Full Flight: American Airlines B737-800 Charlotte to Baltimore (CLT-BWI)

- Hey guys! Welcome to another full flight experience video! Today, I continue my way from Charlotte, North Carolina to Baltimore, Maryland aboard an American Airlines B737-800. CLT and BWI are two very similarly designed airports, both with a departure loop outside with 5 concourses surrounding it and having no trams, just a very short walk from check-in to security to gate to airplane. The one big difference though, is that all of CLT's concourses connect with each other while BWI's 5 concourses are not all connected to each other. But that's enough of the airports...the flight I though was not good, not bad. It is what I've come to expect from American Airlines. This particular aircraft had AA's Kodiak Interior onboard which is their newest product...and it pretty much sucks. I've been on a lot of airplanes by now on a lot of different airlines, and American more often than not will have a very mediocre product compared to the likes of JetBlue, Delta, and even Alaska...but their older 737 hard product was actually GOOD. Check out my vid from Chicago to LA if you'd like. Unfortunately, they went the cost cutting and money hungry route, and the Kodiak is what we have now. Besides that, it was a nice quick flight with an on time arrival and a friendly crew. Hope you guys enjoy!

0:58 CLT is a wonderful airport. I think people tend to complain because of delays every now and then. CLT is my home airport but it is quite nice

Very informative. I like the way you label the landmarks you can see from the air. BWI is nothing special but you can get in and out of there quickly, which is a plus. Agree with your assessment of AA.

One reason I like your videos is that, as you fly over, you provide information as to what's on the ground; landmarks, waterways, airports, etc. By the way, I've been to all three DC airports many times, and I rate them 1) DCA Reagan National---location, location, and location; BWI (ex-Baltimore Friendship); and 3) IAD Washington Dulles---I may as well have driven to my destination---as IAD is waayyyy out in the boondocks.
I’ve flown out of BWI twice I enjoyed the experience it was a nice airport I’ve never been to DCA or IAD

I've flown into CLT many times and know the airport well. I like that it's easy to navigate. The only thing I don't like is, I've been stuck on the tarmac a few times waiting for a gate to open up. I felt rushed once I got in going to my connecting flight. I think CLT needs to expand. It needs more gates.
Yeah, but those seats are still 1000 times better than the last time I flew on Frontier’s junk. Ironically I flew on Frontier because my American flight was cancelled. And at least you get a tray table 😊.
Haha totally agree with that...but I try to put American at a higher standard than Frontier, so for them the seats are awful...if Frontier had them they'd be great
As someone who lives near the metro Red Line, I prefer to fly in and out of DCA as much as possible because of how easy it is to get to/from the airport. However, it really depends on the price and where I am trying to go. I've used BWI on numerous occasions and find it to be a very pleasant experience.

Howdy, excellent trip report as always Chris! I do think this isn’t the best product, though it definitely isn’t awful! To answer your airport question, it really depends. I live in a city that doesn’t have BWI service, so while it is the nicest airport, it is inconvenient for me as I could take direct flights to IAD and DCA. Also, IAD is hands down the best for long haul international flights!😸

I hate end gates especially the charlotte end gates you were at. I arrived on a flight there to connect to another flight that was leaving from those gates, but so were hundreds of other people from other flights that were going out of those gates too. However, we got there just when boarding began for the planes that were already there so it was packed af. Once all those people left, then it looked decent like it did for you lol.

Is CLT a big airport ? I am connecting there this friday, and I know i'll be arriving into Concourse E but do not know the concourse for the next flight. I am flying American. Is there a lot of walking ? I hope I make it to the next gate on time.

Combination of having a backlog of over 50 videos, having a life outside of this, and each video taking a lot of time to edit which I don't have since I'm in college. I always shoot for two per week but some weeks I'm more busy than others

No thanks. I hate crj's even if the flight is under an hour. I refuse to fly on them.
Your use of 'DMV' immediately makes me think 'Department of Motor Vehicles'--considering that AA is #6 on your Covid list and the complaints offered(no middle seats blocked,no sanitized wipes given out,the boarding process) I'm surprised you choose to spend your money with this airline--I believe you have mentioned you have status on AA and guessing AA's scheduling was convenient,other carriers' scheduling didn't work for you--did you overnight at a Baltimore hotel?
