Minor correction. It's not a twin turbo, it's a twin scroll turbo. 1 intake port but the exhaust portion is split into 2 smaller props and the exhaust is split by cylinders to reduce turbo lag.

I know that Toyota is a Japanese company but how does BMW tie in with this?

Essentially the platform is a BMW Z4, BMW and Toyota came together to make the new Supra because Toyota wanted to cut down on costs
