Thanks for the video! You helped me decide on what to get, and I ordered one just recently. I love that you went through all the options so I know what I'm looking for and what to expect. Thanks again!
@AutoFun thanks for the tip. Workedto changemy time but the dashcams timezone time are wrong. Basicallyi chose a timezonetbats 1 hour ahead to fix it to put the right time. Dont know why my areas time zone is wrong on the dashcam
Installed the F7N in my new 2024 Expedition to the left of the mirror up high. I am going to install the rear camera in FRONT of the GRILL as I am having trouble parking. I ordered another F7N to mount on the right side of the Mirror up high and will put that camera in the back. THEN I ordered a Motorcycle Dash Camera that had extra long remote camera cables available for purchase. Going to put the Motorcycle Cameras in the left and right rear SIDE windows to aid in backing out of a parking spot. A+ on the Camera.
Nice! That is going to be an impressive system once complete. Here are another 2 side camera systems that may interest you ruclips.net/video/8i_CVpPj3Dg/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/b2JXMQyU-24/видео.html if you also want radar in addition to video when backing up. Cheers!
Great video! Plus, I love this dash cam. I bought a rexing pro s1 and it was a nightmare. The RedTiger is super easy to set up and use. Definitely go the distance and hardwire it.
I love this menu compared to all the others I've been investigating. I'm definitely leaning towards this cam. I think they have a touch screen version now. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah it's definitely a good dash cam and here is my full review video ruclips.net/video/tWanKbCxS1M/видео.html so you can see the rest of it's features. Cheers!
On my F7n, holding down that button just pauses the recording. It doesn't even stay paused either, it starts recording again in like 15 seconds. Pressing and releasing it quickly just takes a picture. I wish mine had that mute feature instead of the picture feature.
@@somerandom7458 Hi Random! Ah yes, they made some updates to the firmware, so that is the new functionality (Short press for picture, long press to stop recording). Not surprised, I often see dash cam manufacturers either remove or add features after I have reviewed a dash cam. The F7N actually got several hardware improvements recently, I might make a video on this new changes. Cheers!
Another great video from your channel, congrats! I like you flow, the excellent video quality and your focus on what matters. Best explanatory F7N video I have found. Greetings from Berlin/Germany
I bought a Kenwood cam but send it back when i saw this video, now i have this camera with all these options and it’s just Wowww what a cam for under 200 euros. Just great…thank you 👍🏻
I bought this exact same dash cam with rear cam, SOOO GLAD I found this video! I'm just wondering why the polarizer lens I bought with it won't stay on the dash cam lens? It just falls right off?
Hi B! Ah the PL filter for this dash cam is a friction fit type, so it's just a matter of making sure it's fully seated (now if the filter is taken off and on eventually the sides will wear leading to a loose filter). Now while technically not needed, I do use tape on some of my PL filters to secure them in place (particularly when I use a universal filter), here is my video where you can see that in more detail ruclips.net/video/YvPoihHnSLQ/видео.html Cheers!
Thank you for the excellent video. I just installed my F7Np. 1) Can you explain the advantages and disadvantages of using a shorter or longer clip recording time? 2) The camera records in clips, but what is a ball park figure for the full recording time if I was a 32 GB SD card and full resolution? Are we talking something like 10 minutes , 2 hours, 4 hours? 3) If I'm involved in a collision, what is the next step? Should I press the UP button to make sure the clip is locked, then copy the video to other storage devices as evidence and backup clips?
You're welcome T! Ah I explain the Loop recording clip duration around the 2:55 mark. Regarding recording this will greatly vary, depending on how many channels you are running, the numbers of locked clips in the memory card, but it is normally in the range of hours (but those hours could be spread over days or weeks depending on your driving habits). Regarding a collision I would recommend referring to your owners manual but assuming your G sensor was trigged, the video of the crash will be flagged automatically by the dash cam. If you want to manually flag a video then yes you can use manually do that with the button on the dash cam. And here is my full review so you can see the rest of it's features ruclips.net/video/tWanKbCxS1M/видео.html Cheers!
In F7NP, the 'Rearcam flip' function is to correctly orient the display when the rear camera which is mounted inside the car (as against F7N rear cam that is supposed to be mounted outside) is rotated and pointed towards the inside of the car. Think this over. Proper orientation when pointed towards the outside becomes upside down when rotated and pointed towards the inside of the car. 'Rearcam flip' becomes useful then.
Hi Sreejit! Correct, the Rear Camera Flip can help to adjust for the rear camera installation. It flips the image vertically as shown at the 4:30 mark. Cheers!
Excellent tutorial, sir, and I thank you. My kids got this F7N installed for me for Christmas because I travel a lot. I read the original manual, but it wasn't a lot of help. Your video cleared up many questions I had!
Ok, thank you for answering my first question, now question number 2! I bought the OBD hardwire kit, very easy to install, but it has a switch in line that can be changed, from 12.4v, or 12.0v, or 11.6v, and I have NO IDEA which is the right setting for my car? 2019 toyota corolla. Thanks again!
You're welcome B! Ah yes some kits have an adjustable voltage cut off, here is my other video where I explain how that works ruclips.net/video/Ny-TvRnhTs4/видео.html feel free to jump to the section you need using the bookmarks on the video. Cheers!
Nice tutorial. But how do I DELETE previous video/photos? Is that done through the 'Format' icon as you showed? Or will that mess up my memory card? Thanks!
We love our new camera. However, the camera remains on even after we turn off our car. I don’t want to return it, but I don’t want it staying on and I don’t want to have to turn it off every time I get out of the car. Sometimes I forget, and it stays on all night. I’m sure it’s draining my battery. Please advise what needs to be done to.to make sure the camera automatically turns off when I turn off my car. Thanks!
Hi K! if your cigarette lighter port turns off and on when you turn on and off you car, then the dash cam will come on and off with the car (so it will not drain you car battery). But if your plug is always on even when the car is off, I use one of this ones amzn.to/3BofzJI to control the lighter port manually and ensure the dash cam turns off and not drain the car's battery. Hi E! If your cigarette lighter port turns off and on when you turn on and off you car, then the dash cam will come on and off with the car. But if your power socket is always "On" even when the car is off, I use one of this ones amzn.to/3BofzJI to control the lighter port manually and ensure the dash cam turns off and not drain the car's battery, Cheers!

