Wow, I can really relate to your story. I feel like my baby's father cared more about me than he did about our child. Whenever we had problems, he would stop seeing or supporting our child. When I left for a while to pursue my career, he neglected our child. When I questioned him about his behavior, he said that if he couldn't have me, he didn't want the child. Once, he gave me money to buy something for myself, but I used it for our child, and he got upset. He didn't understand why I put our child first. I asked him to put our child on medical aid, but he was hesitant. However, he wanted to add me to his own medical aid. Another time, he left me and our child stranded at the hospital because he couldn't accept that I had moved on. He even told me to have my then-boyfriend be the child's father. He said he didn't want anything to do with our child because the child reminded him of our failed relationship. To this day, he has never asked about our child's well-being and is only concerned about my life. I totally understand what you mean when you say he loved you more than he loved the child.
