Jerry Tran there is a free download I think at like freegames.net (me and my friend were looking around and we just searched up free BF1942 download! Sounded sketchy but it worked) but of you have a disk you have to download the team simple patch ( teamsimple.org) hope this helped!

You dont need a disc now, its free online plus its active. It also has active modded servers such as FHSW and Desert Combat

No idea... others say it's not possible. Try to limit your max FPS in VideoDefault.con and enable vsync... Maybe it helps.
