the best video on Cinema 4D's Character Rigging I've seen. I went from almost 0 rigging knowledge to start doing some cool poses on high poly characters just by watching this techniques and experimenting a bit. tyvm!
I used to do that in Maya and of course it's a bit more complex I mean visually (the color gradients on each bones, the long outliner...) I love the fact that in C4D each weight paint is using a single color corresponding to the selected joint. Simple, efficient
I've been looking for a tutorial on rigging and I am so happy that I found this video. It is simple and straight to the point. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge.
for a beginner in rigging it's a bit hard to understand how that rigging stuff works. I'll have to watch your video a few more times. thanks. very useful
Wouldn't it be nice for c4d to have some sort of hypergraph hierarchy view for all your joints? Wish they add it. I use c4d for 3d but boy, C4d still has lots of catching up to do when it comes to rigging.
i followed step by step and it moves but it seems to be a duplicate and it is attached to the original by some kind of strings, does anybody know how to fix it?
What if I have a character with many objects attached to it, for example, a guy wearing a ton of armor. Should I create 1 mesh out of it or can I attach them all so they stick together?
@@Ignash Thanks! I actually found some great tutorials about it on youtube. You can see my results here: ruclips.net/video/14U6vGHHR40/видео.html Turned out great!
how to you deal with knees/joints bending in the wrong direction/angle. My characters knee is bending backwards and i dont know how to rotate the bending angle
@@joaquinschulmeister8725 Morning! The issue was exactly what you surmised! Weights...I reviewed the tutorial more closely and discovered I had not dragged my weight 'properties' to the correct field. Many thanks again!

I was not expecting this tutorial to be so informative.
