Thank you for watching today's video. How are you starting of the school year and how are you feeling about it? I post weekly teaching tips. If you hit the notification bell, you will be notified every time I upload a new video.
Perfect! I’m teaching middle/high school for the first time this year (used to teaching university) and all the classroom set ups I see are for elementary school or kindergarten so this is great for me!
I'm looking forward to hopefully sharing with you my classroom setup journey. I thought I'd be going in on Friday to continue setup. Sadly because of Covid numbers in the county where I work, we are not allowed. When is your first day back to teach?
Awww, thank you friend. I find all teachers inspiring. Our ability to adapt during uncertain times without skipping a beat for the sake of our students' success is extraordinary. I hope you are doing well. ❣️
Thank you Dawn! I am hoping to do a part two but we have not been allowed into the building ever since that video was filmed because of Covid. Hopefully I will be able to do so soon to show you all the finishing touches. ☺️
I loved learning more about your story, most especially how you are navigating these challenging times. It’s great to know we are all in this together ❤️
Thanks so much, friend. I think it's awfully important to be transparent and real about the realities of getting ready for back to school during a pandemic. I hope all is well with you. 😁
@@TheLanguageLady I like mix colors with red & blue as leading colors as well Dr. Hamphill. Nice name, what is the meaning of your name? And plz correct whenever you find me,doing grammar mistakes as a teacher I'll be really thankful to you.
Thank you dear friend. It definitely is overwhelming when you are given only a time limit. Shortly after this was filmed, I was ready to come in the next day to film a part two and we were told by our principal that because of Covid, we could not return until further notice. My classroom still looks the same. It's been a very crazy time. However, I'm hopeful things will work out in the end since God is in control. Thank you as always for watching.
I know it felt good to get started on organizing and moving to your things. We have started school off on campus with students. It is difficult for kids to remember to wear their mask. Looking to forward to your next video!!!
Oh, Michelle, it was glorious to finally get something accomplished with the classroom. It's been very difficult waiting. Thank you so much for watching. When do you start?
Haha! I had to pause and laugh at the figuring out the meaning of life part! Your vlogs have a great mix of everything. I’m taking notes girl haha. Best of luck to you this school year!
Hi friend! I can't tell you how many times I stop at that very same stop light have existential thoughts and questions. 🤣🤣🤣I have some deep questions at my rides to work. Thank you for your well wishes. How is the school year so far for you?
The Language Lady lol!! Hasn’t started as yet. Teachers go back Sept. 1 and students Sept 8th. I predict it will be an interesting one, but looking forward to it 😊
I was remote all last year which was my first year in middle school. Lots of teacher pay teacher interactive stuff. Where did you get the task cards? I would love to order them. Can’t wait to see all your videos. Thank you.
You're more organised than I'll ever be :-D Also you should us shows your classroom once it's finished. Hope everyone goes smoothly with the different phases.
@@TheLanguageLady Good though I've decided to not take the summer holiday, we had the choice. I decided to work through as we were off for a good few months cause the virus.
It will be interesting to see how your classroom comes together. You have ten iLits classes per week, right? How long is each period, and what other classes will you teach?
Hi Charlie! Thanks for watching and commenting. We are still trying to figure out how many times a week I'll be teaching iLit. The schedule doesn't allow room for me to meet with groups throughout the day and co-teach. Each period is 1 hour. I co-teach with an English Language Arts teacher. I will definitely do more videos and share my journey with you on here and on Instagram. I think it's important that ESL teachers know they are not alone with the complexity of scheduling adequate time and supports into a master schedule.