Clear and concise. Great video, great camera for under $200. Do you know if it’s possible to order an extension cable for the rear camera? My car is kinda station wagon-shaped and it’s a bit snug when opening the trunk. Also, is it possible to change the default password for the camera Wi-Fi?
Thank you! Ah there is no official extension cable for the rear camera (but there are generic ones available, however I have not experimented with them) Regarding the password, yes it can be changed in the app, here is the video for that ruclips.net/video/n9pCrIPFLMA/видео.html Cheers!
Very helpful. Installed hardwire kit. I hear cam beep when I connected hot and ground with ignition off. Set to G sensor Medium. But how I know if it's On when I'm away? I thought I read the blue light should be On but it is not. Parking mode is On.
Thanks Maxwell! Assuming the dash cam is hardwired correctly with the official hardwire kit and parking mode is enabled, park monitoring should be working. What I do to test it out (if set on G-Sensor) is I stay inside the car after turning it off and wait a bit (some dash cams have a delay before entering park mode) then I bump the dash cam to see if the impact triggers a recording. And if you are still having trouble, you can also contact RedTiger for support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. Cheers!
Thanks Judy! Ah yes the G-Sensor function is ON, and the impact is large enough to (depending on the sensitivity chosen at the G-Sensor setting screen) the video will be locked automatically by the dash cam. Cheers!
Hey I have a question about the format tab. Is that only there to completely wipe everyrhing thats been recorded? Does it automatically pull data to the sd card as soon as you first power the unit up? This is the one thing I'm concerned about. Having my dashcam on but not actually recording to my sd card.
Hi Electrician! Yes the format option can be used to wipe out the memory card at once (as opposed to deleting individual videos) Regarding recording, yes it begins automatically every time the dash cams starts, you can see that an the rest of it's features in my full review here ruclips.net/video/tWanKbCxS1M/видео.html Cheers!
Hi A! Yes it does, remember it uses loop recording (like all dash cams do). It constantly records and once the memory car is full, the video beings to be overwritten starting with the oldest clip ensuring you have fresh video available while overwriting old video. And here is the full review so you can see the rest of it's features ruclips.net/video/zIEPnJMKCjQ/видео.html Cheers!
I noticed when I turn off the car and camera is off I can no longer see what was recorded within the app. Is there a setting to be able to do so even when the camera is off?
Hi L! Correct, wifi dash cams will no longer let you connect to them when the car is off. If you need video from the dash cam when the car is off, you want a Cloud dash cam like this one ruclips.net/video/EBLvq2X2SwQ/видео.html Cheers!
Thank you Debbie! The F7N does not support motion detection for parking monitoring. Bought F7N cable kit for Parking Mode. Installed OK, unit recognized cabling installation. BUT I can't see how it works, can't see it working in Parking Mode, can't find any difference. I turn off the car, and it just records perpetual video like usual. Any help out there? I REALLY MISS REAL INSTRUCTION MANUALS.
@pegmcmillan2942 Hi Peg! When correctly hardwired, the dash cam will turn off and enter park mode (if enabled in the dash cam's setting) when the car is off. I would have the installer check all the connections (ACC, BATT & GND) to confirm that they connected to the correct locations for ACC and BATT (I seen cases where the dash cam stays on constantly if ACC and BATT are reversed or connected to the incorrect locations that does not provide power at the correct time for both ACC and BATT) Here is my follow up detailed hardwire install if you want to see that process ruclips.net/video/K2iKXj82354/видео.html Cheers!
I never use the suction cup to attach it to the windshield, because with heat they all fall. In the Redtiger dash cams you cant detach the suction cup because the GPS module comes together. And I have compared both, Redtiger F7N and Rove r2-4k pro. Image quality much better in the Rove r2. Redtiger a little more field of view than Rove r2. Just in my opinion, at the same time i respect anybody else opinion.
