SAMPLE CALL/EMAIL:
Hello,
My name is [YOUR NAME], and I am reaching out on behalf of Ashley Loring Heavy Runner. I would like to express my concern about the way in which her case has been handled since her disappearance.
After reviewing the case, I believe not enough action has been taken to look for Ashley, and find the person responsible for her disappearance. The burden has fallen on Ashley’s family and the community and should be the responsibility of your agency to follow through with.
The evidence collected by the Loring family, including the sweater, boots, and carpet, should have been processed with a sense of urgency. Although details of an active investigation must remain private, I am here to respectfully request that you provide the public with useful updates on the status of Ashley’s case, and do so with regularity.
I ask that you continue to show Ashley and her family the time and respect they deserve and that you do not stop until justice is served.
I appreciate your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME]

This is absolutely horrific. And for them to just leave it in a box, and possibly lose the sweater. The effort here is below bare minimum.

“Sam has a history of making women feel uncomfortable.” I literally feel uncomfortable through the screen! He’s a sick freak. He definitely freaked her out, she reacted, and he killed her in a method out rage. I feel SO sorry for all the indigenous women who go unnoticed. You are important, and we see you! 💗
I was just saying they haven't looked further at that old guy Sam? Everything he is saying is sketchy asf and it's almost like he put her in the woods somewhere. He said she always randomly went into the woods alone with no explanation, that's sketchy. He said he seen her days after no one else hasn't, that just doesn't make sense. Now he has an obsession with looking for her and from looking at her ex boyfriend I don't believe she was having sex with this man, maybe she did drugs with him but the sex I don't believe it.
He got her hooked on meth in return for sexual favours. She was asking her sister for money too. Probably pimping her out as well.
He made my skin crawl. His comment about dating younger women was foul

I live in the UK. I had absolutely no idea there was such a disproportionate amount of unsolved cases in indigenous women. This is truly shocking. This should be known worldwide. Truly a disservice to these tribes. My thoughts and prayers go out to the community.
What no media will tell you is that indigenous men disappear without a trace four times more often than indigenous women. It’s just that very few people care, so no one knows that statistic. The trail of tears includes all genders.
I was going over these stats with one of my coworkers a couple months ago and he had no idea either and he had just moved from New Mexico which has a lot of native reservations.
Yes, this country is truly criminal😩👀 its terrible.
The women are thought to be trafficked. It doesn't help the reservations are OVERRUN with alcohol and drugs. Domestic violence is a huge issue on the reservations too, as is poverty. Put all that together....
It’s the same here in Australia with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples… unless they are the perpetrators, law enforcement doesn’t seem to care about the victims. Basically, if you’re missing, don’t be a woman or indigenous… it’s awful!

Same. I felt that.
I am so grateful for this exposure on how poor the justice system treats not only the Indiginous community as a whole, but specifically Indiginous women. So many families with no justice or trust in the system to receive the justice they rightfully deserve.
The indigenous men need to seek help for their anger. They are hurting the women and not protecting them AT ALL.
@@smurfylee you have to keep in mind how much trauma our people have been through, residential schools and abuse from colonization runs in our blood now and we are still working through to try and overcome it. the men are just as affected by this as us women are. i truly hope this case gets exposure and gets answers for ashley and her family.
The federal government has its hands tied to a large extent. The reservations are considered sovereign nations, and it’s very difficult for US law enforcement to get anything done, or to even gain access to the evidence or to the reservations at all. Like Kendall said, the BIA law enforcement has done NOTHING with the evidence the family uncovered. The FBI has no access to that evidence.
@@smurfylee I agree with you.
The Tribal Police need to be held accountable for dropping the ball on these cases. Happens all the time!
Coming from a Native American mother and African American father, I thank you so much for shining the light on these missing women of color. Especially native women. They (statistically) go without the most justice, atm. I pray that this family will figure out what happened to this young woman, and that justice will be served.
"When a native woman goes missing, she disappears twice" that was super heart breaking 💔
I don't understand it
As a Canadian, I have to say that the amount of missing indigenous women in our country is INSANE. Thank you for spreading awareness Kendall💗
Yeah, it really is sad. I'm in Toronto, but went out to BC to work on HVAC systems in the remote telephone stations along the highways there. I spotted more than a few underage native girls hitchhiking, or passed out drinking Listerine or drugs. Some of them were so far from any towns that it's obvious they were just left there by someone. I saw one girl in Chilliwack face down in the middle of a parking lot, and the police just circled around her and took a quick look, then drove off. Not only does no one care about them, they're seen as a nuisance in most communities. All that Justin Trudeau campaign for them is a total act.
@@RByrne that is awful. I'm Nova scotian and I wish more True Crime RUclipsrs covered missing indigenous women cases like Ashley's. Even from Canada, as they get so little media coverage💔
I’m from Canada too and it is such a huge problem that is barely ever talked about.
I was just thinking it’s possible indigenous women are criminally targeted more because the offenders know that there isn’t hardly any coverage for these cases and use it to their advantage. I hope not but just a thought I had.
@@Alannameyers yeah, sadly I think the same thing. Racial minorities are always p*dos, human traffickers, and murderers "ideal" victims for the fact that they're less likely to get full media coverage/ push back.

