My pastor was once a top dog in a major gang in Florida. Growing up he knew OF Christ but didn’t KNOW Him. His Christian aunt told him he would be a pastor someday and he just laughed. He had everything the world said was great but was the most miserable he’d ever been. When his Christian aunt was really sick and he was by her bedside, God audibly spoke to pastor in his mind saying that he was “being deployed” as a pastor. He HATED people but God transformed his heart and made a way for him to leave the gang. Now we have a homeless ministry in a very sketchy park; we do a Saturday morning service outside and Pastor helps people on the streets regularly. The homeless are our family. It’s only been over a year, and the crime rate in the entire area (not just the park) has dropped by 30%. 10% is a lot. This is something only Christ can do.