HI Daniel! Ah yes the F7NP uses a suction cup, if you like the normal adhesive type (my preference also) you want the standard F7N I featured on this video (Iinks to both the F7N, F7NP and F7S are in the video description). You are also correct on the AOV (angle of view), the Redtiger uses a 170° to capture more of the road where the R2-4K Pro uses 140° for a more narrow view, and yep I agree, some people prefer a wider view and some prefer a narrow view. Here is the full review for the R2-4K Pro ruclips.net/video/OhAXWsGIucs/видео.html Cheers!
Hi M! Ah nope, unfortunately Buffered Park Mode is somewhat of a rare option (due to it's additional power consumption) but here is one that has it ruclips.net/video/lwoSbiwjSik/видео.html The other option would be to use a dash cam with motion detection to capture movement (which could lead to an impact). Here are some good choices for that ruclips.net/video/lndW5pSvrjw/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/pe7MCtun4So/видео.html or ruclips.net/video/8Q-u3PHmfls/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/vUEsIYEBVck/видео.html if you need Radar based motion detection. Cheers!
Hi Taylor! Ah nope, remember, your cell phone (like most phones) can only support one WIFI connection at a time, so you will want to connect to the dash cam or to CarPlay. Cheers!
Hi Mission! You can see how to access playback mode, at approx. the 7:30 mark. Front camera videos end with a letter "A" and rear camera videos end with the letter "B". Cheers!
Thank you for the video. I just bought my F7N, and I don't have speed stamp on the footage. Updated to the last firmware version, and still, doesn't show the speed on my footage. Any idea what can be or it's a camera bug? Thank you.
Hi Grigore! That is strange, I would recommend contacting RedTiger for support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps and please let us know what you find. Cheers!@@grigorezanfir
Hi Dr. Cat! I would have the installer check all the connections (ACC, BATT & GND) to confirm nothing has come loose and that they connected to the correct locations for ACC and BATT (I seen cases where park mode is not enabled if ACC and BATT are reversed or connected to the incorrect locations that does not provide power at the correct time for ACC or BATT) And if you want to bypass your installer, you can also contact RedTiger for support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. Hello I recently bought my redtiger f7np and installed it on my 09 accord sedan . I bought the hardwire and connected the yellow wire to my seat adjustment fuse#19 and connected the red wire to wipers fuse#4 and grouded it with the bolt to my trunk latch . My question is why does my time reset back to an hour before no matter how many times I've changed it . I looked it up and found no information please help . Once you set the time am I supposed to just press the power button to return back to my main menu with the settings changed ?
Hi Nelson! It's possible your time zone is set incorrectly causing the dashcam to think you are somewhere else overriding your manually entered time. Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun thank you Alex for your reply . I'm in nj on the eastern time zone unless it's supposed to be under another time zone . The fuse for the wipers is a 7.5 instead of a 15 or 20 could that maybe be the issue . Maybe I need a stronger fuse to connect to ?
I installed my F7NP and edited the Settings. Now what? I'm looking for a video that tells me if I need to do something before each trip. How do I know it is always recording? What if I crash? Is there something I have to press to save the video. Why can't I connect to the WiFi? Is that important? Do I really need to reconnect to EiFi gor each trip? I make about 30 trips a day - Often while conducting business over the phone.
Hi Bubby! If you changed the settings and are not sure what you changed, you can always restore the dash cam to it's default factory settings. Regarding recording, it records automatically every time the car is turned on. Same with the car crash videos, if the crash is strong enough to trigger the dash cam it, that section of the video will be flagged. However even if the car crash is not strong enough to trigger the G sensor, the dash cam still recorded the incident. And not you do not need to connector the Wifi, the dash cam records completely independently of the Wifi. And here is my full review ruclips.net/video/tWanKbCxS1M/видео.html if you want to see how to use the rest of the dash cam features (additionally there is a manual included with your dash cam, good info there too as well) Cheers!

