Stocks To Buy! Is Everything A Buy?

  • It seems all people want are stocks to buy, I wish investing would be that easy that you just buy things that go up, sell, rinse and repeat. But, there is more than 'this is a stock to buy' when it comes to investing. The risk and reward is key and how that fits you and your financial goals.
My passion is to look for low risk high reward investment opportunities. I apply my accounting skills and investing experience in order to find interesting investment ideas that offer the possibility to lead me towards my financial goals.
If you are a sophisticated investor looking for in depth, independent stock analyses and investing ideas, here is my STOCK MARKET RESEARCH PLATFORM (business and sector risk and reward analysis, my portfolios):

Great points Sven, it's a long-term process. Every week could be a new opportunity, but what happened in 1 week? Outside of a significant earnings announcement, a government decision, a product/service breakthrough, or a geopolitical event, company fundamentals probably haven't changed much. Analysis and tracking should be done all the time, but it's not a like a new batch surfaces weekly, out of the market oven.

Hi Sven there are two things that I learned following your videos. First to think about the company and their business before I buy and not after the purchase of their stock. Investing your money means that you are optimistic about the future but there is a difference between whishful thinking and educated guess. Second when to not buy or to sell stocks. I missed a lot of good opportunities like Netflix, Tesla or NVIDIA in their heydays but that’s fine I also missed a lot of bad opportunities like beyond meat or game stop. I’m not comparing these companies but I have no clue how the microchip market or the new age fancy food market functions and therefore I avoid investing in it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and see you on the next video.

I enjoy very much your deep and critical analysis of company business and their valuation. Also you identify interesting trade opportunities. Really good stuff. But if you compare to Buffets one in a decade buys, these are long term compounders at a fair price. While the potential buys you are presenting like adm, wbd, hpq, are turnaround plays and not necessarily good long term holds. China stocks I assume also to be dumped after a sentiment change and valuation recovery. I see all these as good potential trades, but it would be interesting if you could also identify some strong buy and hold investments in the current market. It does not need to be one a week. Or are no such investment opportunities and it is all about finding undervalued average quality stocks that nobody wants to have and trading on sentiment change?

I’m very happy if I find one buy option every 8-12 months, a value stock priced for the worst case scenario (in an earnings model). Also, I like the concept of increasing one’s money over business cycles/increasing your lower level of wealth over business cycles - you mentioned it also in the last video and I think I haven’t heard you use it before. It made me think differently about investing and watching my buy-prices even more (also as I made mistakes in the past, buying to high). Risk is of the highest importance when it comes to investing.

In other words .... credit assets that produce high yields with high liquidity and low volatility.... there are ETF's that hold these assets, provide liquidity and high yield and have low volatility. Just curious if you consider these in lieu of stocks. Perhaps a video on these investments?

Hi Sven! I've been thinking about lithium supply-demand balance lately. With Chinese carmakers attacking the market with cheap EVs (BYD, Tesla) can we end up having a much faster than expected transition to EV's and a surge in lithium prices again? Of course, this will depend on US and EU not bullying Chinese car manufacturers which I guess will happen soon. It's fine if Amazon sells cheap stuff and kills small stores around the world, but if Chinese car markers can kill EU/US car industry, that cannot happen. The US/EU like free market when their products are competitive, but if someone outcompetes them, they don't like free markets anymore.

It's undeniable that this year is shaping up to be more challenging. Reflecting on the past year, my investment choices proved to be costly, driven by my excessive worry about my portfolio. I struggled to weigh the decision between investing further or pursuing homeownership. Ultimately, I opted to sell my investments, only to find that the house I purchased required more renovations than expected. It's becoming increasingly uncertain how much longer I can navigate these circumstances

It is crucial to have a varied exposure in your portfolio, including companies generating current cash flows. I had my portfolio revamped by a planner that I hired late 2022, and in the last ten months, I have made well over half a million across multiple markets. If 2023 has taught us anything, it’s that good times don’t always last. When things are looking up, we should direct more energy into planning for the worst-case scenario

Who is this planner that you employ? I'm getting to the end of me. Really, I'd also like to take the path of having one

Janet Rae Maher. You are most likely to find more info when you look her up

At the end, if you'd give a stock a day to buy, people would just end up buying the typical SP500 ETF or a world etf

I’m glad that you do not buy into sexy talks of Wall Street talking heads instead stick with your fundamental analysis! Keep up the good work!

Sven... China is high risk as you can not predict if and when there will be a war or crisis over Taiwan. It could happen in April or May with a coup or something... or it might never come. who knows. You could not get a clear warning. I think your picks are usually good... But your risk assessments are off in regards to geopolitical risks.

I think Sven means if you do something very well, never do it for free. You want his research pay him his money. A like, a sub and a view aren't enough I guess.

I was happy with your LUG buy a while ago. and your NWH.UN 'sell'. I like ASML because they 'make the machines that make the chips'...I have sold things that have gone up but I am still happy with the sale because the business just didn't seem good.

Fun fact, I've never asked you for a stock to buy Sven. I have in fact given you a suggestion for a buy (EVO.ST).
I appreciate all your videos though :)
