- You wanted it, so I brought it! MTX Mototrax returns on the channel, and today we're doing a freeride. I decided to do a freeride at Travis Pastrana's House, because this was one of the coolest freeride spots in any motocross game. Everybody dreams of riding at Pastrana's, but in MTX Mototrax, you can do it! You guys wanted more mtx mototrax, so I brought it back for you all! Thanks for all the support on the channel!

I miss games like this, all dirt bike games today suck... Id totally pay 50 bucks for this exact game but with today's graphics
@Francisco Oliveira i dont think they should mess with physics that much, look at need for speed, it was perfect and now it sucks... I know that it depends on the engine they use for the graphics but if they remake this game one day i hope they do their best to make the gameplay the actual same because it is still better than the new mx games

@Francisco Oliveira they are pretty impressive for the time and even today, but some adjustments can make it more "organic" and then it will be perfect...
But you know Activision doesn't give a damn about us and mtx right? They probably don't even remember this game exists, and that makes me sad because it's unlikely that we'll get a remake/remaster of games like this one..

When my dad came home from work we would play this game for hours. I did the freestyle and he would do the races. Greatest game of my childhood.

I had this game in my Mid 30s and lost count of the endless hours all through the night playing this and trying to dial in tricks. I have a son now and he all about the PS4 but no games compare to this, so I dug out the PS2 and I had bought a couple of copies of this game. This is 2020 and back to it again as a 50 year old hahaha. The game is just too cool and a new version would be off the charts with the progression of the sport and new tricks. I do have an issue though as i no longer have the original controller, I have an aftermarket cordless one and its ok with one exception. The R2 button which was the clutch won't acknowledge the command which is a major pain on berms for the extra boost. Just rely on hard into corners and a bastardised half doughnut affair with the brake. I guess will have to get on EBAY and find a NOS PS controller. Great upload brings back some memories though I am back on it again I have never used any cheats. I got Golds the hard way and disagree though its lame by your then today's standards which was when 2017, its not even lame now. Good clearance on the big trail jump over the swamp but then I remembered you where piloting a 250cc which makes it a cake walk.

Man I played this game all the time when I was young. I remember at Travis’s house on the large hill next to it, if you went up the hill far enough, you’d clip through and fall out of the map. Always made me laugh.

the supercross tracks in this game were genuinely good. They have rhythm and each track feels and looks unique.

I have yet to see any motocross games nowadays replicate MTX’s career mode. Sad we will never see another career mode like this ever again in a motocross game.
I used to be in a racing league on a site like XBLRacing.net, or something like that, back when the Original Xbox was out. Xbox Live didn't exist as you know it today and there was no in-game community. This was around the time of XLink Kai. They ran leagues for MTX, Project Gotham Racing, Sega GT 2002, etc.
I didn't have broadband so I'd go to my friend's house or my parent's friends' house to get online during the designated race time.
In a non-braggadocious way, I won a number of tournaments spanning a couple of years for MTX. The competition was fierce but everyone was respectful to one another and a tight bond was formed during those early years.
The Daytona track (or was it Orlando?) is my favorite by a loooong shot. If you time the start *JUST* right, you can FLY out of the gate and have to panic-brake while turning into the first turn, which is a left-or-right split, and you'll come out of the corner with so much speed you'll have to panic-brake for the 2nd part of that split before the track merges. If you got that right, and only a couple of us out of the entire league had that down pat, you were racing on a whole different level.

This makes me want to dust-off my Original Xbox and fire MTX up. I don't know if the console works any longer since the last time it was working my friend called to tell me that my X3 fried one night and they had to turn the console off. This was over a decade and a half ago and I've since stopped playing Consoles as I got more into PC gaming.
I had a sheet with the lap times for each track. If you weren't sniffing those lap times...and nobody I knew IRL could...forget about it!

Damn I remember hating Redwoods so much back then. The freestyle spots there were almost impossible for me to do, but I kept trying until I finally got them down. Pure nostalgia. Hopefully I can get my hands on this masterpiece game again for my backwards compatible PS3 or hopefully it gets remastered

I just googled him, and you're right! I was young when this game came out, so I didn't follow motocross too closely. I just knew about the big names like Carmichael, Reed, Stewart, McGrath, and Pastrana. I was too worried about doing kid things and racing motocross to care about watching it on TV lol

By far the best all around MX game of all time. I could not get my hands off the controler when I was a kid. Activision could blow out the Moto gaming competitors if they revampted this and released a new game.
I think they could do very well re-mastering this game and tweaking some of the physics, but I don;t think that will ever happen
