Wow, this is a trip down memory lane, and through the games visual improvements over the years.
Honestly this is kind of emotional to watch, when I started playing I loved to watch Penta and after that G2.
That squad in their prime was so amazing to see.
And hearing Kix's voice casting, gone too soon.
I think one of the most striking things about the competitive scene in this game is how diverse the top teams are. I’m a lot of other esports you have like 2-3 teams who are pretty much in the finals every year and every once in a while a lower team will make a run but in this game it’s like different 2 teams in every finals… obviously you’ve got some staples like g2 but it’s ALOT of different teams all making it to the finals
Wow I hadn't really thought of r6 pro league like that before. It really is hard to be dominant in the pro scene. It definitely shows how scary G2 used to be tho

Dude that Atlantic City final still gives me chills. That liquid roster was stacked with Bullet1 and Ziguera
I will never forget that final because everyone and their mothers counted Liquid out and I also thought that G2 were winning another one but the Brazilian lads actually did it.

G2 in 2021, lost like one map in group stage and smoked rec and ssg, and after the first map against empire in gf they steamrolled them I think g2 had the best run

TL winning PL final feels like yesterday. Sad that they didnt win more with that squad. Sexycake is still the top 3 support of all time in my mind.
Also Empire, thought they will appear somewhere in the final few mins. Still remember that top floor bank roam from Joystick when the team first caught people's eyes.

The most beautiful story told was the cinderella run that happened in the major of Mexico. Team One about to be eliminated and had to win 3 games in a row to go to the playoffs, defeated soniqs and had to defeat cyclops by 7-2, otherwise it would be eliminated by round balance, and after winning by exactly 7-2 . For the first and only time in R6 there was a tiebreaker match against Cyclops. Team One won that match and qualified for the playoffs, the rest is history. Team One Major Champion
RIP Kixstar.. It hurts to hear his voice.
Its honestly amazed me to see how quickly we kinda went from a tactical/very execution heavy approch in SI19 to a kindof very aggressive gameplay. Like look at the G2 takes, their approach was 90% tactical. But then we got teams like Empire and later on teams that kindof build around aggressive players like Beaulo or Shaiiko and G2 quite struggled with it.
I can't deny I miss the Siege meta from 2019 cause that was the reason why I fell in love with the game but also can't say that current Siege is bad/ less tactical just that these kindof slow approaches doesn't work as consistently as they used to.

Sad that team empire are missing out this year, they are one of the most dominant teams to ever enter the scene. Hope they just come back soon.

@@anthonylake6590 their org dropped everyone except Scyther because of some disagreements. Ex-Empire has to essentially re-qualify for EUL through CL or getting picked up by an org after next SI

Stopped watching and playing the game around the Penta vs. Liquid final when Apex came out, but man Siege is still probably my favorite game I’ve ever played and by far my favorite eSport. So much strategy and such a diverse pool of top teams without one region constantly dominating. I was a big CTM / EG fan, and it was cool to see Canadian still competing
KIX and Parker were the best duo in ESPORTS
Over the years you could see how the gameplay, strategy, drone work, skill level increase.
Whenever you think your team is throwing just remember NiP on 2020 Invitational
they should’ve won that club game lol but at least they made up for it the following year
recently came back to play on XBONE since cross-progression is nowhere to be found 🙄🙄 but it is great to rewatch all of this though!
Oh man. Continuum vs PENTA is all time. Team named switched so more notably should I say Troy vs Pengu and Fabian. Pengu and Fabian dominated early but looks like in the last 2 years since they have retired Troy has gotten back on top a couple times. Wild to see.
As a LoL fan whose never watched pro siege, I think its funny that “prime G2 was something else” is something that is said in both communities.

The Pros and the Players in general deserve a better game than what is siege today. After OP Health everything went bad. If they roll back the game to the Operation Health patch we would see a peak in player numbers we have never seen in siege. I bet my car on that.
Remember back in Operation Health when everyone thought penthouse was the best site on Coast lol
Bro siege today is infinitely better than what it was years ago. There's some things siege could do or change to make the game better but overall siege today is great. After operation health is not when siege went bad.

@@anthonymarquez9499 No. I just liked the smplicity of having less operators and no banning system. The only thing that pissed me off back than was Blackbird. Everything else was fine.
@@firestormjet5959 This might be a personal thing, as the playstyle changed a lot. I don't like the gadget heavy playstile that there is right now. The fun in planning strats in the competetiv scene got completele destroyed by introducing the banning system.