Thanks for covering. And giving the resources of how to help.
I do believe in a lot of cases of Indigenous women being trafficked and murdered, that the police departments are corrupt and are involved in the rings. There is an incredibly strong and powerful Native woman on TikTok who talks about her case TW: EXTREME violence against women! (she was kidnapped, sex trafficked, and eventually tried to get arrested so she could be found and the police sent her back to her captors instead of taking her to the department to be fingerprinted. Her captors then tried to brutally murder her and left her for dead but she miraculously survived. She exposed the ring and is getting justice against them.) As we all know, police can cover things up and do horrible, awful things to people with impunity and it’s outrageous and infuriating. I mean that 80% statistic Kendall quoted is heartbreaking. Corruption is absolutely involved.
I couldn't agree more with you here, there is such a disregard and it's heartbreaking to hear about/read about. I just finished researching and sharing a case on my little true crime channel about exactly that where the victims were not valued in the slightest and so that case carried on for over a decade. It's horrendous.

I am 100% on board. One of the other channels I watch, asked subscribers to call the police department involved in a case. After 2 days, the pd announced they would be taking action. It was a good feeling.
I can't imagine a dad seeing daughter panicking like that, and agrees not to look out the window because she told him not to, but then let's her leave with this person...??? That is just bizarre
I’m confused
They have a different culture
No it's more like don't look so they don't see we're home type of don't look
Exactly and she's all panicked and upset? It's so strange.
@JJ Yea and my response was to clarify that her saying that had nothing to do with our native customs. Not because you don't want someone to know you're home. She left then probably because they saw him and knew she was there. I be in my house tryna dodge ppl too telling everyone don't open those curtains
it’s so disgusting that the family have done the most work in this case. it’s traumatic enough for you to lose a loved one, but when you know that the family are the only people that are truly following her disappearance trail - it really puts into perspective the injustice. i can not imagine how hard it is to have to go over everything the police does, just because they didn’t do it correctly; how difficult it is to keep fighting when nobody else is helping you find your answers. i hope ashley and her family receive their justice 🤍

@@gabrielleroussel6676 I'm aware. that's why I didn't propose it as a concrete solution, notice the word "imagine", but there's plenty of room in between "every missing person getting coverage as saturated as Petito" and "it's unrealistic" and we have a LOT of room to move towards said middle ground. and is it really that unrealistic?? true crime has a massive audience. in a world where the elite are seriously working with a goal to colonize Mars I don't think it's THAT unrealistic a goal for all missing ppl to get the same coverage as Gabby Petito. if enough mega rich ppl wanted it it would already be done. it's troubling that your very first response on a comment such as mine, on a video of a missing and possibly murdered Indigenous woman, is to immediately shut it down as "unrealistic" 🙃

What makes me so sad in this case and with just about every case we see where it involves violence against women, the victim’s personal life and integrity is put into the spotlight in the most punitive way. Very personal details about her life, her past, and her actions are made public and open for judgement and scrutiny. I so appreciate how Kendall always first talks about who these women are as people and who they really were/are. But it’s so sad just how women are treated overall in crimes like this. I love the idea of the her justice organization. I only wish I knew about this sooner. My mom had to leave the country because she was undocumented, and has crippling multiple sclerosis. My dad knew she and myself (minor at the time) depended on him financially and abused this power. Often times, I'd come home from school and realize my dad didn't help her with a single thing. Didn't give her food, help her use the bathroom.. etc bare necessities. She was so afraid to call the police because she was undocumented and didn't want to lose me to foster care.

