I have a theory why mei’s mom doesn’t like Miriam! When mei’s dad is talking to mei before the ritual, he says that mei’s grandma did not approve of him, and mei’s mum got angry. But originally Miriam and MEI were supposed to date, so that might be why mei’s mom doesn’t approve of her.

i dont even think mei was that cringe, shes just into what shes into. people always call a teen girl's interests "cringe" but the boys' interests are perfectly fine.
I'm 13, and I don't understand why parents are putting reviews like this. Even my mother thought I could relate a lot to mei, what with being 13, wanting to do things alone and chatting about growing up and boys. It's just natural 🤷
