Land price has appreciated so much and those who are still there become over night millionaires. Is it a deliberate decision not to clear away that piece of 12,281 sq meter land? Is there any house there belong to any politician etc?

Agree that we cannot follow one model of the past for the future. We need modification and changes that really place Singaporeans welfare and future at the central of the policies!
The only thing constant is change .... Darwin recognizes the key to survival of a specie is to adapt to to changes in the environment more than a century ago and this applies equally to governments and system of governance. Thinking that change is non existent and that the status quo need not be challenged is a sheer sign of a impending demise of a nation and a system. New ideas and certainly new people are needed in parliament. Diversity is the key to ensure robust democracy and true resilience to future challenges. Vote wisely as this is better than any resilience budget given out which will quickly be expended and its effects are too short term to have lasting implications.
People have already mortgaged their futures when they sell and buy their flats. Believing in(accent appreciation). That's why in the early 1990s, someone mentioned we made 660 billions dollars of real estate.
For all those who doubt and criticize WP for their Town Council management team, please think again. Is their wards not well taken care off? Did we hear any major uproar of them within their wards? As compare to the Rats and Pest issue in a GRC from the West of Singapore that went haywire and a recent fire that injured a resident who eventually die from injuries because the hose reel issue which coincidentally also happened at the west of Singapore, but this time is a SMC. As for Sengkang GRC residents, can you remember how the messy renovation of Rivervale Mall was taken care off by WP after they took over the now "gone" Punggol East SMC? WP are just too eager to serve their Wards to their very best they can that they might went slightly off but definitely within their control.
To me, there is no point to debate any policy or even budget with PAP in the parliament. Get down to the streets, talk to the community, solve their issues, get their trust and they will vote for you. The problem now with WP is that you all spent too much time reading through tons of policy published by PAP, looking for debate points and exchange words over parliament. Even if you win the debates with valid points, so ? Is the hawker centre uncle's issue resolved? Is the road issue fixed? Is the community living better ? Think about it.
