  • The latest version 0.30b has the ability to unlock TX all the way down to 18 MHz.
    Before some other Edgar with a "lifetime of RF engineering" chimes in virtue signalling, let's just clear something up.
    It is almost guaranteed the radio will not operate correctly outside of the capabilities of the filters and PA, and I DO NOT condone anyone transmitting where they shouldn't be doing so. I CERTAINLY AM NOT! The TD-H3 will not transmit on the Air Band frequencies anyway regardless of the limits.
    I am interested in seeing a frequency analysis into a dummy load of the radio on the HF bands though. I suspect it would be the same deal as the Quansheng

    thanks for all your hard work. I hope you will still be able to keep working on this project and that we will get other devs involved!

    This is great! This is looking amazing already!! Imagine being able to flash firmware, change power settings, adjust memories, and operate the radio all from one interface! Love it!

    Thanks a lot for supplying protocol information on github. Would you mind to share additional details about the 32-byte data blocks sent to/received from the radio?

      Each 32 byte block is just part of the the config memory being read or written, probably to/from an eeprom. The config memory is 8192 bytes in total and contains all the info about the Radio's current state. I figured out most of the locations by reading in the whole 8192 bytes, changing something on the radio, then reading it in again and comparing the difference between the two. TIDRADIO sent me the memory map which filled in some extra blanks. I don't know if they would like me sharing the Data they sent, but I am asking them if it's okay to do so as someone on Facebook asked me for it.

    Great project, Marcus! I was looking for some documentation about the protocol to communicate with the H3 like your TID Station does... Could you shed some light here?

      Yes, I'll make a protocol text file on the GitHub page. Someone answered with what seemed to be the correct protocol, but it's gone now for some reason.

    Nice :-) ... will this also work with TD8? And are you planning to make BT connection work?

    • @nicsure
      @nicsure  7 месяцев назад +1

      I'm limited to the equipment I have unfortunately and the H3 is the only TIDRadio I have. It was my plan to make it work over bluetooth, but it simply will not pair to the PC at all, the PC cannot even see it. It may be possible to butcher it with libusbk/libpcik but that wouldn't be user friendly setup at all.

      As an update, TIDRADIO have sent me the information about the TD-H8's memory map. So this should be possible. Although I have no way to test it as of now.

      @@nicsure Maybe I can help ? :-)
      As soon as you give me a go I will download and test with my TD8. Bear in mind
      that I will be off grid till July 6th

      @@oldtrappertom Sounds like a plan. Keep an eye on the Github page, I'll upload any experimental H8 stuff there.

      I can't control the ineptitude of malware detector developers. You can pick almost any software out there, and it'll flag on some scanners. It's the heuristics, they are way too touchy. If people don't want to run it then that's up to them. Everyone knows where I live so I'd be a right stupid idiot to try anything like that.