@@yoshita4140 you seem like someone who would argue statistics about black males raping so why bother with you 😂 you can look it up
Thank you so much for covering this case! Unsolved cases are the ones we should never forget about. I pray one day this family gets the answers & closure they so painfully deserve.
Well said . Ngl , I don’t particularly like unsolved cases bc there’s not a sense of closure like solved cases …and knowing that the criminals are likely still living among us is spine chilling. However, these cases need to be kept “alive” , it’s so important to continue to talk about them ,as you said in order the increase the chances for the family to get the justice one day 🙏🏾
It should not be that family members are out gathering evidence on a missing person's case! This is outrageous.
God, im not even halfway done with this video and I am heartbroken. Hearing her sisters talk about her brought immediate tears to my eyes. Such a beautiful soul I hope she is found and some sort of peace is brought to the family.
As a defendant of The BlackFoot Tribe my heart breaks at the statistics I just heard. I scream out loud WHY are they not listed as missing??? It’s like they are disposable or something and I get angry! Those beautiful women are mothers, sisters , daughters like any other woman that goes missing ! They deserve what any other missing person would get and so much more !!
Yes!! They definitely do!!
They should send the items to be tested by a private lab
The town of Browning MT seems to be the most dangerous town for anyone! I saw at least a dozen people missing or murdered in that one small town in the last few years! SCARY! I found it on podcast Up and Vanished that does a season on this case and it was so good but also so infuriating. Thank you for covering this story!
Thank you for covering this case. I’m from Montana and so so many native women go missing and are never found and the case is just never talked about. We need more people like you with platforms to speak up ❤️
Hey Kendall, I don't know if you have seen anything about it but maybe you can do something about Naomi Irion, 18 yrs old, who was kidnapped in Fernley, NV March 12, 2022. You are so tactful when you do these videos and have a huge following so thought maybe it would help if you could cover it.
There is a link to case request forms under the video, that's the best way to make sure Kendall sees this :)
@@k.a.236 Thank you! I didn't know that. I sent in a request
Wow. Pretty recent case
Fernley?? Im from Reno and I think ive seen multiple missing posts on fb wow im glad its getting exposure it deserves!
Wow. This case is so recent 🙏 I hope they can find her soon and that she's well
A movie on Netflix that really opened my eyes to missing Indigenous women was "Wind River". It's on Netflix and soo well done. It's intense, so TW, but very, very good. I recommend it to anyone whenever I can.
1:55 The people who govern the reservations need to be held accountable, period.
Thank you so much for discussing this case! I'm Native and have studied the laws and such around MMIW and it can be tricky to understand. I appreciate your thoughtfulness towards the situation and encouraging change! Another crazy thing is with sovereign government jurisdiction is that for the most part they aren't able to properly prosecute a nonnative and can only give a maximum of a year in prison even if it's the murder of a native girl/woman (there has been some policy change in this but still true on many reservations).
I first learned of the atrocities of the BIA when I was a kid. Then later read about it in historical fiction. I was in my early 20s in the early aughts when I learned the BIA still existed and I was sickened. It boggles my mind how a government institution can continue with such a HORRIFIC past. I’m not sure what should replace but I imagine Indigenous communities would have some ideas about that. I know SOME things have changed within the BIA over the decades but the history is just so sad. We can send billions in foreign and military aid overseas but can’t manage to help our own Indigenous nations.
Hope the baby, Josh, all the pets and you are all doing well🤍
As a law enforcement officer; and a friend of the indigenous community I definitely agree that there is not much support when it comes to missing indigenous women but you also have to take into account that indigenous communities DO NOT want those who are non native on their land nor in their community under any circumstances. More people would be willing to help if they were welcomed.
As a Native Woman, Veteran, and someone who was born and raised in Montana ... THANK YOU KENDALL FOR THIS COVERAGE!!! I am in tears. 😭
There is not enough news talking about this epidemic... for decades it has been next to none. Our generational curses are real. And unfortunately we all know some body who is/has gone missing. 💔 I even stopped hitch hiking.
Your mic distance is fine lol. Never noticed that. Your audio always sounds great and I think everyone enjoys your voice otherwise you wouldn't be so popular.
Almost cried watching this, truly broke my heart.Ashley and her family deserve justice and answers
Thank you for covering this story I worked on a Apache reservation for 8 months doing service work for them and I LOVE them with all my heart I got to learn and see their hearts and culture and it’s amazing. The women are strong resilient and beautiful. While I was there so many went missing one was found chopped up in a box and no one ever did anything about it. So bringing their cases to light is HUGE thank you so so much.
My heart break's for Kimberly. My sister passed away February 3, 2017 and her cause of death undetermined and it haunts me to this day, I can only imagine the heartache of not being able to find her or knowing what happened to her. I live in Fairbanks, Alaska and the amount of missing Indigenous women here in my home state is appalling. I pray that Ashley is found one day soon as well as answer's for her beloved family and friend's.
