Was litterly sitting here talking to my wife about being depressed in life. It comes and goes for me. The phone dinged, and it was the boss with this video. He knows how to put some pep back in a step, naturally. The boss helps people in so many ways. Love the man.

My son and I were able to watch a fisher for about 5 minutes, while out deer hunting. What a beautiful animal. My son thought I was gonna shoot it because I was watching it through the scope. Told him they had their place in woods too.

Got out of debt, started my own home repair business and set my own agenda and own hours. Happier doesn't begin to describe it. I take 6 weeks off every year and go out West to camp and hike. I stay home when I feel like it and work on our homestead. I could go on, but you get the picture. Thanks for everything you contributed to my "vision on life", boss.

Very, very happy to see that you have lived life on your own terms. I chased my tail for decades with work, buying “stuff”, houses, cars, college degrees, etc. Finally, at age 54, after years of seeing people say someday when I retire I’m gonna...and then retiring only to not be able to, or dying shortly after, I jumped off the train. Bought a camper headed out with my Boarder Collie (looks like Tildy’s twin) and saw America. It’s been 5 years and what a ride it’s been. Stay happy my friend.

I’m 64 with health issues too. I’m surprised I’m still sitting upright. I’ve done the soul search myself when I was at my lowest point health wise. While I didn’t finish my dream list, I’ve had a relatively good life. It is all about love and family. I’ve been blessed with a woman I met at 24 who was by my side until 2012 when her heart gave out. Now my kids and grandkids are my focus. I can’t get out in the woods anymore so people like you let me still live vicariously while I am locked down for what I expect to be by final year. Thanks for all you share. It means a lot to many of us.

I'm like you, Boss, left my comfort zone in 1988 and climbed into semi leaving a 20 yr. nursing career in the dust. When I was in high school a guidance councilor told me I wasn't nurse material, to bad Mr. Haight didn't live long enough to see what I achieved while saving peoples' lives while driving that semi. I heard many a Police Officer say, "Mame, we don't get many nurses driving a semi." Daughter's and wives thanking me for being in the right place at the right time. But none of it was my doing, GOD put the thought in my brain, opened the Right doors for me to succeed in a life that was 100% different from what I left behind. I am so glad I took that leap of Faith back then because those 15 yrs. I spent on the open road was the very best life for me. I look back now, as I enter the 7th decade of my life, I have no regrets, the stories are etched in my memory.

I find humor in the fact that I watch you to relax - much more fun to see you do this stuff then me. Reorganized my tool shed to model your nut/bolt/nail organizational system. Only took 40 years and your Vlog... I remember a Sears repairman installing a stove vent and handing me some sheet metal venting. This was 1978. He said, “You’ll hold onto this forever.” Saw it when organizing. Guess he knew me. Still have it and probably like you, may find a use for it.

As I write this--your words never rang more true. My boss wanted to retire since I came to work in his solo Dental practice nearly three years ago, but his wife (a breast cancer survivor) was never ready for him to do so. They are financially set and have two huge homes, an army of people to help them in each location and many many friends. They both are good people. Just as this new year began, January 4, he got very sick confused, he fell and hit his head and while being checked out at the hospital, tested positive for Covid! He is 77 and had had a heart attack five years before I came to work with him. He would talk about retiring all the time. He is now in the ICU on a ventilator and we do not know if he will make it or not. This can be a hard lesson to learn as I help his wife navigate what my be ahead. God Bless you Boss and I do so enjoy seeing you enjoy your life with Lori and the dogs....I look forward to more words of wisdom and your adventures.

Very touching. You are very correct about retirement fear. I was 56 when I decided to throw in the towel and retire. It was the best decision I have made since I started working when I was 15. I understand what you meant by looking back on things that I can’t get back and it is sad to think of them. Now my wife has a crippling disease so we are limited on what we can do during this Covid. J.C., I think those of us who have spent time out in the woods, among Nature, hold a greater appreciation for the Balance of Life.....we observe, and grasp meaning for how things are, rather than how they are told....I, too, have been 2nd guessing my "upbringing" on how I have been taught, and what information was 180 degrees from where it really should have been~the only Truth is that which you find for yourself, and allow to live in your heart and soul. Take care my friend, and I look forward to watching future "Classic Episodes"! God Bless, Lou~

I wish I would’ve took the snowmobile out today... instead I tried strong arming it with my truck and smashed the front end and got a flat! But on a good note it’s not windy and only -4 degrees F out. 😆 And I made it to the end of the trail even on the flat! I’m lovin the adventures out here!!

Boss, You are a marvel. Your uncommon common sense surely add to our lives. Things we take for granted or even worse things we are afraid to try come right from you. You and Lori are not lucky you are dedicated individuals with purpose and forethought. Thank you and bless you both. I appreciate your Keeping on and benefit from your Keeping on. Not to mention how much I enjoy it. God Bless and keep sharing. Later my friend....

I really enjoy watching your videos. Been watching over a year now. But this one really hit home. I am recovering from open abdominal aortic aneurysm surgery. We appear to share a very similar philosophy of life. Can't wait to watch further videos of Frankie and the Boss. I found myself singing that song as I walked through the deep snow of my woods yesterday. Hahaha

I loved your ramblings at the end, but the entire video was wonderful. I feel the same. Very contented. I've done so much more than so many others. I've lived most of my dreams, and I'm so much at peace with the Father involved in my life. I'm sorry I never met Prince Charming, but thats ok too. Kissed alot of frogs, lol. I'll be happy to tell my maker what I did with what he gave me. I think he will be okay with the 🐸 🐸 🐸. God bless y'all!

Thank you so very much for sharing that. That was very POWERFUL!! I completely agree with you... and we all do have a "sell by" date... I like to say: live every day like it's your last, and one day you'll be right!! I don't live life in fear of... just do!! People think I'm totally insane... and you know what, I consider that one of the best possible compliments that they could bestow on me!!!

Im a believer that it all comes down to how you first start out your life. At 15, I was a working man in Saigon. By the time I was 17 I had been to 27 different countries. Ive slept in the piney wood off of I-75 in northern Fla, due to no money. Married twice but didnt last very long, I could not ask someone else to live my dream, it just didnt work for me. I felt like a square peg going into a round hole. Later in life I stumbled across what was to be my calling, the computer age was coming into existence, It was what I was put here to do, After 40 years, 25 being owner of a rather large company. I finally said goodbye. I now live on a beautiful lake, and fish out of a 10 ft john boat. Happy as a lark. Its been a very interesting life, and still is. Cheers to life.

And we are already happier, so thanks so very much
