Hey Cameron. I just found your channel a few weeks ago. I'm a Dad with two young kids (both under 5). I had a bagged, semi-stanced Accord Coupe on big three piece Work wheels. I sold it a few months ago and my wife and I have just been sharing our CX-5. I work remotely, so I don't drive much anyway. I had a B7 A4 back in the day (2008) and always really loved the S4. I found your channel and I'm going to look at a 2021 S4 Premium Plus next week. Your mods are EXACTLY how I'd build this "cool dad car". Hopefully that's not insulting! Outside of that, I've been trying to get to church and kinda rekindle some sort of relationship with God. Your channel has been extremely interesting to watch, and I appreciate the general "chill" nature of your videos. My kids are so loud and crazy all day, it's great to unwind and watch your S4 content at the end of a busy day. Please keep this series going, it's incredibly interesting! Sorry for the wall of text, just wanted to give you some props.
Did the mounts on my S5 a few weeks ago nearly the same way. Some notes that may help others in the future. No need to remove front bumper at all. Didn't use engine support from the top, just a "one legger" as you call it with a wood block under the oil pan. We did drop - but not entirely remove - the subframe .... leaving two rear bolts. Removed sway bar entirely. Did not touch the steering rack or disconnect that joint in any way. Removed lower control arm bolts @the subframe. And removed the large aluminum support that the engine mounts were attached to. It's all about how you "see" the job and it seems like we removed a bit more than you guys, but got the same end result in a fraction of the book time which is 7hrs. It was a 2.5hr job done by a (non-Audi) tech friend. With the right tools and a lift, this is not as onerous as I had anticipated. Nice work.
Nicely done. My wife's B9 A4 motor mounts are shot (fluid leaked out at 60k). But, still no noticeable issues while driving.. Rubber is mainly intact for now. So, should be able to kick that can down the road for a bit longer until it cools down again (I'm in PHX as well). Going to replace with 034 and will have to do it on jack stands which should be tons of fun (or rent a lift). I picked up a B8 Avant recently and bagged it. Then just swapped out all the front end suspension components and upgraded to Q7 calipers with SQ5 380mm rotors last week. My little evap cooler came in clutch to roll around wherever I was working.. Eventually she will be getting S4 swapped (interior, motor, etc..) after I find a good candidate on Copart.
I did my two transmission mounts two weeks ago. Did it on 6inch ramps and used a jack for lifting the transmission. Bit difficult but got it all done and much less slop. No added nvh either. Just got in the rear diff inserts which will be installed soon
Unfortunately my S3 got totaled last month. Debating between another S3 vs S4. I loved my S3. How have you been feeling/liking the S4 (I know - different comparison with your RS3 that you go over in the last minute of the video)? Love the videos! Thanks
yo when i did my subframe mounts i think i messed up my suspention suspention sensor now i get suspension malfunction. You may continue driving alerts every 20 or so miles.😢 did you have any problems at all or no?
FYI they are called "triple square" because they are geometrically 3 Squares on top of each other creating a 12 point star. Four points per square * 3 :-)
I have a stage 3 B9.5, but as far as the mounts/inserts, all I've done is the trans insert. How crucial was having a 2nd person on the motor mounts install? I tend to do everything by myself since most of my friends either have two left hands, or just aren't mechanically inclined at all.
Hey Cameron! Just wanted to say I really enjoy the videos! I wanted to ask a quick question about catless downpipes. I just bought one for my focus st after watching your video but I was wondering if it made it smell bad
@@Jacob-lr8zi it should be fine, not really gonna mess with anything if installed correctly, just be careful if exhaust modifications aren't legal in your state as state troopers and cops will smell that really quick :)
Use this comment as a like button to show Brandon love for helping unlock the key to success on that motor mount install!

An hour long?!?!!! Hell yea!! Grabbing some popcorn! Haha
This is the best B9 vlog build hands down. Really sad to see you let the car go.
Thanks for giving the credit! Glad I could showcase the little tricks I learned along the way just for you to use them. Love your content my man!

Hey Cameron! Just wanted to say I really enjoy the videos! I wanted to ask a quick question about catless downpipes. I just bought one for my focus st after watching your video but I was wondering if it made it smell bad
it will, you are getting rid of the cat which helps with the fumes that the car releases
@@ChrizITX okay thanks for the info! Would you say it’s manageable or should I just leave the downpipe alone. Don’t want to ruin it’s drivability

@@ChrizITX thanks man I appreciate your advice! And thanks for the tip 😂
