My mother used to take me with my Godfather to Saratoga each year. My Grandparents had a Summer Home in nearby Saugherties NY. My Godfather is gone about 25 years, my mother passed away in 2009. They both would have loved this tour. This was a lovely tour.
I’m always emotional when I see the graveyard; particularly Secretariat’s grave, though I have never been to Claiborne. I also broke down when seeing Man O’ War’s burial site years ago. There is a video record of his funeral in 1947.
I'm glad you mentioned Man O War, he has always been my favorite; it looks like Claiborne is preserving that bloodline. I have to get around to seeing the stations before they're retired.
Had the pleasure of being toured by John, earlier this year. Loved your , obviously hearing bout Secretariat and stories . Gorgeous horses. Beautiful facilities .
I was there in 1989 and got to see so many of the greats in the stallion barn, including Secretariat. I received a lock of his mane from his groom, Bobby Anderson. I still have it with the light blue butcher paper wrapping it. Big Red died about nine or ten weeks after my visit.
I have heard so many opinions over the years about the horse in general. Are they considered smart ? BTW, I really enjoyed this story, the gentleman certainly knows his business. Need a better microphone to block the wind, but no biggie. Very informative documentary. I can't imagine the $$$ it takes to operate such a large scale operation !
Really, ya should have edited out the coughing and sniffing from the filmer, or simply stopped and let the poor thing have their nasal/lung process in private.🤧 Otherwise, it was lovely to get the feel of the place, hear the birds...
Seriously. Although I think it was live. Still couldn't concentrate on the tour...just wondering if she was possibly passing along you know what to everyone else with her. Other than that it was a lovely tour.😊
This was awesome!

What beautiful stallions!😍
I had no knowledge about them. thanks for the video!
I can't with Blame's drinking technique. Too funny.

Will you be doing another live tour soon?
You passed right by Pulpit the sire of Tapit.
The special 6 stalls seem kinda boring/sad like a solitary
Wish they could do a paddock paradise setup

@@oh_thats_kris Probably the typical spring allergy-like reaction to all the blooming things... ☺
