thank you for having the courage to talk about money and how much things cost! I often wonder where that idea of not talking about money and salaries comes from. It must have been from someone who had something to hide in order to profit. And we all play along to our own financial detriment. Thanks again for helping us to wake up a little bit more!
The horseback riding lessons cost $50. My family had a really hard time paying for lessons so I had to take 2 month breaks every once and a while but we figured out a way to not have to take breaks anymore: lessons every other week.
I love horses. I have a horse. I just learned to canter yesterday!!!! It was soooo fun!!!!
You shouldn't own a horse until you are jumping (or doing what ever your discipline is really well) or like 5 years of experience
I deff agree there should be more conversations about money, and budgeting when it comes to horses! Horses aren't cheap, but in the long run, it is worth it to own a horse. I do love the partnership that your form with your horse, and how it is like a journey when owning and riding! Every riding session is like a training session and bonding moment for you and your equine companion. There are a lot of ups and downs, but in the end, it is so worth it! My lessons cost $55 for a private, and $40 for a training ride (where the trainer rides the horse.) Board for me is $425 a month, and includes a stall, daily turn out, am and pm feeding, hay, and blanketing. I have to buy the grain which is about $24.90 a month, and then he gets shoes in the summer which is $90.10 every six to eight weeks. In the fall/winter, he goes barefoot, which is about $50 around every six to eight weeks as well. Shots twice a year and dental annually.

$26 fly spray? I use this fly spray (I think the brand is called bronco) from tractor supply and other riding stores. It is usually from $9 to $20 depending on where you buy it.
Somewhere I heard avon's skin so soft was a good fly and mosquitoe spray if you have an Avon representative in your area I think it works and smells sooo much better🤩😉

I have 2 horses. They both have horse shoes. They are boarded at a barn where the rough boarding is $500 and the normal boarding is $900. So we pay $1,400 a month for board. They get their shots yearly. I just bought a new $1,700 eventing saddle. My new eventing vest was $200. My skullcap was $290. I compete all across the United States and compete internationally. In total, average cost for my horses and all their bills and tack is around $40,000. I don't recommend buying a horse if you can't pay for it or have a space for it.

I am new watching fabsome horses so really sorry
When I was on my drill team where we were on tv in parades with our horses and I had to leave my horse Max and when he wasn’t good I had to lease another horse chick and after the drill team experience where they were really nice to me I. Started taking lessons and my favorite camp where are my instructor like really liked me and she cared about how I rode in my technique because I was a more advanced rider because Drill team with horses it’s a little hard nope I mean a lot hard.! But after those experiences I really wanted to own my own horse but we didn’t have that money because I was in the NKYCE which cost a lot of money and I am on the clipper swim team which also cost a lot at all that money but next year I really want to get back in the horses because they are very calming ❤️ and this video really helps to show what lessons I could take what I could do if I wanted to lease a horse or buy one which will probably happen when I’m like 20 LOL! ❤️
Because land is quite expensive here, renting a stable will set you back about 500 euro a month. And that’s just the naked stable. Bedding you need to pay for as well. And then you pay for paddock renting, lessons, tack, medical costs, shoes, feed, etc etc.

Something that should be said is that you SHOULDNT buy your child a horse if their trainer and you aren’t sure that they are motivated to care for it. When you own a horse, it’s a lot more than just riding. If your horse is on your own property you have to feed it, give clean water every day, keep it in shape, clean stalls, clean tack, wash the horse, put on blankets, fly masks, and flysheets. I’ve seen a lot of people buy their young kids horses, then they totally just forget about them and have to sell them. It can be a big waste of money and not worth your time if it isn’t something you want to do for the rest of your life
