I could remember few years back after my wife died, I was left alone with 3 kids. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder, got addicted to fentanyl. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment changed my life for better. I can proudly say i'm totally clean for 6 years and still counting. Always look to nature for solution to tough problems, Shrooms are phenomenal.

I suffered through 15 years of addiction. I turned myself in so I could get help. Went through the whole program and as soon as I was done I relapsed. My family and friends stood by my side the whole time. I thought that the program failed me but I failed the program. That's when I realized that the ultimate decision to get clean was up to me. The one thing I did take away from the program was figuring out what my triggers were. As I knocked them down one by one, I started getting better. One day I had enough and went to church. I cried so hard on my knees before god. He saved me. My life is better now than it ever has been. The only thing I can say is DON'T GIVE UP. FIGHT THE GOOD FIGHT. Trust me life on the otherside is amazing. Don't be afraid it's the toughest road I've ever traveled. As I walked through the valley of the angel of death I feared no evil. You can beat the hell your in. Take it head on,embrace it, you will win. I've been sober for a year now. Wish I could help everyone in your videos. Peace

I started 10 years ago, and have been sober for 7 years. The reason they say cigarettes are actually harder to quit than heroin is because of one thing: Accessibility
    1. Leave the area you’re in
    2. Get a completely new number
    3. Delete social media or any way contact people from your old life
    4. Succumb to the withdrawal
It isn’t easy to do, but it’s definitely harder to quit if you don’t change people/ places/ things

The worst part of withdrawal isn't even the puking or diarrhea, it's the amount of pain you are in. Pain I pray I'll never feel again. I couldn't keep myself away no matter how many times I got "clean" I had to leave Philly. The hold that shit has over you is like the grim reaper calling out to you in a way you can't possibly resist. NICK READ THIS : When they say they don’t want to be sick they mean they don’t want to withdrawal. Fent withdrawals are hell day one you’re going to have nausea, Diarrhea, anxiety, body aches to the point you don’t even want to get out of bed. Every single day after that until day 7/8 all of those symptoms get worse and worse every single day. Especially the anxiety day 2 it will get to the point you’re about to explode the anxiety is the one thing that keeps people going back to doing the fent. There’s nothing in this world I can even use to compare how bad the anxiety is and how bad you feel while withdrawing from fent.

Yes, it is so sad. Many of these street people have underlying mental illness that hasn't been diagnosed and just want to find peace within. Street drugs are a quick fix. Unfortunately, the addiction is a disease in itself. We need medical personnel who have a good heart who understands this. Many doctors will get you hooked on pain meds that lead to death. A good doctor will help shut down the "pill mills".

I quit heroin in 2009. Yes, it sucks. I did it with no help, no rehab, no nothing. For the first 7 days the body just goes haywire but it’s no worse than a bad flu. You’ll get hot, then cold, then hot again. You’ll throw up, have low energy, your emotions will be all over the place. You need to eat, sleep, and shower. You’ll have headaches, body aches, and a bad attitude. But it isn’t anything you can’t live through. The next 7 days you start to feel better, your body temp starts to get more normal, you throw up less, and the headache fades away. With each day you feel your body getting more normal. It can be done! It’s hard but it is not impossible. Throwing up a few times won’t kill you but these drugs will kill you. Also, get away from the people that are also getting high, throw away the dealers phone number. Move away if you have to. Or die early, it’s your choice.

Withdrawals from heroin are sadly not a bit that hard as from fentanyl or also methadone!!!
I don’t know tranq (thank god) but together with fentanyl it must be the worst…
I have done plenty withdrawals from heroin and I tried some from methadone,
and I truly can say that you can’t complain it at all…!!
      But noone should give up
      - with medical help (like slowly reducing it, plus other medication for sleeping, stomach issues, restlessness, ect. ) it can work…

