    1. 0:54 {Taking On an Atheist’s Challenge} Can you please respond to Holy Koolaid’s video alleging various Bible contradictions and problems with Christianity? Did Jesus Himself undermine Christianity?
    2. 30:34 {Preston Sprinkle & “Side B” Christianity} What's your take on Preston Sprinkle? Some Christians like him, but others call him a heretic or "side B Christian.” The issue seems to be about him not thinking same-sex attraction is a sin when not meditated/acted on.
    3. 38:08 {Is Family Planning Sinful?} My church teaches that a couple must continuously have as many children as they're able, and it's seen as selfish and a sin resulting in church discipline if they use any form of family planning to stop. Many have 12-18 children as a result. Leadership says God wouldn't give more children than a couple can handle. Is this biblical? We already have 5 children.
    4. 47:49 {The Pinnacle of Wickedness} Mike, are we there yet? The Bible says it will be as in the days of Noah in the last days. Have we arrived at the pinnacle of wickedness yet?
    5. 53:41 {Can we still Glean from Reckless Charismatism?} I learned that Bethel's prophecy teachings and those of Storms, Wimber, Deere, Randolph, etc. trace back to scandalous Kansas City prophets. Should all be ignored, or can the chaff be separated?
    6. 1:04:11 {Trusting God with Deep Fears} I’m a mom of three young children. I struggle with a lot of fear over their safety. How can I give this to God, knowing that it doesn’t mean something bad won’t still happen?
    7. 1:11:44 {Healing = the Children’s Bread?} "Healing is the children's bread" is taught by a pastor friend when he prays for the sick. He uses Mark 7: 24-30 as the proof text. What is the “bread” in v. 27?
    8. 1:18:05 {Household Responsibilities in Marriage} Does God care who does the dishes and cooks the food? Is the wife called to manage the household? What if both the husband and wife work similar full-time jobs (Proverbs 31: 15,21,27; Titus 2:5)?
    9. 1:26:13 {Questioning Salvation = Not Saved?} I asked the youth how confident they are of salvation on a 1-10 scale. One replied with a ”7” citing that they still sin and don’t read their Bible often. Can one be saved if they associate salvation with works like Bible reading? Are the warnings in Galatians fitting here?
    10. 1:33:31 {Are All of Paul’s Writings Inspired?} What should we make of Paul saying "I, not the Lord" as if he's just giving his own opinion, while also believing that all Scripture (which includes that statement) is Holy Spirit inspired (1 Corinthians 7)?

Hey Mike, I think you may have got your sides mixed up on question 2 about homosexuality. Side A Christianity is totally affirming- Brandon Robertson style. Preston Sprinkle flirts with side B which promotes “spiritual friendship”, while Sides X and Y reflect the more Biblical views you are looking for, like Christopher Yuan and Rosaria Butterfield.
Just didn’t want viewers to look into side A thinking it was the Biblical view, hope that’s ok!

This all depends on what is meant by "spiritual friendship." If by "spiritual friendship" these means having deep, meaningful friendships with someone of the same sex, Preston Sprinkle views this as a good thing. However, if by "spiritual friendship" it means something trying to mimic marriage, then Preston rejects this. Hopefully this clarifies Preston's position. Chris Yuan and Rosaria misrepresent Preston's views.

@@clarkemorledge2398I’d have to agree with you that Yuan and Butterfield jumped to conclusions about his view because of his association with the Revoice conference. However, I’ve had trouble finding content from Sprinkle that explicitly discusses the dangers of same-sex spiritual friendship. Would you happen to have a link or something to refer me to in order to find this? I’d much appreciate it
Kinda like what Mike said, sometimes he can be a bit nebulous in his claims such that I have trouble discerning exactly what he believes (though his gospel is sound). Thanks for the clarification!

@@abinoel7715 Sure, take a look at his interview Laurie Krieg, who is on the board of directors for the Center for Faith, Sexuality, and Gender. Search on RUclips for " Sexuality, Church, Celibate Partnerships, and How I Handle Criticism: Laurie Krieg". I would encourage listening to the whole episode, but the main stuff starts at about the 17:36 time mark. If there is one thing Preston could be "faulted" for is his tendency not to make a moral evaluation of something before trying to understand what that "something" even is; for example, as in "same-sex spiritual friendship." It means different things to different people. But frankly, I think that mode of listening first is a good quality: Try to actually understand what the argument actually is before jumping in to criticize it.

