You have certainly attracted a healthy number of subscribers {supporters]. Congratulations on your determination and ambitious attitude which I am sure will lead to success.
Thank you so much for both of your very supportive comments. They mean a lot to us and I'm sure we'd benefit from further moral support down the road as we keep trying to build our new home :)
Thank you! Dan would have loved to hire a ride on mower but there were lots of hidden rocks and dips that would have done some damage to the mower, and the weeds were so long we think it might have tangled up in the blades and caused all sorts of different problems 🤣
Hi Andrea and Dan. Congratulations to you both. My wife and I bought our dilapidated property 18 months ago, not too dissimilar to yours and just a few miles away from you. We are in the process of going through planning and it may be a while yet before we make a start. There are days when we feel down on the enormity of our project, but watching channels like yours gives us a huge lift. Seeing you with the strimmer, ear defenders and hard hat put a big smile on our faces because it is exactly how we spent our very first day on our land. It is an amazing location and I can envisage the end result is going to be incredible. If you guys ever feel a little low just remember there are neighbours rooting for you and if you ever need extra manpower we are here. Best wishes, S & R
Thank you so much! It's nice to hear from others who have been in a similar situation 🙂 And it was lovely to hear you enjoyed watching our first days as they brought back memories of your first experiences 🥰 I hope your planning permission is granted soon and you can start on your own project. We would love to hear how it goes. ❤️
Thank you! We are considering that, or solutions to deal with the hydrostatic pressure and water ingress. If we did go down the route of digging the barn away from the hill slightly it does involve getting planning permission first though.
What a beautiful old barn. Having spent the last 3 years fixing one up, i wish you all the best and look forward to seeing the build progress over the coming month. Great work so far, keep the momentum going 👏👏
Hi and thankyou for inviting us along on your build. Barn looks impressive and will look lovely when your done… will you be growing your own veg and having animals??. ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
Buy a small tractor, like a red or even a grey Massey Fergusson, with a slasher - life's too short for a strimmer and you'll need a tractor to deal with your land or get a couple of sheep and let them have-at-it. It's a stunning view but its going to be a lot of work - it certainly will be an adventure, but you're both young, so why not - give a crack! I look forward to seeing you and your home's progress. Good luck. 👍👍
Love to get a tractor one day. We are being careful about the big purchases we buy right now to try to stretch the money we have as far into the build as possible. For this first part of land a strimmer was, although slow, what we thought would be the best tool as far as price as well as we were constantly finding rocks, roof tiles, and other things that might have ruined a ride on mower or tractor attachment. Plus we have a lot to learn about tractors before we will feel comfortable enough to put that much money towards one :) Thank you so much for your support, we look forward to sharing more videos soon! 😁
Looks fantastic. Definitely fits the definition of derelict! Rather more so than ours. Plenty of work ahead, but im sure it will be worth it in the end. Will be following,
New sub. Looking forward to your journey. Keep your head up, eyes forward, and remember compassion for each other when things get tough. Your new friend from Virginia, USA.
Yes drainage is going to be a big task here! So much water running down from the hills above. Luckily most of the land is on a good slope so as long as we do the drainage right it will run off the land rather than creating huge boggy puddles!
Congratulations to you both, and Thank you for sharing, I am going to be coming along with you, that barn looks so gorgeous, I hope you can keep as much of the original building, but what an exciting challenge. Best of luck and sending love from Western Australia 🇦🇺
Hello to you over in Western Australia! Yes we definitely want to keep the look and size of the building so it will look very much like it does now but less holes. We want it to look like it belongs in the hills it sits in 🥰 Thank you for joining us on our journey!
Je viens de découvrir votre chaîne, superbe endroit 👍 quel potentiel! Un coup de balais et un peu de peinture, cela devrait le faire...bon courage à vous, je m'abonne bien évidemment, au plaisir de vous suivre.
Absolutely! We have hired a structural engineer to work with us from the start. They are looking into everything from foundations to supporting walls to steel beams and everything in between. Not taking any chances there!
Fighter jet? How close are you to the Mach Loop? Looks like a great spot and lovely bones. I would keep a look out for a tractor. It will save money and effort in the long run..
No friggin way! When I heard the names Dan & Andrea…. I thought it can’t be. Amazing project that you’re undertaking and those views 💪👍 Must catch up, I’ll drop you a line tomorrow. Congratulations to you both. BTW what is that fur on your face Dan 😂😂👍 Going to watch your first vid now…. Awesome 👏 Cheers Paul

Great project and lovely location . I’m not sure I fancy striming that lot lol I’d hire a ride on mower for a weekend lol
Thank you! Dan would have loved to hire a ride on mower but there were lots of hidden rocks and dips that would have done some damage to the mower, and the weeds were so long we think it might have tangled up in the blades and caused all sorts of different problems 🤣
That area looks so similar to where I grew up, just on the edge of the South Downs, between Worthing and Brighton. Live in the US now 😢.
We're very familiar with the Brighton area! It's very beautiful over there too. The seagulls there are particularly good at stealing chips :P

What a project! Free the end of the barnwall from the soil so you will have no moist problems. Good luck

Thank you so much! It's rewarding but hard work, as I'm sure you'll have found! Is yours finished now or are you still working on it?
The house part is finally completed. Just the land out back to finish next year. It's a good feeling 😂😂
Great video Andrea and Dan
Hi and thankyou for inviting us along on your build. Barn looks impressive and will look lovely when your done… will you be growing your own veg and having animals??. ❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉

Awesome drone footage
It's cool seeing the barn from that view isn't it! We love our little drone :)
Great video guys. Looks like a big project in the making. How far away is the road and can delivery lorries get up to you property.? Nice wellies😂😂😂😂
Thanks! Luckily lorries get up here fine, we've had huge Travis Perkins lorries with cranes and all sorts with no problems!
So right to use security tools❤ floodings are frequent now so carfully drain the part back at the hill .your home will be fantastic

Congratulations on your new life adventure, the view is awesome and the space you have is priceless.
Thank you! We love our new little bit of space and can't wait to share what we do with it!
Love the way that already you are calling it your house! Does that mean you have planning permission for a change of use and conversion to a house?
Yes! That was one thing we made sure was fully in place before we bought. Planning permission in perpetuity 🥳
Congratulations I’m very excited for you
Thank you so much!!
So beautiful 🤩 can't wait to see what you do with the place. Thank you for sharing and taking us on your wonderful new adventure.😊😊
Thank you so much :) We'll slowly get there! More to come soon.

bit worried about foundational issues within the building.. some extra work might be needed

Yea we are pretty close to the mach loop. We'd love a tractor, and a digger! We need to learn more about them first so we don't buy a dud :)
Goodluck, look forward to following the journey, where in Wales ?
Thank you so much! We're in mid-west Wales :D
@ sweet! I’m in South Wales so not too far 😁 Goodluck, a lot of work ahead!