@@heatherwade2373 ,it’s not worse than a bad flue‘- I often heard that from people with a good old heroin withdrawal (and I believe that it’s not true either…)🤷‍♀️
But neither than other, much stronger opioid withdrawals (like from methadone or just a much higher dose of heroin) needs much more time (up to three month!) to go through, also the symptoms are much worse!!
,You need to sleep, eat and shower‘…
On every single withdrawal that I was,
all three of this was a big issue:
I can’t eat nearly anything for weeks, I can’t sleep for weeks too, and I was far too weak to take a shower!
Throwing up was not the only digestive tract problem- having bad diarrhea, nausea and heavy stomach pain was also always there!
Then every single muscle in your body hurts heavily-
mostly the leg muscles but also arm muscles…
But the worst was that unbelievable weakness in combination with an unbelievable unrest, depression and hopelessness!
A minute gets literally into a couple of hours in your feeling
and there was literally nothing that makes feel you a bit better…
Sometimes a warm bath helps a bit, but coming out of that bathtub was so hard then,
that I nearly collapsed because of the weakness and the circulation problems!
Every step was such a hard thing and you feel literally like a hundred-year-old…
      - just awful!
Than you make it to your bed and as soon as you lay there that horrible restlessness takes control over you again…your head and brain with all your thoughts and nightmares drives you so crazy,
and then no sleep at all!
      It’s just a day- and week-long nightmare
and I’m talking just from a heroin or methadone withdrawal (the more pain with methadone is that it just lasts so much longer!! Up to literally 3 months…)
Can you imagine how a fentanyl or tranquilizers withdrawal must feel?!
      Unbelievable…
But we still judging this people and say easily : ,oh- they just need more will to quit…‘,
plus : ,they get every options for a rehab everywhere‘…
      What a joke!!
To worsening the situation so much more in the last months,
all those horrible wounds have afflicted so much of the homeless and addicted people out there, that it gets more and more absolutely horrific!!
And people like you, who tell that’s it’s just that ,easy‘ are also not very helpful…sorry!
It’s good that you get out of this hell, but you had a lot of luck too…

Every time I thought about relapsing, I was always so afraid of getting something that had traces of fentanyl in it, and how the market has completely changed in just these past several years. I've never been more thankful to have gotten out of the scene and gotten clean when I did, because I guarantee that I wouldn't even be alive today with the amounts that I was doing at a time. Crazy to see. I hope everyone well, and for people to not judge those currently in the grasps of active addiction. Everything these people said about why they use and the mentality of it all with waking up and going to use to get well - just to feel normal, to not be so sick in withdrawal. You truly never understand unless you've been through it. I wish health and peace to all, you are strong, you can do this, you matter, and you are loved. We all make mistakes, you can be a better person then what you were the day before, and that's all that matters, just keep pushing on, remember that. You got this. 🖤🖤

@@skittlessunshine5518 Oh, ,I know!! I'm not a bad person. I'm a former opioid addict. I was just lucky to never go further than Percocet, Vicodin and the occasional Dilaudid or morphine patch. I overdosed but I was never anywhere near the kind of life these poor ppl in Kensington live. I found an addiction psychiatrist and got better with the help of Buprenorphine-(,Subutex) and a lot of therapy. It took me a really long time but I did get better. If you look at my picture close up( it's 20 yrs old- I was 30 in the picture) no one believed I was an opioid addict. This picture was taken at the very beginning of my addiction though, by the end I certainly didn't look as healthy as I do here. I was very pale, sweaty, and I just looked sick. I know the horrible cravings and anxiety that come with withdrawal, believe me. I'm so grateful for my addiction psychiatrist and Buprenorphine/Subutex!!!!!!!

    Heartbreaking… absolutely heartbreaking.
I can testify to the power of addiction. Addiction will grab you and take control of your life.
To have the mental strength to quit, isn’t common. Without addressing the core issues that are the “why”… you’ll probably never break the cycle. Addiction is the result of trying to escape physical pain, struggles, memories, mental trauma and so much more. And a lot of people didn’t have the protected childhood to properly develop the tools needed… especially if they were hurt in those early years.
It’s not as easy, as just saying “I want to quit.”

Saying "they are just afraid to be sick for a few days" really downplays the suffering. Sure, it's just a few days, days that would breeze by normally- but during withdrawal, every minute feels like an eternity. Nothing distracts you from the feeling as though you are dying, you're throwing up with diarrhoea, you're both freezing cold and burning hot and sweating all at the same time, you feel a sense of anxiety and doom as though the world is about to collapse in on itself, and there's no escape, no reprieve, as you can't even sleep for 5-7 days. Not only that, but your body aches and you don't even have the energy to get out of your sweaty bed and so much as shower- you can barely even get up to use the bathroom. You have no appetite and even drinking water makes you ill, as you're losing all your fluids through vomiting/diarrhoea/sneezing/watery eyes. That week, it feels like a month. That's what makes it so difficult and the extreme time dialation is what I think most people don't really grasp.

Opiate addiction is something that never really goes away… even if you do manage to quit, those withdrawals and cravings are brutal, sometimes to the point where you can’t physically move. Very painful either way. And that lady made a good point: don’t take something just because the doctor prescribes it to you. It doesn’t take a lot to get hooked forever. Truly a vicious cycle.