Glad I heard Mikes Charismatic experience, Makes me feel a little better about mine. Mine was worse cause I wanted God so bad that i tried to "get" what everyone else was getting. I would always go up to get "slain", but like Mike, I never felt anything. I just chose to go down. Ten they would all be drunk and high on the Holy Spirit. Once again I never felt it. I did not pretend to either. It got worse from there.
And I was being treated differently than everyone, and being rejected and even being told it is because of my sins that I was not experiencing the gifts. Or I was not believing enough. I became a wreck because I did not know why God was rejecting me. I didn't know why God hated me and would often ask God to just take me out if I am worthless to the kingdom.
I never got the visions, prophesies, or healings. Nothing. But everything in me knew God is real and the Jesus is His Christ. I never doubted Jesus, I just though He didn't want me. I prayed for salvation probably thousands of times because I thought I wasn't saved. When I started going to a different church (a Calvary Chapel believe it or not) called Water Springs here in Idaho Falls. I would get mad a lot cause I was still believing the Hyper teaching. but at least my kids were in a good youth program. well fast forward our pastor said God told him to leave and go to Boise (Rick Brown) so we got a new one and he destroyed the kids program. So I left and went to CCC here in town. I liked it and good programs for kids.
Well I am still mostly set in my hyper beliefs and Covid hit. So no church. My kids are mostly grown by this time. My last one turned 18 today actually. So I start watching our service online like everyone else. Before this I never used RUclips for the videos. I noticed Mike Winger and started listening to him and could not get enough. And since then have totally rejected the Hyper, prosperity, New Age, and all the others that are tied together denominations. And now I am studying the word and trying to get as much truth as I can. I have since realized how wicked all of those people are! God never let me "feel" anything and that saved me from that.

As a Pentecostal myself I agree with certain things Mike has said regarding charismatic gifts. It shouldn't be the main aspect of a Christian's faith. I treat my gifts as, well, gifts, which help amplify and preserve my faith from time to time, but they're not the engines of my Christianity. Regardless of our stances on spiritual gifts, we can all agree that we are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ our God.

1:05:43 I tried to find a comment from @catalinaislands… I wish I could speak directly to her. God revealed something to me one night when my 2nd born was only a couple months old (I am now a mom of 4). I was standing over my son just worrying he would stop breathing. I would just constantly check. I remember praying and feeling so strongly in my heart… MY GREATEST FEAR IS SOMEONE ELSE’S REALITY RIGHT NOW. Pray for THAT MOM, that family.
It’s something I’ve continued to do all through motherhood. Pray for my kids, but rather than dwelling on what may happen to them, pray for those that are actually in the throws of whatever turmoil I fear. They need it, and I get a reality/perspective check. Praise God!

I'm gonna take this advice and try it myself. Three of my kids are young adults now. 26, 22, and 19. They have drivers licenses, jobs, relationships, and one of them, my oldest, has her own child. This comes with a whole new set of worries. I haven't thought of it your way before, but it seems like a great way to think of it. And I do remember, when my first was born, being so very worried about the breathing because I had a close friend who lost her baby to SIDS. Once we moved her out of the bassinet, because she was too big for it, and put her in a crib in her own room, I had the baby monitor so loud where I could hear every breath and movement, lol. That was many years ago, but as I have told my daughter about her own baby, each year, or each milestone, brings with it new concerns. Once they can walk, you worry about them falling for example. Once they can drive, you worry about car accidents. This is part of being a parent, but we need to try to lean on the Lord, and as you say, pray for others.

On question 8 (1:22:28) (Household Responsibilities in Marriage): A few years ago, I wrestled with the opposing teachings of the Bible and of feminism. Feminists tell us to stand up for our rights and, you know, don't stand for any gender stereotyping of your role in society and in the home. But the Bible calls us to serve one another in love just like Jesus demonstrated his love for his disciples by washing their feet. I came to the conclusion that it matters less about who does what in the home and more about serving one another in love in whatever capacity we can.

So true. I take care of the household chores because I love my husband and children and enjoy it. He works to keep us clothed, housed and fed. He and our son mow the lawn, wash the cars, fix stuff, take out the trash. I have stepped in and done those chores, hubby has done housework. Thru the years we have taken care of each other in sickness, poorer, and richness and health, because God loves us and blessed us with love for each other.

      @bri-chimchimcher-ee6955 3 дня назад

and that's how it should be! It's the fact that you both sacrifice for each other, taking on various things to support your partnership.
Where a lot of wives end up having an issue is that their husband's don't truly care, their "job" ends at bringing home money and doing the occasional house-related task, but when their wives express genuine exhaustion at the tasks they themselves take on (most of which don't result in money and don't have clear time boundaries like a job does, meaning they are on call 24/7), the men just don't give a crap. It just makes it worse if the family can't survive on only one income and both must work
In the end, it doesn't matter who does what, or how the tasks of a marriage and making a life for your family are divided up, what matters is that you both bring a sacrificial love to the union, and if one party is struggling they come together to solve the problem ❤

Agreed, roles vary and skills don’t always follow any generation’s presumed gender roles. My wife is far more practical than me on anything mechanical, a skill that has passed to our sons. On the other hand, I am a natural cook, another skill that has passed to our sons. However I have always been the breadwinner even though it is my wife who has the degrees. She always wanted to be a homemaker and would have missed her children growing up had she stuck to the career she had in her 20s.

