Um, no. If it was "reckless", it would have been a yellow card.
This was endangering the safety of the opponent - distance run, studs up, missed ball, got all ankle. White #13 was correctly shown a red card for Serious Foul Play and subsequently ejected.

@@miketurner4113that was a Nasty tackle. Good call by the referee to show a Red card to 13 white for serious foul Play. As a Referee myself, I would also shown a red card to 13 white for studs up to the ankle. Studs up on Ankle or above is a straight red card for serious foul play.

That was very reckless. Clear red. I hope that player who got fouled is ok. I’ve seen tackles like that where the player got his ankle broken.