Hi G! That is strange, it should not do that (The FPS is not adjustable on this dash cam) I recommend contacting RedTiger for tech support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. And please keep us posted on your findings. Cheers!
You're welcome Raul! Ah yes yhey are the same model, the only difference is that the F7NP includes a memory card. And remember I put the discount code in the video description in case you need it. Hope this helps, Cheers
Have you experienced the SD card getting filled because the loop feature doesn't work? I've read reviews that say this is a problem. I want to buy this but would prefer something you can set and forget. Also what can you say about the G-sensor mode? Too sensitive? Not sensitive enough? Does it record only 1 minute videos after a collision detection? Can it record for longer?
Hi Zev Richards! I have not experienced that issue with mine (going past a year now but will update this comment if something changes) I think you hit the nail in the head, I see this happen when people set their G sensor too high and the memory card becomes full of false alert videos that were locked by the G sensor due to the high setting. This is one of the reasons I run my dash cams at "Low" but I recommend experimenting with this setting as this varies from car to car and how sensitive you want it to be. Ah regarding the last question, remember the G-Sensor is just flagging the segment of video recorded, it does not change the video length of the video recorded (dash cam records continuous video with the segment length controlled the loop recording setting). Hope this help, Cheers!
Hi C! Yes, as explained in the video the hardwire kit is required to enable park mode. Here is the video for the hardwire kit ruclips.net/video/_1cIkR3YB-8/видео.html and here is the full review for the F7N ruclips.net/video/tWanKbCxS1M/видео.html do you can see the rest of it's features. Cheers!
Thanks Nate! Ah yes to mute the audio I hold the bottom button down until the audio icon comes up, you can see that at the 1:35 mark Hope this helps, Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun I will try that again. Last time I tried, it kept on taking a bunch of photos when trying to hold down the button! Also just curious about showing speed when driving. I’ve noticed that in some of my downloaded videos, my speed will stay at 0 even when the car is in motion. Any reason why?
@@NateGCook Hi Nate! that is strange, I would make sure the dash cam mount is fully locked in place (and the contacts on the mount and dash cam are clean) remember the GPS antenna is built inside the mount. Additionally you would want to confirm the dash cam has a clear view of the sky for the GPS to lock onto the satellites. If you are still having issues with it, I would also recommend contacting RedTiger for support, they may be able to walk you thru some trouble shooting steps (may be a firmware update if you are on an older one). Hope this helps, Cheers!
When in parking mode, does the settings for the screen saver operate in parking mode? You said you turn the screen saver off, so does that mean that in parking mode your screen stays on all the time while you’re car is parked? If not, when does it turn off? In time lapse mode, it is said that the camera records short video clips, which are then complied into a long video. How long are these videos, and on average, how big are the file size of these said “longer videos”? And how does time lapse mode play a role with battery drain? Yes I understand that the hard wire kit prevents your car battery from draining below a certain point, but I’m curious about how much time lapse mode drains your battery with daily usage. And last but not least, does any of their questions actually have real “motion detection” (person walking past your car), or do they all only have this time lapse feature?
Hi Ubreakit! Ah lots of good questions. Yes where correctly hardwired, the screen will turn off when the car enters parking monitoring. Regarding time lapse, the duration of the time lapse and the file size will vary tremendously depending on how long the car was left parked with time lapse enabled, how long your car battery can sustain time lapse and how large the memory card being used. Regarding motion detection (which to your point, is different than impact detection) A few dash cams out there have it, here you go ruclips.net/video/vUEsIYEBVck/видео.html (radar based detection) and this ones have vision based detection ruclips.net/video/EeCSx35mkPY/видео.html and ruclips.net/video/lwoSbiwjSik/видео.html Cheers!
Hi Rawaa! There is a possibility something is loose or there is an issue with the installation. Also check the memory card, some dash cam are very sensitive to low performing cards (and sometimes even the brand) Here is the card I use amzn.to/45HublL Cheers!

