- In this video, I am going to show you 10 hit variation on a speedball.
Variation one is two with one hand two with the other.
Variation two is still two with one hand and two with the other, but this time you do front fist back fist.
Variation three you move forward and back. Do it with one hand and then change ist with the other.
Variation four you hit with one hand and before the ball bounces back, you hit with the other hand.
Variation five, the most impressive variation. All you do is keep the ball up, so hands go round and round.
Variation six is easier than it looks because all you do is maintain the position of the ball by having your hands in a stable state. This variation can be done even with eyes closed.
Variation seven is going to be fist and elbow. Fist elbow, fist elbow
Variation eight is fancier with fist and elbow with the switching of hands.
Variation nine is again fist elbow with more speed.
Variation ten is 10 with each hand.

Tony Jeffries from Sunderland in North East England. From the age of 10, Tony boxed at the highest level amateur and professional for 17 years, representing his country of England, around the world in 55 of my 106 fights. He is very honored and proud to have been team captain for England on many occasions and even for Great Britain a couple of times.
The highlight of Tony's career came in 2008 when he joined the very exclusive “Olympian” club. After beating the Belarusian, Dutch, Hungarian champions and the USA team captain Christopher Downs in his backyard in the World Championships, Tony qualified for the Beijing Olympic Games. I came home with a bronze medal after years of training solid. It was the happiest time of my life!
Tony turned pro after the Games having ten pro fights with nine wins, 5 KO's one draw and 0 loses
For the last three professional fights-from the end of 2010 and all of 2011-He trained in Los Angeles with world-renowned boxing trainer Tommy Brookes-for me, the best in the world!
At the end of 2011, Tony had surgery on both of his hands because of a hole and a tear in my knuckles. He tried all sorts of treatment to fix them, but the hands never fully recovered, and he had to retire from competing.
He was devastated that he couldn’t box competitively anymore, but the end of Tony's fighting career was the start of a new chapter in the then 27 year old's life. Now living in LA since January 2012; with the wife they both fell in love with this city straight away, so we decided to apply their green cards and move here.
They loving life in Santa Monica, Tony has set up two dream gyms -Box ’N Burn in Santa Monica and Brentwood-with the top trainer and businessman Kevan Watson. They’ve trained everyone from kids and total beginners to celebrities like Skylar Grey; also worked with the likes of UFC superstar Conor McGregor and legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard.
Tony is a fully qualified advanced personal trainer and being in gyms all his life like Kevan and they made sure Box ’N Burn has all the best things from all those other gyms with none of the bad things.
Tony host's the Box ’N Life podcast, with Glenn “Six Figure” Holmes, trainer to the stars. They discuss anything and everything about boxing and life and have a good laugh doing it. They’ve also had great guests, including self-made billionaire Dan Pena, WBC cruiserweight champ and “Creed” star Tony Bellew and top Hollywood film producer Jason Clark.

Variation 1 has always been my favorite to watch. I need to learn it myself. Saw sonny liston doing it and was hooked.
My heavy bag is coming tomorrow and the stand comes with a speed bag. Never practiced with one before. Why do I get the sense you’re making it easier than it seems.
How you progressing now? Hope you’re still going. Lol the speed bag was a bitch and still is for me 4 days in…
Get it yet? I dont think its particularly hard especially the basic or fundamental stuff , which is the main benefit for boxing too imho....kinda fun too... just gotta give it some time and effort like anything and just make sure you learn howmto strike it properly and in detail from early on and focus on tecnique and rhythym etc nice and slow to get good tecnique rather than trying to go too fast or fancy too quick or hitting it too hard etc. Unfortunately those platforms on a stand with a heavy bag or whatever are about the least ideal way to mount them, and usually the platforms that come with them not great either.....cause it just vibrates too much and sucks out all the energy. Should be ok to start though, beats nothing right. :) But you'll probably want a better set up before long. Ideally you'll want to mount them to to a sturdy solid concrete wall, less you have the side of a huge rock cliff face where you train haha.
It's actually like jumping rope. You just get better with time. How you make out?
Just start slowly. Get the rhythm down first brother.
@@gregory3557how much air though?
Man, I'm just starting and what I've seen in htis video is really impressive !
Gotdam! This guy is a master sensei on the speed bag, I've got work to do
It's been a month. How you doing?
That’s the coolest shit I’ve ever seen
Straight to the point
Your one of the only RUclips boxing channels I actually would take advice from lol
Great video
"This is illegal in boxing so dont try this in the ring" Great advice btw 😅
Is it better to do it bare hand or with sparring gloves?
This tiny Jefferies is the man
Super helpful!!!! Thank you!!
Danke schön Jeffries😊
YOU INSPIRE ME BRO
Thank you mate, means a lot 🙏🏻
. I understand that it's a rhythm and timing. So I have to ask you, how important is it to make sure that the height of the bag is at the proper height? Or doesn't it matter?? I can never figure out where to adjust the part that the bag hangs from. Sometimes it feels too high and other times it feels too low I'm only 5 8. Where should the bag be in relation to my head.
Super nice Tony. Tons of thanks!!!
Thank you 🙏🏼 do you hit the speed bag?
@@Tony_Jeffries Yeah. Everyday! My routine starts with 2 rounds of speed bag. Your lessons help lot!
Ohhhhhh my flame
Ay this is my Jam Bobby Caldwell My Flame or also sample by Biggie, sky is the limit ❤
Thank you 🙏🏾
you missed #6 . awesome bag skills
Background music song? It sounds so familiar
Biggie smalls - Sky’s the limit 🌌
I've been watching your videos for some time and trust you as a subject matter expert. I have a question. Do hand wraps add any benefit to hitting the speed bag? My gym requires wraps, but they seem unnecessary for the force/impact involved.
Only reason is because you would be doing multiple things instead of just the speed bag so having wraps on is quicker to get gloves on to hit heavy bag or go spar
great tutorial, mate. and great song in the background
What’s the song in the background called again

