  • Today I take a look back at every Generation 1 episode and rank it according to how I feel about it.
I do not own any of the official My Little Pony footage used. Nor did I create it.
My Little Pony 'n Friends is owned and created by Hasbro. This video contains My Little Pony related content.
My Little Pony was created by Bonnie Zacherle.

It took longer than originally planned but here it is. This project, surprisingly, gave me lots of self-doubt the further I worked on it. It may have affected aspects of my work but I have a finished product. I'm glad to be done and I look forward to the next one.

Haha, I remember when I was a kid I used to watch that movie a lot, cuz I had it on CD or DVD, I don't remember anymore. I think it was some gift when you bought a magazine? And, well, I had only so many movies to watch. Iirc, the flutter ponies in my language were called "little hummingbird ponies", and also of course it was lektor and not a dub. Which is basically you have the og voice acting a little quieter and one person reads the translated dialogues, hah. You kinda made me want to rewatch it.
    Anyway, cool video! :D

The baby ponies who look exactly like their mothers(i.e., Baby Ribbon and Mother Ribbon), there was an explanation of how they came to be. There were G1 MLP comics (released only in the UK) and a story called The Enchanted Mirror. Whenever a pony wishes to look after someone special, a baby version of themselves comes out of the mirror. A quicker way to get yourself a child instead of getting pregnant.
As for why MLP shows a runtime of 10 minutes, it's because Hasbro was also airing other cartoon shows such as Glo Friends and Moon Dreamers. For example, if you were a kid back in the 80s and were watching a ten-minute episode of The End of Flutter Valley, another show would take place to fill the rest of the minute line time; totaling 20 minutes. To be honest, it would have been much easier to make Glo Friends or Moon Dreamers 20-minute episodes alone instead of putting it alongside MLP to shorten the time.

"If you're in trouble be annoying." Well, that worked for Rarity in A Dog and Pony Show.

You probably won't respond to this, but oddly, I actually liked Danny Williams more than some of the ponies. He reminded me a lot of the Cutie mark crusaders, mostly Scoots. He was fun, shown to be surprisingly smart and clever, he helped defeat a couple of villains, he even came up with some plans and traps(something it feels like the show itself seems to forget considering how the show treats Dsnny in comparison to his sisters, and he, Megan, and Molly all have cute scenes. Speaking of Megan, something that bothers me about the show is how it almost always treats it as she is always right, which, when combined with her being overly protective and bossy, not to mention the show can be a bit of a hypocrite as megan teasing Danny and Molly is fine but Danny shooting back isn't good or at least slightly mean according to the shows. To be clear, i do like that megan can be overly bossy. It's a good flaw for her, and it makes sense considering their parents seem to be neglectful. What bothers me is that the show treats her as right in moments where she really isn't or at least is over exaggerating, i still face palm at her, telling Danny to act his age in a scene where he is the only one actually acting his age. Also, some act like Danny is a bully, but the only scenes where he is kinda being mean are towards villains or that one time where he thought someone betrayed him and his friends, which considering he holds friendship to a high regard (and he is a freaking child. Who is pretty rowdy to the point, i think he might have adhd. Also, we see him panicked in that scene) I'm not surprised. Him and Megan scolding the bullies together was nice. Anyways, Hasbro should bring back the three Williams siblings and maybe have them interact with Celestia and Luna.

Megan and Danny are good examples of good kids and fun characters that would work much better if one isn't treated as better than the other. Plus, they and Molly are pretty underrated (although Megan shows up in equestria girls and Molly got a toy).
