- The window regulator cable snapped on the passenger side door (RHD).
I managed to source an aftermarket part for about the quarter of the price of a genuine Audi part.
Off camera I put more grease on the cables to give them a bit more protection.
No doubt there is a better way to do this job but I had a go and managed to get it done and the window operating as it should again.
Your a Legend I just done mine today driver side copied exactly how you did it and i can now finally put my window up !!!!😅🤣🤙🏻
thank you so much, somehow managed to do it by myself with your help!
this is exactly what i needed, cheers mate
spot on good help you are mate
Made the job easy. I have recently taken out both passenger side door locks. FOr the back one, you need to partially take out the window regulator to allown clearance for the lock to come out. FOr the front, n worries it slides right out!
Perfect. This made the job easy, thanks.
Great video, nice and detailed. I plan to do this on my Audi and you’ve made it easier for me.
BIG thanks Made the job a lot easier and quicker I even found a new genuine mech for £60
EDIT Dont forget to grease everything I used lithium grease
Hi there
What do you suggest greasing?
Thanks
Lithium grease will help prevent the cable rusting. Once rust sets in the cables can snap@@willpower1905
Very well shot and explained and as such very helpful. Thank you for your effort and wish you all the best 🙂
Thank you, with good tuto, you make a good job 😉🙃 For me, it's the left rear windows, but, it is surely the same to replace, thank , thank, thank you😉
Thank you for the video.👍

My window has fallen inside the door, the switch still works but obviously it doesn’t bring the glass up or down, it’s just always in the door. What should I do
Looks like a pane.
Did you cut the zip tie at 22:05? I did mine much earlier and messed up the regulator. After fiddling about with it, i fit it on and heard a crunching noise and the metal wire came off. Now I have to purchase a new one.
Yes, I cut it at that point.
Well spotted!
Did you carry out any electrical tests before stripping down the door? Is it possible to determine if it's a motor problem before remving the door card. Thanks.
Hi, I didn’t do any electrical tests. I heard the cable snapping and making a grinding type noise when operating the switch.
The front right window works intermittently on this car, I suspect it is the wiring loom that leads into the door that is at fault.
I am hoping to do a video on this at some point in the near future.
Thanks.
Many thanks for that. I can hear what seems to be the motor trying to work, so maybe it is the cable unravelling and jamming the gearing.
Super
That looked a nightmare and you clearly know what you're doing, do I need to get that involved to just raise my window stop by about 4 mm?
Thanks.
It wasn’t too bad. I done the drivers side previously, so I had an idea of what to do. No doubt there’s a better way to do it.
Do you mean the window has a gap or the actual frame where it meet the body of the car? Cheers.
bonjour, le problème était des craquement ou fenêtres bloqué ? merci
Hi.
No, the cable in the regulator was rusty which then caused it to eventually snap.
Thanks.
spot on
Thanks for the video. Which brand is that window regulator?
Hi, it was an aftermarket part I got from eBay. Thanks.
🤣😂 no good.... 4:45 - 5:19 min hahaha :D
Hi, trying to manually pull my window up as i think the motor has gone, if i remove the motor unit should the window go up with little resistance? Thanks
Hi, If you remove the motor from the regulator it should allow you to pull the window up.
Sometimes the wires in the rubber conduit going into the door from the car body can break and stop the window from working, worth checking. Thanks.
Standing between the camera and the place where it is to be done is not really a good idea.
Enjoy the silence
Thank you so much you made it so much easier🫡
Super
