Another garbage performance from the kraken. This team has no identity, or will to win. Chicago simply wanted it more, daccord stood on his head and the kraken cant figure out how score again. 2 goals scored in the last 3 and 11 against.
A zillion scoring chances and it seemed like the Hawks would never get rewarded. Just kept plugging away and got a win. Back in the Sharp. Hossa, Toews, Keith era they would have had a big 7 on the board.
Floating around is one thing, over skating the play as it is developing when in the opponent's zone can't happen. Coaching staff have to point this out and approach this still very young and talented player with the hope it changes. It's tough living up to the hype being the #1 Overall pick in your draft year. Becoming a Superstar/Hall of Fame player is a whole other challenge on its own. Comes down to fundamentals and decision making with and more importantly without the puck. At one point in this recap Bedard is down in the corner gliding around already past the spot where the puck ended up being while the play developed and the opponents defense committed to those in the play. Sidney Crosby's game without the puck stood out immediately from game 1 in his career. Crosby is not the type of player that scores many highlight reel goals but he sure knows where to be to clean up the trash when the puck bounces around in the crease area. Goalies had to stop a puck and cover it up or ends up in the back of the net. I hope Bedard can turn this year around enough to quiet the critics that wanna take shots at the kid and start saying he is a bust. The talent is there, it's raw and he is surrounded by the best team management could put together. Not being on a consistent line pairing shouldn't be used as an excuse, especially when he is skating past the play.
