42:21 Regarding the "Jakarta Method," I think Bertrand accidentally mixed the names of the presidents (they do sound quite similar for non-native ears). The progressive president being thrown out was Soekarno, not Soeharto. Soeharto was a military leader supported by the US to execute a coup d'etat by killing 6 generals and blaming it on the communist party, which resulted in millions (of communist party members or anyone related to the party) being imprisoned and killed by the New Order government under Soeharto. During the Soeharto rule, every year on Sept. 30, Indonesians had to watch a "documentary" of the coup d'etat (including the torture and the killing of the generals) to instill hate in the population of communist ideas. The indoctrination was stopped after the Reformation in 1998. It's eye-opening to know that Indonesia was a "Pilot" project for the US on how to topple a healthy nation in order to stay a superpower and imperialistic.

I really appreciate Arnaud's knowledge and insights but in that perspective it is a bit embarassing to mix up the names of Sukarno and Suharto. They may sound similar but as Arnaud emphasizes, their policies were extremely different. Sorry for being a nitpicker, otherwise great show !

Great discussion. Quick factcheck: Sukarno was the Indonesia progressive leader who was overthrown by the CIA-backed military led by Suharto. Arnaud said the other way round. Slip of the tongue I guess. But fantastic analysis.
When you consider it deeply and compare it with biblical history, there are glaring similarities. To your point Rania, that they do not seem to be aware of their own decline, this is not by accident or by coincidence, it is by design. This is where our scriptural teachings may diverge but be that as it may, I will still offer my two cents worth here.
According to the book of Exodus, God hardened Pharaoh's heart that at first, he would not let the children of Israel go and only after the plagues were cast on Egypt he relented and the scriptures said that God hardened his heart again but on this occasion, Pharaoh pursued after them because God wanted to destroy Pharaoh, his army and all his host. So basically what this is saying is that the Almighty can override our free will and make us do things we otherwise would not do.

Chinese people may be pro-Palestine but the Chinese govt. is not. They are Israel’s second largest trading partner and long ago stopped providing aid to Palestinian resistance groups. As recently as last month Chinese media was touting trade agreements with Israel.

China is either the #1 or #2 trading partner to most countries on earth, including Israel. There is nothing special about it. There is simply no country today which economy doesn't collapse without trading with China. Yet it's China's policy to never interfere with any country's internal affairs, whether that country is committing genocide or not.
Chinese government's support for Palestine is unwavering since 1949. Even until recently when China's representative to the ICJ explicitly said Palestinians have the right to fight Israel, including with armed struggle. No other country, not even Russia, is THAT explicit in defending Palestine's fight for liberation.
Hamas itself has expressed their appreciation for China's support at the ICJ. Who the heck are you to doubt Chinese government's pro-Palestine stance?

I think these are very things that support that West is not in a decline. The fact is that no one can seems to do anything about Gaza is a key indicator that majority of the global power are okay with what's happening. The middle east is the only victim here, but even they are watching it play out. You can say say that they're powerless to do anything, but their continuation of collaboration with the west shows they don't care. So a lot of these things are just personal interest, no one cares until it's their turn.
Evidence of the decline, not yet a total collapse, is in BRICS+, our astronomical deficit, the soaring violent crime rate, poverty, homelessness, deaths of despair, crumbling infrastructure, major divisiveness within the citizenry--etc.
