Hello Carol. I'm a Jew, a religious Jew, and frankly I do not know what you are talking about. Jews buy stuff everywhere. Walmart, Amazon, Best Buy, Shop Rite. Just about anywhere. Your comment is very weird, like we're hoarding money, and keeping it from other people. Very strange comment. The one thing I'll add is that certain foods, Jews can only buy from Jews, because chicken and meat for example have to be slaughtered correctly by a rabbi who knows the laws of kosher slaughtering. Zimbabwean 🇿🇼 and watching from the 🇬🇧. I really enjoyed watching this video. This community in Williamsburg is similar to the largest Hassidic Jewish community we have here in Golders Green London. New subscriber here and perhaps one day I will go out and create content on the Golders Green Jewish community. From my time working at the heart of that very Jewish community as a registered nurse a few years back, they are a very close knit and religious community. They also trade amongst themselves too!
I also remember when I lived in Stamford Hill London! Their area! They were my neighbours and they would not talk to you and they very much loathed it when you spoke to their children even if you innocently admired the children the children were pulled away! My other Jewish friend are saying they also behave the same towards them so it is not a racial thing but they are trying to keep it clean from us sinners as it were! They are purist and for them there cannot be much compromise 😊
OMG. What an amazing job. Your approach is very respectful and patient. I’ve lived and worked around or Jewish people in Miami Beach area for nearly 40yrs gotta be honest with you. For those you would consider Hasidic would never greet me or answer me when I greet one. True story. My experience every time I cross path with one he/she would put their heads down to avoid eye contact with me. At one time I thought it might’ve been because of skin color but I realize that it was anyone that was not one of them. So go figure
It’s bec historically when a non jew went over to a jew in the street it was usually not for good purposes so it’s kind of a “scaring” if that is a good word to use. Generally, the more religious Hasidism won’t talk as much but the less “Jewish” looking one is they probably will be more approachable.
@@captaindeedee8869 this is kinda strange in my humble opinion. Because I would’ve thought the closer one is to God the more kind one would be toward a fellow human. back then on empire blvd I noticed that alot of the jewish community had started to move into the area one thing i commend them for is sticking together and keeping the wealth in their own community and stick together. You never hear them say oh I dont like this guy or im going to do that to him or mess him over nope they just work it through and still make good for the community. I would like for the day to see our own people like that but its seriously going to take time and focus to put those nonsense hatred aside. When I walked into their supermarkets nothing but the best food and it was more reasonably priced people looked at me strange to see me shop in their stores but i didnt care.
Black people tried it before a few times in America but they were murdered and bombed and burnt to the ground . That's why they were herded into ghettos where they wanted them. They also flooded their communities and turned them into lakes. You people need to know the real history of what happened and are still happening to the real Jews in America who are going through the curses of Deuteronomy 28. Wake up people!
Ivan I lived in Brooklyn for a very long time and you're right about being a close knit community. The flip phone threw me off, never knew that. Great questions, maybe next time you'll get someone who's more open to answering.
As a religous Jew, i will explain. The torah warns us to guard our eyes (what we look at) and be careful of things which may tempt the heart to stray. Smart phones have internet access and people can send you things which are immodest. Smart phones or computers can be used only if they are filtered. Bless you.
At 4:39, you walk past the Shop that says TAG, that is a place that could have answered all of your phone question. For the very few who have smart phones for business, that office installs filters into smart phones.
Wow I like your approach!!! 😂 but be careful though especially going into certain neighborhoods. Its NYC, we can be friendly but we always keep our guard up!!! Yea I was told not having a smartphone is a way to stay away from being on the internet. I'm surprised some people came to you an answered your question while on camera. A majority of Hasidic Jews don't like to be filmed period and filming in their establishments is a no. Everyone friendly there. I get my meals at a Kosher restaurant there. Oh and 6 to 10 kids is nothing. I know one that have 16 siblings. They tend to marry real early. Borough Park another neighborhood in Brooklyn with a Hasidic Jews community. They're pretty chill there. I think if you went there, they will be happy to answer your question. LOVE YOUR CONTENT!!!! 👍👍👍
I live in New York for close to 40 years and have never been to Williamsburg. Can you believe that? The area is developing fast and its very hard to find an apartment there too. There is another area in Brooklyn, called Crown Heights, they maybe more open to talk.
Hi. I just want to say that I watched your video with interest. I am an orthodox Jewish woman. Although I am not Hasidic I am familiar with the Hasidic community and its customs and culture. Please do not take offense by their refusal to talk to you. As stated by many in the comments section, they aren’t used to cameras and they are wary of strangers. That’s not a bad thing. It makes sense not to trust people you don’t know in 2023 when there is so much crime everywhere. Many rabbis in the Hasidic community suggest that using smartphones should be avoided do to the inappropriate content on the internet. These Hasidic Jews are trying to remain pure and protect themselves from being exposed to immorality of which there is plenty of on the internet. In my opinion their efforts should be admired. They live very wholesome and moral lives with faith and family at the core. The Jewish people in general are kind, just, peaceful and loving. Good luck to you with your channel.
Hi Ivan, I love this content about the Jewish this community. I worked among them many years ago when I lived on NYC. They are the most protected community. This is so much better to listen to than the foolishness Marwa yabb about on his vlog. Especially talking about getting women pregnant in columbia. TMI and quite distasteful. Keep good and clean contents and we will watch you. Love from Bethesda MD.