Going to put the Motorcycle Cameras in the left and right rear SIDE windows to aid in backing out of a parking spot. A+ on the Camera.

Cheers!

I have just purchased this. This video was very helpful.

Cheers!
I had to flip because I had the wire on the passenger side.
FYI, I have noticed that when in the menu, you can also swipe the screen up or down to avoid "arrowing" through every single option.

Cheers!
Great info on this video but I do have a question if you have an accident how do you lock the video do it doesn’t get overridden? Thank you!

Hey I have a question about the format tab. Is that only there to completely wipe everyrhing thats been recorded?
Does it automatically pull data to the sd card as soon as you first power the unit up?
This is the one thing I'm concerned about. Having my dashcam on but not actually recording to my sd card.
Hi Electrician! does it have the auto-delete option and how will it know when to delete it?
Hi A! Yes it does, remember it uses loop recording (like all dash cams do).

Parking mode: is there "pre-roll" recording before impact? Like, if you're hit while parked, does it include video of the few seconds before impact?

My dashcam always turns on and off by it self while driving, any way you know how to fix that? thank you!
Hi Rawaa! There is a possibility something is loose or there is an issue with the installation. I would recommend having your installer check the installation and all cables (and if hardwired, that the correct hardwire kit was used). Also check the memory card, some dash cam are very sensitive to low performing cards (and sometimes even the brand) Here is the card I use amzn.to/45HublL Cheers!
thankx a lot for the info!

Sometimes my videos are locked! And I can't see them, How do I stop the locking feature?
Hi VC! You can turn off the G Sensor or decrease it's sensitivity if it's locking too many videos. Cheers!
Awesome! Thank you so much! I'll give that a try!!

Does a Low Voltage Protection
Cutoff setting?
Hi Yetziel! The low voltage protection is built-in on the hardwire kit. Here is the video for that ruclips.net/video/OyQs8X7H56o/видео.html Cheers!

When mounting the front camera, do you place it behind the rear view mirror or elsewhere so the driver can see it? What do you recommend? Thanks
Hi Carey! the front location varies, as some states have regulations that can limit the location of a dash cam and also personal preference. Here is my video where I cover this in detail and my recommended mounting locations ruclips.net/video/F7OzM2i7ErE/видео.html Cheers!
hi. great video! may i ask, can you use this as a parking guide aswell? so you can see the back of your car when youre trying to park? does it have a guide line, thanks!
Thanks are why ei en! Ah regarding parking assist, nope this dash cam does not have that feature, but here is a good alternative that does have it ruclips.net/video/uYhHgjI1oOE/видео.html And I have more dash cam reviews on my channel in the playlist "Dash Cams Reviews" if you like to compare them. Hope this helps, Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun thanks for your reply! i've watch the video but i think i need to connect the rear camera directly to the wire of the car right? which is i'm not good with it. i saw one of your video the Auto Vox TW1 that is the wireless parking assist. my friend told me there might be some delay if it is wireless, is that true? that Auto vox was my first choice because i really just need the parking assist. thanks in advance!!
@@arewhyeien772 Hi are why ei en! Correct, any wireless system will have delay but it so small I can't detect it as you saw on the video it almost looks instantaneous. Hope this helps, Cheers!
How do I factory reset the dash cam ?
Hi Jose! You can do a factory reset using the "Default Setting" option shown around the 7:00 mark. Cheers!
Question, why I can't watch my videos in my computer but I can watch them in my samsung TV?.
Hi Raul! Sounds like you computer needs the video codec H.265 to play the video. There are several ways to get the codec, one is to download it separately or the other is to download a media player that comes with it. Hope this helps and thanks for watching!
Hi Alex, I just got my dash cam & wanted to bench test it before mounting it. Can I just plug it into a USB port, or will that damage the camera?
Hi AZ! Ah I recommend only using it with it's power supply (the bench test idea is very good, I usually do the same before unwinding the cables or mounting, I just connect the cables and connect it to the car to see that everything works before actually installing it) Cheers!
@@AlexAutoFun Thanks for the quick reply Alex, I was hoping to get it installed today!
Can someone here show me how to quickly manually record a video ? If I want to capture something on the road can I just press a button to lock that current video ?
Hi Jose! If you press "Up" it will lock the current video being recorded. And here is my full review video ruclips.net/video/tWanKbCxS1M/видео.html so you can see the rest of it's features. Cheers!
Did you ever have an issue where the camera loops the recording but 5-10 seconds isn’t recorded on the camera then it records again ? By the way I have a Onn. 32gb micro sd
Hi LUanity! That is strange, it should not do that. But it may just a memory card issue. Some dash cam are very sensitive to low performing cards (and sometimes even the brand) Here is the card I use amzn.to/45HublL I would also recommend contacting RedTiger for tech support, they may be able to walk you thru some troubleshooting steps. Any idea why it would continue to turn on and off? A few months ago it started to do that and now it's bad. It also gets hot. I've reformatted the card but it got worse.
