Is Your Ankle Mobility Preventing Pelvic Floor Relaxation?

  • If you have limited range of motion in your ankle joints, this may be impacting your ability to relax your pelvic floor. In this video, we will test dorsiflexion (ankle flexion) at the wall. We will then perform some joint mobilizations and other gentle stretches to improve mobility. This will help to increase dorsiflextion which will allow you to relax more comfortably in a yoga squat. Ideally, you can eventually get your heels to the floor in the yoga squat and relax your pelvic floor completely.

    Thanks for the video. Subject matter I’ve been working on for a while. Good clear instructions. Going to be helpful.
    I tore my ankle some time ago and it wasn’t treated properly. Since then it’s caused a load of problems up the right hand side One off which is a knee that I can’t seem to get resolved.
    Any chance some time in the future for a video on Yin Yoga for knees?

      Glad you found this one useful! Listen to your body if doing joint mobilization on an ankle that has been previously injured. That would definitely have impacted your knee.
      I will plan a yin sequence that is kind to the knees and will share that soon 👍🏻😊