Wow, i didnt know that those guys lived in big cities. I always thought that they lived in secluded areas. Amazing video bro! Cant wait to see the next one!
Also, the reason why you get a lot of reluctance is unfortunately, because of antisemitism. Because of a lot of hate, our communities are very closed. Mixed with that, is the fact that religious Jews don’t really mix with secular society. Because secular society has a lot of, not the best, morals. So many religious will usually stay within their own community and they’re very hesitant with people that are outside of the community coming in. It’s more of a protection type of thing. It’s not anything rooted in hostility. Because once you get to know these people, they are the nicest people you will ever meet. but there’s just a reluctance of having a stranger walk around, because of past things. What is this person want? What is he doing? You get a lot of antisemitic stuff. You get a lot of anti-Israel stuff. Our properties get graffitied with swastikas and hate. So it’s just a very closed environment.
@@IvainTures This is extremely good Ivain. Continue to stuff like this to educate the masses, whether in the United States or abroad! When you travel abroad again, don't only look at the tourist sites, but explore the cultures as well. People will appreciate that, and it will broaden your audience.
The reason for the flip phone is easy. Men and women try to avoid seeing the filth on the internet and avoid talking to the opposite sex other than your spouse because marriage is holy and special. You take your own marriage very seriously and avoid temptations outside of your marriage at all costs.
Sadly, it is very understandable that they want to avoid all attention to their community. I went to a college in Maryland that was attended by some Orthodox Jews. They pretty much just interacted with each other but I got to know some of them a little They are really nice people , they are just highly disciplined and focused on being in their culture. I get it I myself , i avoid as much of contemporary American "culture" as I can
When you asked about Jews in Israel and Jew in America and he responded that they don’t believe in Israel, keep in mind that he is ONLY referring to the Satmar sect. Most other Jews would like to go back if it is economically possible.
Thanks for that adventure @IvanTures . The people are surprised to see a camera n they seem not to be friendly. Big up the most friendly person on earth @IvanTures
I think you can learn more by watching RUclips channels (such as Frieda Vizel, Shloime and Peter Santinello) than trying to get people on the street to explain things to you. Well done though for making the effort. I'd love to visit NYC again and go to several ethnic enclaves trying various foods. Cheers from Europe !
Just like to add that you would need to contact their Rabbi for permission to get interviews, because usually he is in charge of all of their activities.
Absolutely incorrect, as a chassidic jew I can say we have freedom to live as we wish, we take guidance from the rabbis who have ancient wisdom passed down to them for thousands of years, just as anyone would respect a knowledgeable wise person. We are free to live our lives and the majority of us are extremely happy in our lives with meaning and purpose, there are of course people who will be the exception and not feel happy with their lives.
This is totally not true.please don't spread lies. I am a Hasidic Jewish woman living in a Hasidic community. There is no such thing as needing permission from a Rabbi to give an interview. Where did you take that from?
But we are not asking permission from the rabbi as if it is his rules, we are trying our best to follow G-D’s rules from the Bible and there are many nuances that scholars can help guide us with since they have been studying the texts in depth.
You are in the Satmar Hassidic area, one of the most insular and closed Hassidic communities. They are not even open to other Jews. If you visited the Lubavitcher Hassidim, the ones off Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn around Kingston Street, they would be far more friendly and receptive to you. They even have a visitors center.
@@IvainTures And they are very receptive to non-Jewish people, just be aware that Jews do not proselytize (do missionary work) outside of their religion. But if you want to visit the visitors center, that is cool. Also, there are actually some black Lubavitcher Jews, so do not be surprised if you see some there. The Lubavitcher Hassidim are very nice people.
When a person don’t want to talk to you, that means you’re not welcomed there. They’re on guard, that’s why you instinctively feel uncomfortable. They see you but you can’t see them or the hate they have for you. Please Be careful.
I agree, please be carful and let you friends know that you’re visiting there, to check up on your visit. As another message mentioned, you’re not welcomed there; they’re reluctant to talk to you.
I got news for you, I'm a Jew and I've been hated in by some of these people because I'm not religious or part of their sect. But I've also been welcomed by people in the same community. Don't generalize and stereotype to support your own hatred of Jews.
Furthermore, these people are targeted daily by outsiders who come into the community to harm them. Unfortunately, a good many of these people are from your demographic.
a lot of the Jews in New York are very very shy lol and some even have social anxiety cause their English is not that good (Mostly men) because English is their second language... the men must study in synagogues 3x a day until they die....

