    clay plasterer here:
There was one short clip in which the clay board was stacked tight under the ceiling beam. I would recommend leaving some room there. the whole house will be moving (arbeiten) especially since you will add a lot more weight upstairs. it might lead to cracks and falling off of your finish (Feinputz). just something to consider.
aside from that i really enjoy seeing you so hyped about natural materials!!

And I'm learning so much (not that I have a house to renovate. But I love not killing the planet and I love learning).
    Thank you Laura!

Germans are always SO far ahead on things like this !
I remember back in 1978 talking to 2 young Germans on a flight. They were talking about their "Green Party" & sustainability.
All these years later and the USA is lagging behind on this, in my opinion. And for those who disagree, all I have to say is "bottled water". Instead of buying gallons, or a filter for your tap water, and bringing a drink holder, many folks buy CASES of 8 Oz. water bottles. I'm sure many don't make it to the recycling stream.

Nice, the big benefit that your house being so old can now breathe well. I suspect a nice lime plaster and maybe a mesh will finish the job? Sand and cement is good, but your old house wasn't designed for it, so everything you are doing is a positive.
My house is also 120 years old, but made from stone and it suffered badly with condensation, so over the years we have made the effort to use traditional materials that allow the house to breathe and now the problems will soon be gone hopefully.

I love your house project. I am curious as to how thick your walls will be when you are finished and what you think the final R Value will be? Keep up the good work.

I want one of those finger lasers! Is that a Festool product? Loving the all natural clay boards! ❤

I love these videos so much. Gonna be building or renovating in a few years and it's so good to learn about natural products from you! My brother is a Handwerker too but quite conservative, so this is a lot of helpful perspective.
Also, it's just really enjoyable and satisfying to watch you build this house. And to watch a professional do their thing.

I was going to comment you were crazy for not putting in insulation into an exterior wall, and then I remembered the entire wall is insulation

I’d love to see what you’ll do for the ceilings. This clay sheet product doesn’t look like it can hold up to the sagging of a ceiling

Looks like a great product. Certainly greener than drywall. Do you need to do anything special in damp areas like bathrooms? Glad that you have reached the fun stage of the project where you are putting things back in place.

How do you know it's greener than drywall?

@@C4Ariesbecause Laura chose it. She always seems to go as "green" as she can go!

@@C4AriesI'm wondering the same. Transportation differences alone might make this stuff far less "green" if you look at something like carbon emissions for example
