I've never been a big fan of Sig handguns (other than their 1911 style pistols). I'm still not, but the new subgun, especially the model with the non-NFA 16" barrel with the permanently attached "muzzle break" that's really the internals for an integral suppressor setup, and the new 556xi rifle are guns that I would absolutely love to have! The only real problem that I've ever had with the 556 is the charging handle being on the wrong side, but the new xi model fixed that pretty nice, and it's quickly & easily reconfigurable by the end user as a .300 Blackout. What's not to like?!? :)
Was thinking of purchasing a SIG firearm, but apparently, they don't give a damn about the 2nd Amendment in California, so fuck em. I'm taking my money elsewhere even when I move out of state
sasquatch4liffee California Gun Roster which is a defacto gun ban on semi-automatics to private citizens which has been limiting itself systematically to revolvers. Glock and S&W seem to be the only two that are taking a stand and the roster of guns legal to sell is shrinking faster than guns are being added.
Atlas78 I live in CA. I am well aware of how restrictive the roster makes things. What you seem to be out of the loop on is, the only people opposing the handgun roster is the Calguns Foundation. Nothing else is being added to the roster because some genius decided that firing pins that microstamp primers should be one of the requirements for a handgun to be added to the roster. Well not only does that technology not exist, if it did, gun manufacturers are not going to invest in specialized tooling to accommodate a single state that is largely anti-gun. And why should they? Glock and S&W haven't done anything to help, in fact, as soon as that new requirement was written into the books S&W and Ruger dropped several of their models from the roster and refused to renew several others. Glock couldn't care less what happens here. And what do you expect Sig to do when the majority of their sales are with law enforcement both here and internationally. And before you say Sig is anti-2a again, you should know that they are currently in a lawsuit with the ATF after suing them because they banned one of their pistol caliber carbines.
sasquatch4liffee Don't know where you got your info from, but CalGuns is not the only dog in this fight. SAF is in the fight and Glock, S&W and Ruger are standing up as well, because it is hurting their business of selling weapons.
Atlas78 What has Glock done? They have several contracts to supply militaries around the world, and HUNDREDS with PDs. A loss of sales to CA isn't going to bother them much.
As cool as these are I know as a Canadian I'll never get one. I find myself trying to justify why I would need one, and I cant think of single reason that wouldnt look like the beginning of a buddy cop movie or a video game opening sequence. Aside from executive protection groups and Special weapons teams, who the hell needs these? Deer hunters? Collectors? Boots on the ground arent going to be getting these, even though they need them. Government isnt going to foot the bill for these, unless Obama goes for another visit. I just dont get it.
Sig needs to get that MPX out there on the commercial market!
Would like to see SIG offer the MPX as a semi-auto factory SBR. Love the upgraded/updated stock compared to the original too. Great job.
The xi rifle and mpx Is on my wish list
sig 556xi, the only rifle im looking towards lets hope the price isn't insane.