@@andreaj1331 Neither have I , I used to live quite close by to Stamford Hill in London in the 90's I would see them on the bus with their children going to their own private elementary schools.
We used to have a young radical one, dress the part come down in the basement in E. Flatbush. The basement was a hangout stop where we smoked, drank, played dominos and listen to reggae music all night.
Did everybody miss what the man said after he got in his car? He said they have to wait for the messiah before they can have a state (meaning they’re not allowed to have a state until then) and that’s when they’ll have full control (of the world).
Not at all. He was saying that specifically the satmar sect in Williamsburg, of which he is a part of based on his dress and beliefs, don't believe that Israel can be the Jewish state in exile especially under the Israeli secular government, until the Messiah comes and then Israel will rightfully belong to the Jews. Most Jews are not in agreement with the satmar philosophy and believe in the Jewish state and it's right to exist.

I feel as though they got it right..and you should create content one day
@Maimounah Faizon , will definitely do.
This is exactly why Jesus was born as a Jew. To open their eyes. But we killed him . 🥹🥹. Happy Easter in advance. 💒💒💒
Oh yep thks so much for Marwa bless you he will host you too one day soon and her precious mam will treat you like no other
back then on empire blvd I noticed that alot of the jewish community had started to move into the area one thing i commend them for is sticking together and keeping the wealth in their own community and stick together.
Well said! Yeah, I hope to get more access more time.
As a religous Jew, i will explain. The torah warns us to guard our eyes (what we look at) and be careful of things which may tempt the heart to stray. Smart phones have internet access and people can send you things which are immodest. Smart phones or computers can be used only if they are filtered. Bless you.
Thanks so much for explaining!
Just curious. Do you support Blackrock and how your people have enslaved us?
Oh! Ivan, you're so humble, kind & caring. So cheerful and wish Marwa & Mayuguno join you one day.
At 4:39, you walk past the Shop that says TAG, that is a place that could have answered all of your phone question. For the very few who have smart phones for business, that office installs filters into smart phones.
Thanks for the heads up! Interesting
You did you best Ivain. Continued blessings to you 🙏🏾
Thank you, I will
Wow I like your approach!!!
I’ll be there next time ! Thanks so much for the feedback

Thanks so much for the feedback! I appreciate it

That's Chabad territory. They are into kiruv (for Jews) and probably more used to interfacing with people not affiliated with Judaism.
Ivan, my brother;
More power to you. My whole spine was freezing watching this.

Interestingly at the end he mentioned actually answered your question and gave one of the biggest difference between between Hasidic and other Jews which is over ownership of Israel, they follow the teaching that they mustn't take possession of Israel before the coming of the Mossiah. This is evident in the extreme with the Naturei Karta but is a widely held Hassidic belief, it is also a cause of friction in things in Israel like National Service etc.
The netura karta are sick people...not connected to any normal chassdik communuty. Even Satmar. They are sick humans. We all know that!

Editing is on point 👌 good job the passion for what you do
Also, the reason why you get a lot of reluctance is unfortunately, because of antisemitism.
Wow! Very interesting. I want to go back but with help from a local. It’s very hard to get access. Thanks so much for explaining this

Very smart! I have to say I respect that !
Amen. They're smart.
He's interviewing the people in the community, the whole point of this show. Anyone can watch someone else's videos.
@@sl4983 Peter Santinell has a great channel
Just like to add that you would need to contact their Rabbi for permission to get interviews, because usually he is in charge of all of their activities.
That's controlling
@@victorhampton3452 Agreed.
In love with the channel ❤ please drop vedios everyday if possible ❤
Unique content. Keep up the good work!
Chassidim don't use smart phones because they don't want all of the information and images that are contrary to Jewish law to be available to people.

Thanks for letting me know. I’ll do that next time
@@IvainTures And they are very receptive to non-Jewish people, just be aware that Jews do not proselytize (do missionary work) outside of their religion.
Thanks for your feedback
I agree, please be carful and let you friends know that you’re visiting there, to check up on your visit. As another message mentioned, you’re not welcomed there; they’re reluctant to talk to you.
Such BS nonsense! No one hates anyone, they're just very camera shy plus most don't speak English fluently so they have no way of communicating.
You have a kind heart.
