Having cycled using butyl then latex for thousands of miles in last couple of years I was interested to try tpu tubes. I've not tried Tubilito brands but most others out there. I think the idea is promising but I've really struggled with durability and qc. The valves have leaked after a few weeks and some out of the box. The ride quality is closer to latex but they always sedm to get small leaks after a few rides. I don't think I will buy them any more. If you want all out speed and quality of ride latex hands down. The proviso being they need a daily top up. Otherwise for commuting and multi day adventures butyl is best. Tpu will be good in future hopefully. If you insist on doing that ride on them take more than one spare as you really risk getting caught out. On a plus though when you do get a puncture tpu seems to generally have much slower leaks.
Ive been running tubeless on road and mtb bikes for a while now and carried a tubolitos as a spare for their small size and weight. On the day i did get a puncture and needed the tubolito, the tube deformed on inflation causing a big egg like lump near the valve. Tubolito as a company were excellent and sent me a replacement out first class but leaves me concerned about how reliable they are for any future issues. As a newcomer to your channel looking to get a Brompton, I’m surprised tubeless is not common place like it is for other bikes.
That's a great input so thank you very much. They have talked about it coming for a while but for some reason I've always been scared to tubeless. However they do say a tubolito is slightly lighter than TUBS 🤷🏻♂️
Given there is no option for a roadside repair, I think I would go for two spares - sure you can always say that you can't have enough spares but given the limitations and the distance you are riding, it would be a shame to get stuck out there!
Do you see any significance in the choice of valve? I think they were originally only available for Brompton in Presta. Apart from weight, air retention and ride quality need to be considered. Go slay the dragon!
I would have personally preferred presta but couldn’t be bothered buying the little adaptor. Looking forward to slaying it this year!! Already raised over £600 😬😬
Tubolitos are great but the price and weight aren't the best when you compare them to their competitors. I've been running 16" 349 19g RideNow Tubes for a year and it's been alright on the plane, up a mountain, up hills, even pushing it above 35kph. No issues. So I'd probably stick to RideNow Tubes for my Brompton

My comments keep getting deleted ?!, I have been running TPU's on a couple of my road bikes for some months and all good, but not tubolitos, too expensive, I get mine on a certain Chinese website for about £5.00 delivered. Have had a couple of punctures but easily repaired with the supplied patches and no need to wait 5 hours.
Really? It's not me but I'll have a look at the RUclips back end to make sure they aren't getting flagged. So far for me the tubolitos have been fine but only 25miles in lol
As I have seen You overtake ordinary bikes on a Brompton on the road to Paris, I can't imagine that a few gram may be that essential? But eventually try to put some puncture fluid inside, as in Tubeless tyres? Myself I would rather make my bike weigh less with more ordinary changes of parts to carbon and titanium, as I'm also close to 8 kilo on my own, now much former than "Superlight" bike - with mudguards (as a Dane I never leave Home without them!). On my bike I still have the ordinary wheels, and I have no plans of going Red, but would rather stay Safe! Finn. Denmark
My favourite rainy Dane always appreciate your input. I agree but all the nice carbon and titanium is hitting my wallet even harder 🤣. Tbh it’s just the one climb called the devils elbow that worries me and because I struggled hard to even do it on my super light carbon bike
@@TheBromptonGuy I have met what I - suppose is near similar (As an old and rather "weight-challenged" man of 76 my ability and options are, somewhat limited, compared with a person in a much better shape than I!), and even in the lowest gear, of my 6, I decided to - walk for a "Higher Speed"!!! I would find it a rather Foolish Thing to have gears lower than my low gear and - higher than my present, but if divided with 12, I of course would be able to select ½ gears also, and maybe coming a little outside my present gear-range? But I may hit a car trying to find out to manipulate all the options from my handlebar🤔? Finn. Denmark
Brompton are bringing out tubeless tyres this year so wait awhile tubes will be a thing of the past = won’t help with this years race but next years race will have a winning medal in sight unless you should of gone to spec savers.
lol I’ll tell you what if they are released then I’ll do the Dragon 2025 on them as see the outcome. However I did read that tubeless are actually heavily that the TPU 🤷🏻♂️.

There shite had 3 all fail same way on my P line .. Brass valve blew outta the tube clip ..
