We are just learning as we go. We are faking it until we make it. We are all just a work in progress, until the day we die. Yes, even people who seem so confident and self-assured, are actually self-conscious and insecure underneath it all. And that’s ok. We don’t need to have all of the answers. When I graduated high school I dropped out of college during the orientation. I knew I was going to be a mechanic. I lost a lot of friends that thought I was just going to be a deadbeat. I started my own business when I was 26. I'm 41 now and going strong.
Mechanics are in demand. My dad and brother are mechanics. My best friend’s 17 YO son got a GED and welding certificate. He worked as an hourly apprentice for a year. I helped get his resume ready, and he found a $60k a year job at 18. To the people who build and maintain America! 🇺🇸

That said, I haven't always had that discipline with every facet of my life. Yet I've been married for 16 years and loyal to my Wife and kids every step of the way. Loyal to parents. Loyal to old friends and always genuinely happy for pretty much anyone's success. Discipline with hobbies or jobs and loyalty are not tied together.

I am in a bad place emotionally an spiritually right now. Drinking and drugging. Burning bridges and losing relationships that are healthy and important. Going through a divorce, lying and just giving up man. Its very bad. I have no self discipline right now and everything is going to the wayside. I screwed up big time and I am paying the price. I feel fake as well and I've become a loser to myself. I am considering rehab just to escape but thats all it will be if I do not discipline myself. An escape. I had to confess all of that. I need to change myself and how I m thinking. I have a pastor who is going to bat for me right now and I really need to lean into him and my faith. God is protecting me throughout this all and that is the only reason i am not dead or in jail.

Thank you all for the honesty and blunt replies. Today I am almost 1 week sober. No boos, no drugs and not even cigarettes but I am vaping lol but that's soon to be gone. I am in a men's group every Saturday and go to church on Sunday and bible study on Wednesday. My marriage is still on the rough edges but my sobriety is helping weather the storm. Things are still rough but I can make it through Jesus Christ my Savior I am going to fight tooth and nail.
I got tired of my friends degrading me, the bar was already low, but i sent it to hell with what i said back in retaliation. Now i feel bad and they all cut me off. Where you're at in life will (over time) repel those who aren't where you're at in life. I am in a bad place emotionally an spiritually right now. Drinking and drugging. Burning bridges and losing relationships that are healthy and important. Going through a divorce, lying and just giving up man. Its very bad. I have no self discipline right now and everything is going to the wayside. I screwed up big time and I am paying the price.
I feel fake as well and I've become a loser to myself. I am considering rehab just to escape but thats all it will be if I do not discipline myself. An escape.
I had to confess all of that. I need to change myself and how I m thinking. I have a pastor who is going to bat for me right now and I really need to lean into him and my faith. God is protecting me throughout this all and that is the only reason i am not dead or in jail.

Thank you all for the honesty and blunt replies. Today I am almost 1 week sober. No boos, no drugs and not even cigarettes but I am vaping lol but that's soon to be gone. I am in a men's group every Saturday and go to church on Sunday and bible study on Wednesday. My marriage is still on the rough edges but my sobriety is helping weather the storm. Things are still rough but I can make it through Jesus Christ my Savior I am going to fight tooth and nail.
I got tired of my friends degrading me, the bar was already low, but i sent it to hell with what i said back in retaliation. Now i feel bad and they all cut me off. Now I’m alone and depressed but I just got tired of the “jokes” they would say about me. It was funny until I wasn’t. That last part