fast hands Bruv
Wow wow 👏👏
Ah, variation is, for example, left, right; right left. Thus, the right hand will hit it twice, back-to-back, followed by the left hand hitting it twice.
Does the speed bag help your boxing in a major way? Can you be a good boxer without it or is it mandatory?
Nice
Wkd mate am gonna try all 10 tomorrow
Enjoy 😁
How was #6?
@@stangtrax hahaha I've just realised. 😂 I'm variation 1 it's a peice of piss after 2 or 3 days of practice I can look away and do it. I'm trying variation 3 getting there slowly. Variation 6 is actually impossible give it a try mate 👍 still gotta big up Mr Jefferys tho seems like a top bloke 💪
Why is 5 the most impressive?
Good Brazil
#6 ?
#6 was do fast tge camera didn't even catch it.

Can people posting please call me sensei tony, coach tony or shidoshi tony
This is weird. I just got speed punching bag. Within 2 days I can easily do variation 9.
I dont think there ordered by difficulty, i think its litterly just 10 random varations for someone to try.
Not as easy as he made it look😂
Honestly once u get the rythym it can be
Took me good year
This was such a good video, those elbow variations were really cool
Nice 1 - do you use this
Dang it!!!

Does it matter on the fitting with that speed ball or is it practice because mine keeps going sideways
Could you recommend a good fitting for speedball I’ve got an everlast platform
Thankyou.
I just received my first feedback for Christmas. How long did it take you to become so proficient using it?
Fantastic video and I plan on saving this to my to my playlist
Thanks, always wanted to know that, boxing gym I was a member of didn’t have one, probably stolen, rough area.
10... Prrr... i do 10 in my sleep 😂😂😂🧙
So your suppose to hit the speed bag with the side of your hand or bottom what ever u want call it, but not with the knuckles right??!
Great ..Always learning from you..
Amazing Tips ! Thanks !!
Nice variations, I have been using the SpeedbagBible by Alan Khan system for a while myself. As a boxer what is your opinion of that system?
What's the benefit of a speedbag?
Cool
Awesome tutorial
What does hitting the speed bag do?what are its advantages??
Rhythm...timing
Sky is the limit
Hey great video.Hey I need to know how to hit forward and backwards.I know forward hit then it goes back forward back .And then you would hit again going forward. But how do you do three bounce forward then three bounce backwards and then back to forward.
Its's all about footwork mate, check this out on how to move and punch ruclips.net/video/hU046Z5wpFk/видео.html and also ladder drills to improve your footwork as well ruclips.net/video/CrFpBgsPhIw/видео.html
Thanks Tony !! Your the man
Amazing how many different variations on the speed bag. Also amazing how many boxing coaches will argue till their blue in the face about whats the "best" ...had a guy tell me I was wrong for starting a youngster close to the speed back & slow..but thats how I was taught. This coach was a cool guy, but thought the ONLY way to do was his way. He stays waaay back and almost extends whole arm. He didnt realize most guys wont be able to do that (he has short arms) also regardless of the flavor u throw on the speedbag, some kids NEED to get the pitter-pat rhythm down first close or far.
Love your videos man. Thanks! Congratulations on all your achievements in boxing! Hopefully I’ll be able to meet you one day and shake your hand🤙
I’m barely getting decent at the normal alternating hands and he’s throwing in elbows 😂😂
Sometimes it’s good to just have fun and make stuff up too. No rules speed bag!
Can the elbow be used in defense, if you only make contact with the opponents gloves?
Could definitely be a drummer in a bad not that I have any rhythm to speak of myself
Which one if you were to master one would be the best
Wow, the last one is surprisingly hard to do
You missed 6 Tony but great moves
great video
he taught me how to hit the speed bag in under 5 minutes. Well done.
Tony sei una fonte inesauribile di ispirazione ❤
none of us can figure out variation 4- can u do a separate dedicated tutorial?
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