The Up and Vanished podcast did a whole series on this case. It’s worth a listen. Quite the cast of characters. Payne Lindsey interviewed most of the people in your episode. Including the sister, Tee, Sam, the list goes on.
I’m about halfway through but I’m certainly disappointed Kendall didn’t mention this!! Payne gathered so much information on this case. Definitely worth spreading the word
@@carrieharlow435 that was my thoughts. I made that comment and Kendall did respond that she wasn't aware of it, and didn't use it as a reference for the case. That saddens me, because that just goes to show its not getting out there like it should.
It's a very good podcast. I've been listening to it for a few weeks now.
Thank you for the reference. I will definitely give it a listen.
Where can I find this podcasts series? 👀
hope you and the baby girl are happy and healthy! thank you for still uploading 🤍
We are thank you 💕🥰
Did she have the baby?
@@Baldjotarokujo nope! i think she’s due around august!
@@meganwilliams3902 oooh okay
As an indigenous women myself, i really appreciate how much you genuinely care about the lives of indigenous women. You are one of the only youtubers who has covered multiple cases about mmiw. So thank you from the bottom of my heart.
This is unbelievably heartbreaking. So many women, men and children being let down by those who are supposed to get them justice! Your videos bring these stories into the spotlight, which in turn, puts pressure on law enforcement. Much needed pressure.
In Canada, at least 70% of aboriginal female victims are murdered by aboriginal men. Aboriginal women are 3 times more likely than non-aboriginal women to suffer from DV.
The zoom in on the “little white dog” made me giggle. So precious he wants to be near you but not up there😂
Dang, her family should start their own law enforcement department; they're obviously the only competent people investigating anything there.
The woman who keeps accusing people of offing her definitely either did something, assisted with doing something, or knows who did it. In my opinion, she should at the very least be charged with impeding an investigation, along with her boyfriend or ex or whoever the man accusing her back was.
I feel so terrible for the family and injustice they received. Not just the family but for Ashely as well. It makes me so angry and I cannot imagine the pain and anger the family has. I am so very sorry for your loss and the way you have been treated. I signed the petition and will keep your family, and Ashley in my prayers.
I visited Montana last year, a state which has a lot of Reservation territories all throughout. Just in the week I was there, in a very sparsely populated state, I received 4 Amber alerts for missing indigenous females on my iPhone… it broke my heart. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and RARELY see Amber alerts here. That was when the problem of violence and crimes against the indigenous population really hit me. I couldn’t believe it. Something needs to be done, and this kind of exposure just might help. Thank you ❤️
It’s very true. So unfortunate. Prayers for family 🙏🏼
😞😣😢
I'm also indigenous & I've friend that have went missing & murdered & I'm so grateful for you Kendall to cover this for this family You're an amazing lady, God Bless & pls keep these videos coming
I’m so sorry, I hope you’re doing okay after such a terrible loss. The way Native women are treated desperately needs to change.
That poor family I just want to wrap her sister up in a huge hug and tell her she is doing enough!!! She's her sisters voice.
Thank you for covering her case. Indigenous voices deserve to be heard. 🧡
Same thing is happening on the Navajo Nation. My uncle Matthew Etsitty has been missing since December 22, 2021 and we asked the police in Farmington AZ to help search an area and they said they would show and never did…. My family is on their own searching for my uncle. It’s so frustrating how the tribe does nothing to help our people 💔💔💔💔💔
Damn I really said I need a 40 minute video let me go to Kendall’s page. And here you are with a new one. THANK YOU MAMA! Sending love.
Literally JUST lastnight I came to look at her videos thinking I needed some Kendall too and so was excited to see it pop up like a present in my feed today.
Yessss! I’m so happy that you’re one of the few who actually spreads awareness for Native Women! Us Native Women have to stay alert in our surroundings and I thank you for showing this!
Driving around Oklahoma, I drove past numerous billboards about missing native women. It's sad. OK takes a lot of pride in all the nations based in the state. I wonder if it has to do with some nations, being sovereign, preferring to investigate their own cases rather than turning them over to U.S. authorities?
I live in Prince Rupert BC Canada at the end of the highway of tears! Thank you for bringing awareness to this case! 🧡🧡🧡
The film Wind River is a fictional story about the investigation of a woman's murder on a Native American reservation. Highly recommend it as it has an important message on this topic.
I’m an indigenous woman. I’m glad you’re using your platform to speak up about Ashley. I’m hoping the family and many other families find the closure they are looking for.
This is absolutely heartbreaking. The lack of interest by law enforcement 😔😭
I feel so incredibly sad that this family and all indigenous families are being overlooked.....this was their land first..... we all should be ashamed by this...... we've got to do better. i will. thank you for this story.
DNA testing should be opened to families for cases like this. 😞
Petition signed. I hope it helps. I pray one day Ashley will come home one way or another.
Your voice is so easy to listen to, your diction is excellent - love the wee doggies & cat too. ❤️☘️🙏🏼🐶🌼❄️☕️☕️☕️
