Doldam-gil and Deoksugung place
    -Ihwa Mural Village | Seoul
    -Seonyudo Park
    -Seoul Forest
-Haneul Park (its the most beautiful during spring and summer)
    -Bongeunsa Temple
-The DMZ( outside of Seoul, but their are a lot of tours you can sign up for)

She made this video, based on HER experiences, and HER tastes and aesthetics. And she pointedly said that there was so much to do in Seoul and of course couldn't put all of it into a video. If someone tried to make a video of EVERYTHING there is to do in Seoul, it wouldn't be a RUclips video, it would be a week long documentary. Or longer. If you want to try doing that, then go for it. Otherwise, make your own videos that apply to YOUR experiences and YOUR tastes and aesthetics.

When I was in Seoul the last time ( Like 2011) there were only a few restaurants that offered vegetarian main dishes on the menu. I guess that maybe like when I visited Vietnam, some people in restaurants seemed to feel like you are trying to be a cheapskate when you order a vegetarian dish … I ended up having to eat a meat dish at some places because the staff pretended like they did not understand when my friend and I clearly requested a vegetarian dish for me. However, hopefully 🙏🏿 things have changed now that vegetarian eating is more widespread. I hope your family enjoys your time in Seoul!

I'm only commenting because I think it would be helpful to you while making videos in the future and help you understand what your audience is thinking when clicking away from a video, so I hope you'll understand that if you ever even read this but... I'm a person who lives in Korea and has for a long time. I'm always looking for things to do, so I clicked on this video. I found it not super watchable because I was hoping the video would include more things that were specific to Seoul to do. So the many items on the list that were simply like "eat bingsu" were not at all helpful or interesting for me. This could be fixed by doing something like finding a place only in Seoul that served a particularly good or interesting version of bingsu or whatever it is you're talking about and talking about that in the entry. I'd be less likely to click away. Don't feel bad, you're obviously putting a lot of work in, just trying to help. :)

Great video. The images and your editing were awesome! Thought the list wasn't helpful for me, not everyone travels just to buy and eat, I understand that's what appeals to you, so it was very interesting to watch.

Is it cheaper to buy Korean skincare from brand website or website that carries loads of different Korean skincare brands? I’m from Australia … What you recommend? xx

Hmm to be honest I'm not too sure, some sites offer deals on shipping which is a huge factor. StyleKorean has a lot of good selection for Korean makeup/skincare!

I ate the BHC cheese chicken today. Great recommendation. The taste is amazing, but what confused me was how their chicken is much better than American chicken. America doesn't have the right to use "tender" to describe their chicken. This BHC chicken really does surprises you with its tenderness.

some of these places are really basic and like aren't the best suggestions but she doesn't live here so it's understandable. some are the famous spots. dont recommend the lotte tower though because the price is ridiculous for the experience. she left out the amusements parks and a BUNCH of other interesting and unique experiences :/

Interesting how Dosirak is a bento, while in the Russian Far East it's the name for all instant noodles, because the first ones we got were from Korea and they were called Doshirak ( not sure about spelling, but we pronounce it this way)

i'm planning to go on a 3 months vakation to coutnry's. i will barely take any stuff with me, only the most important stuff like toothpaste, toothbrush, a hair brush and hairmousse, deodorant, earpuds, sunglasses, pills, my laptop, camera, charger, laptop charger, camera battery's, power bank, my Phone (and my other 5 just in case), clean undies (obviously), socks, and the most important clothing i need. for warm days: shorts, and 2 T-shirts. for average days: a cute blousse, and a nice jeans. for cold days: my oversized sweater, and again, jeans. i will also take warm socks with me on cold days and flip flops for warm days. i will also take good and strong shoes with me. and a nice book for in the plane. and a bottle of water.
what will i put in the case,
    1: sweater,
    2: jeans,
    3: lots of socks,
    4: my laptop,
5: all my chargers and battery's,
    6: my T-shirts,
    7: toothbrush and toothpaste,
    8: deodorant,
    9: clean undies,
    10: shorts,
    11: blousse,
    12: some warm socks,
    13: flip flops,
    14: hairbrush and hairmousse.
    what goes in my bag,
    1: my Phone,
    2: my wallet,
    3: my powerbank,
    4: medication pills,
    5: a bottle of water,
6: my camera and one extra battery,
    7: earpuds,
    8: sunglasses,
    9: book.
what i will wear on the plane,
    1: long jeans,
    2: t-shirt or a blousse,
    3: nice and strong shoes,
    4: average socks,
5: a leather (or a denim) jacket for if it's cold.
    6: a nice hat.
make-up isn't that important so let's forget about that. and why i wrote all this, is just in case you want to go on this long a vakation as well. then you will have an idea of what you should bring with you, or you just have a complete list of what to take with you and what to wear (average clothing: not too cold, not too warm) so you don't have to make that list all by yourself. of course whats also very handy to take with you is a lot of money when you go on vakation. and it's most fun to take friends or just one friend with you. that'll make it more fun, but of course you won't pay anything for them because you need that money for yourself. you're welcome.
