The most pleasant of the Coyot serie is the tail wheel version. She has all the pleasant flight characters of the Piper Cub, the J3,except it's side seaters . I often fly in this 6S6 , ( 116 ft² wing Rot 912) and I believe it is one of the most successfull microlight ever built. The tail wheel version is a major aset to teach people flying.A guy trained landing with limit cross wind on a tailwheel trainer in his first lessons, will be able to land almost anything ! The contrary is unthinkable.
@northfield44 I am thrilled out of my mind to hear that. I am strongly considering purchasing a Rans (I'm thinking of an S-7, I like the Citabria-like styling) and a great review is fantastic to hear.
Nice airplane, I actually had one and everything they say about it is true, except for I think when they said 100 kn, they actually met 100 mph. I don’t think you could get 100 kn if you were headed straight downhill, at least I couldn’t.
The Coyote fly good, but the flaps are a bit unefficient (too small).Older Coyote have a fragile landing gear and very very bad drum brakes, but this was improved in the nevest versions... But i find the Skyranger more homogene and easyer/cheaper tho maintain and repair
do you know how much plane I can get on the used market for 80 grand? I can get one helluva certified aircraft with fresh annuals and overhauls. If you guys really ever want to truly compete in the market of grown up boys toys you have to either be certified or cheaper.
Gary Myers --THANK YOU👍🏼 these builders r getting ridiculous with prices and that’s why they say “ not as many people in the sport as thought” it’s because they get greedy, the labor is welding the airframe, lit of these dealers are getting LSA from Czech, South Africa, etc and double the price, I’m buying used loaded 20k cheaper😂
I don't recall what exactly possessed me to make the comment about the weight, it seems too obvious in retrospect (the LS model has to comply with FAA limits for LSA and ASTM consensus standards). I am sure I tried to answer a question.

Not something new and as economical, or as fun to fly.
