I'm playing in a game that just reached Magnimar, which is supposed to be my character's home city. As a player, I know little about it, so this will come in very handy.
Wow! This is probably the best lore video I have ever seen, incredible! Very immersive and high quality, thank you!! I love the longer/extended length of the video
I can't express how thankful I am for messages like these. I put a lot of work into these videos and am so glad that, that work is appreciated! Thank you so much for your comment, it truly made my day!
2 and a half hour of pure Tower of Tomes awesomeness, this is by far the best christmas present I could have imagined! Thank you so much for your hard work!
Thanks for this! Our party just arrived at Magnimar as part of the campaign that starts in Sandpoint. My DM linked us this video to simulate a tour our characters took around the town. Inspired, excellent work!
So I am a life long DM (33 years), who has started solo gaming. I have been enjoying published adventures, and recently I have started Rise of the Runelords. After playing Burnt Offerings and half of The Skinsaw Murders, I decided to look up content here on RUclips, and I found your channel yesterday. I have to say that it was a delight. It gave voices and sights to my solo content and added a new dimension the play. I hope you do more such content, and I will be happy to drop into your Patreon, when I can, to encourage you. As a future patron let me say that adventure path tie-ins will keep me paying. I figure it is only fair to let you know my interest, but let me also say you should make the content that you love. That is how I have always been as a DM, and that is how I think all creative people should be. For now, thank you and well done!
I am so glad to read this, because it is exactly what I aim to do. To immerse viewers, DM's and players alike and give "voice" to the world. All the "Welcome to ..." videos are made with an adventure path in mind. and the one I am working on now will be so as well... And keep it Spoiler free! :) Welcome to the Tower of Tomes! I hope you'll keep enjoying the content and that you'll keep finding it useful!
this is amazing. I'm running Rise Of The Runelords right now for my 5e group and I will use so much of this video just like I used your sandpoint video
This video is just godlike. I can feel that you are doing this work out of passion. Nobody uploads a two and a half hour video produced this good. Please, please keep up the great work!
I love this video. Magnimar is such a great city with so much character and so many possibilities for different kinds of adventures. Speaking of characters, the Tower of Tomes folks did a great job filling this video with so many interesting characters to interact with. If I ever ran a Pathfinder game, I'd almost certainly set it in Magnimar. Heck maybe the next video game (after the Starfinder game) will take place here! If not, why?!

Greetings! I'd like to note that I took some liberties and changed a few things from Paizo's official material. These changes are not done because I don't respect the hard work the good folk at Paizo has done, merely because they seem like errors of a sort. (I could be wrong of course ) :) 1st) ORDELLIA: Originally "Magnimar, City of monuments" states that Ordellia Whilwren moved south of the Yondabakari after seeing the angel atop of the Seacleft spire. This seems like an error as the Ordelliea district lies west of the Yondabakari. 9:50 2nd) ORDELLIA: There is only a very short phrase on Skavner's Fine Tomes. I took the liberty to make him human and call him Willard. :) 19:00 3rd) KEYSTONE: In the "Skinsaw murders" (book 2 of the Rise of the Runelords) It states that the Aquaretum lies in the northernmost end of the Silvershore district. But in "Magnimar, City of monuments" in the Keystone description, it simply states that it lies in the northernmost part of the district (not the Silvershore District). Seeing as it also states that the Silvershore faces the Yondabakari, I figured it was an error in the "Skinsaw murders" description (There's a few errors in that book when it comes to Magnimar). 42:00 4th) KEYSTONE: I moved the Cynosure Tower due to the map, which indicates large mansions and not really a tower where it originally is located in "Magnimar, City of monuments". I thought it made sense to have the tower not too far from "the Burn" as that was where the Varisian Council used to lie and the book also states that Desna is particularly popular among the pure-blooded Varisians. So the location made sense to me. Also there is a nice tower-shaped building at the perfect spot on the map :) 45:37 5th) KEYSTONE: I moved the Varisian Council to the where all the tents and wagons are on the map. This made more sense to me, not just because of the map, but also because it states that the council now lies among the tents and wagons of the districts largest varisian camp, and I don't see a varisian camp, without the council, lying in the wealthiest area below the Summit. 48:48 6th) DOCKWAY: I took the Liberty to name the bartender of No-Horn Bruthalumue 1:12:25 :) 7th) NAOS: I've done my best to figure out just exactly where "The Vista" and "Grand Arch" are. By looking at all the information available this is the conclusion I've come to. 1:39:24 8th) CAPITAL DISTRICT: I placed the "Bridgeward neighborhood" where I felt it made most sense, based on the information available to me. 1:57:40 These should be the only liberties I took and changes I made. Also I'd like to say that this has been a very time-consuming and large project for me and I really appreciate all the support. If you like my videos and wish to support me even more, *please consider joining me on patreon for more custom made content* . There's a link in the description :) Thank you all so much for watching! And if anyone from Paizo sees this, thank you for all the awesome work you put into this most amazing world!
Well there are standard laws. And while places like the sleeping Dryad in the Lowcleft District gets a pass, hard drugs are illegal. Beside that I could imagine that the illegal export of stone from the irespan could be a profitable business too. 😊
@@thetoweroftomes oh that is so cool, that's what my smugglers will be doing, transporting stone. It looks so innocent and it is for the players to figure out why it is everything but ok to smuggle stones

I thought about taking him out as the trip to Magnimar in RotRL would be after Foxglove manor. But decided not to as it really isn't him and what if someone went to Magnimar before Foxglove Manor or in a home game and wanted to use him? They could point him out in the video and be like " You see a well dressed man with a cane looking at you. That guy right there." :)