Question 1: The sacrificial power of Jesus' offer is for all time. It's retroactive. King David tasted the power of the age to come (the current age). And the scripture says the lamb was slain from the foundation of the earth.
And, in any case, Jesus' sacrifice opens the way to power of the Holy Spirit to live as a witness (live above sin and in holiness and in the ministry of healing to others).

Claiming one is "god" does not make you god. Anyone can say that, People do say that. The more important questions are "Does Jesus do only things that God can do?". Does Jesus say only things that God can say?" And this he does. He forgives sins (Mark 2:1-12), states He and the Father are one (John 10:30-33) and accepts worship (John 20:26-30.) And there are many many more verses of a similar kind. What do you say these verses mean, if they are not indicating Jesus is and claimed to be God?

I was a member of a church where the emphasis is The Holy Spirit with altar calls where people are slain in the Spirit and speaking in tongues is common, but at no time did any of us believe that we lose control of our physical body, not everyone falls down, not everyone speaks in tongues, and not all the time. Discernment is necessary when following non-denominational churches where there is no leadership accountability, so emotional manipulation does not happen. I left that church, and many times what the Pastor said comes to my mind, but it is never directly a scripture quote, it is one of the things he would say over and over. I now attend a church where the emphasis is on God's Word and its practical and helpful application to my life.

Even regarding the animal sacrifices (which could only temporarily cover sins and were meant to point us toward the ultimate Sacrifice) David writes that God took no pleasure in, lamenting the fact that the sins he committed could not be covered by the blood of bulls etc. as murder and adultery were both capital crimes yet God had mercy on him anyway. (See Psalm 51:16-17.)

Interesting (at around 58 min.) hearing of your experience with "being slain in the Spirit" at the Anaheim Vineyard at age 14. My Vineyard was really into "the renewal" in the late 1990's/early 2000's. Like you, as other people were being strongly impacted and many were on the floor "out under the power," it never really affected me, and I'd often be standing there bored. The most I can say was that sometimes when that kind of ministry was going on, I could feel a "buzz" in the room (anointing?) that if multiplied by 50 or 100, I might have had difficulty remaining standing. I give my leaders credit for emphasizing that it wasn't about falling/not falling, but imparting blessing to the person being prayed for, in whatever form, visible or not, that He would choose. Some people reported that they had felt that a prayer minister had pushed them, seemingly trying to "help" (or manipulate) them into falling down, and the leadership instructed the prayer ministers to be careful to not push people, and that if a minister had a noted tendency to be perceived as pushing people (perhaps innocently out of enthusiasm when they would lay hands on the person and pray), that they should make it a point to just refrain from touching the person at all.
As for my evaluation of long-term "fruit" -- I saw "all of the above" -- there were some strongly affected by those experiences who later "went off the rails," spiritually... some leaving marriages, some going apostate, and others who seemed to be greatly blessed by the experiences and continued on in following the Lord, even as the occurrence of "getting slain in the Spirit" faded away and pretty much ended. At the same time there were people (like me, and Mike) who didn't feel much (if any) "touch from God" at such meetings, but also continued to follow and grow in the Lord. I think it comes down to that we're all "wired" differently, and that we really can't judge how "spiritual" or "close to God" we are based on an outward experience.

After hearing him in person, I walked away very encouraged. He does not support same sex relationships or how I believe he put it, supports the historically biblical view of relationships, wherein one man is with one woman. However, his main focus is to walk with empathy and compassion towards those who are anywhere within the same sex attraction range. His perspective is more to show love, not acceptance, but love and compassion towards those. Especially after learning how unjustly some have been treated. He leans towards an empathetic approach vs strictly bashing them with shame. And I felt deeply encouraged by his talk.

Interesting hearing your perspective of Vineyard Fellowship. I was a die-hard Vineyard defender for over a decade. I'd been part of 3 different Vineyard congregations (Vancouver Vineyard [WA], Coast Vineyard [San Diego] Ramona Vineyard [Ramona, CA]) and visited multiple others [Newport, OR, Phoenix, AZ & Houston, TX]. Although it varied some from congregation to congregation it was heavily influenced by mystics, IHOPKC and Bethel Redding. I ran the bookstore at Vancouver Vineyard and know what all they stocked and sold. I pulled away from Vineyard about 10 years ago. But took an additional 5 years to really break away from the influence and teachings and to start questioning some of the teachings, manifestations and practices. When I reached out to a friend from the first Vineyard I was a member of instead of pointing me to Scripture she sent me one of the horrible "Courts of Heaven" books. I am yet to find a biblical explanation of the manifestations, nor somebody who has been able to accurately defend the manifestations as biblical.

Forgiveness is bearing the pain and the sin of the other and releasing those who have wronged us. The goal of forgiveness is always reconciliation. God literally bore our sins and released us from its eternal consequences (death) and has reconciled us to himself.
The depth of the cross and how it reconciles us to God goes much deeper than any single theological construction.
I like your restaurant and payment analogy…the cross is retroactive. The Old Testament faithful share in the benefits of the cross despite the fact that Christ had not died yet.

Question six about worry/fear was everything I needed to hear. Since being married, newfound fear and anxiety around the potential loss of my husband has plagued me. It's a funny thing how our fickle minds often jump to the worst case scenario rather than basking in the joy of the blessing we're given. Having such a grand thing to lose is wonderful and weighty. Though I've heard it quoted many times, Jesus' words in Matthew don't always seep into my heart the way I wish they would. Hearing you read the psalms, I recognized that I have never actually told God, "even if I lost my husband, I will trust you." Saying it out loud brings me to tears, but I need my heart to understand that I will be okay because my God is greater. I'll continue practicing this over and over, coming back to the psalms as a guide. Thank you for answering this sensitive question!

Mike, how is a youth, or even a grown old man, to know in his depths that he is truly 100% “committed” to Christ if his reason for thinking so is to look to his own works? How is he supposed to know with certainty? He can always do MORE and give MORE. How can you not question your own commitment to Him if you’re measuring your works to what you think it should be? How can we have peace?

i like to think of it this way... the wages of sin are death, but when a sinless one was put to death anyway, it broke the rules and shattered the paradigm. penal substitution is a fancy way to explain this; but there was an ultimate sacrifice which upends all the old sacrificial methods

    • @RabbitWhiteThe
      @RabbitWhiteThe 18 дней назад

Innocent livestock was killed all the time to atone for our sin. It's not that the innocence shattered the system, it's that Jesus, as God, died in our place. We no longer die in death, only in our rejection of Jesus. This is why Jesus says we have eternal life. All who believe in Him will continue to live with Him.

@@brrrayday yes, but believe is proven through servitude and obedience and when we sin, we need to repent.
These actions prove our faith and belief. This is what the writers imied when they wrote, "Faith without works is dead"
Jesus also calls us to be obedient to Him, and then he says, "pick up your cross and follow me"
However i do believe in death bed conversion, and the bible does say that mamy of us will only get into heaven by the skin of our teeth. So belief is definitely enough, but Jesus calls us to more than just mere belief. He calls us to obedience, trust and servitude.

I think a very important aspect being missed here is that Jesus didn’t just come to forgive our sins but to break the power of the fallen sin nature off of us. The sin nature (or old man) was crucified to Christ so that we may no longer be sons and daughters of Adam, but sons and daughter of God. The blood of bulls and goats could never do this.

Question 1: forgives without a sin sacrifice is not a New Testament concept. (Mike’s answer isn’t wrong, just not complete) It was never the animal’s blood that took away the sins of the person. It was the person’s faith and repentance. The sin sacrifice is a physical representation of the work of MESSIAH. In the past it pointed forward to HIS death and Resurrection. When they resume they will point back to be a reminder of what HE did.
MESSIAH forgives 2 people of their sins (Luke 5 :20 and 7 :48) without a sin sacrifice and before HIS death. This is not a New Testament concept. Numbers 21 :4-9, Hosea 6 :6, Deuteronomy 30, 2 Chronicles 7 :14.
Forgiveness is given when the offender truly repents and has faith in YHWH.
Otherwise why does HE reject sacrifices done with the wrong motives. It’s not a magic formula to try and appease HIM. It’s about genuine faith and repentance.
    Genesis 4 :2-8, Isiah 66 :1-6, Psalm 51 :16-18.

But the gospel is the good news about Jesus. The bad news is that we are separated from God by our sin. The Good News is that Jesus came to fix that by becoming human, suffering, dying as an atonement for our sin, and then resurrecting to show us the hope that we can have in Him.

All it means is if you have faith, you will see change in your life. Maybe not like you get rich all of a sudden. Definitely not stuff like that necessarily but you see someone living differently. You can see they really have faith. It’s the visible proof to people that shows someone’s faith.
God already knows if you have true faith regardless but works (or your actions and how you do actions) demonstrates to others proof that you are really following Christ.
Just like if someone says they have faith but are afraid they are gonna lose something if they aren’t looking over it 24/7 vs saying they have faith and knowing something will be fine if they are not present.
Works do not get you into Heaven. We all don’t have the same list of works needed to justify someone the same way. It’s physical proof you have been changed and are following our Savior.
I’ve experienced this. Having my eyes so to speak open to sin and trying to stop it. But we can’t. Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit changes us as much as we let Him. Surrendering daily allows this to happen.
